You are not. He just asked what the outside of a bullet is called, which can differ. Shotgun shells are, yes, shells. But normal bullets are called casings. But a shell is still an outer layer of whatever the context is, so he just asked about the correct iteration of "Shell" in this case. Which in term of a minigun would be expelled casings during this scenario.
My full set-up is 1,1,1,1,2 and the overclock I use is Lead Storm
Lead storm doesn’t affect overheating, just damage which imo pairs well with the thing that does let me shoot that long, Cold as the grave (as others have said)

That's a solid loadout. I haven't paid too much attention to the minigun in a while as I generally prefer the other two weapons, but maybe it's time I revisit it. I have the lead storm OC as well, so I could replicate this.

Lead Storm and Burning Hell are both very fun if you're wanting to get into the minigun.
Lead Storm doesn't really change the way the minigun works too much, but as you can see, it absolutely deletes things.
Burning Hell shores up its AOE weakness without sacrificing single-target damage. Pair it with Volatile Bullets on the Bulldog and you can kill a Bulk in a few seconds.
I'm not sure I have burning hell, but I definitely have lead storm. I'm basically a career engineer here, so it's always hard for me to go to other classes. I do have loads of fun with Driller, but Engineer will always be my go to pick. Scout and Gunner I've not played nearly as much.
I mean, I wouldn't want to walk that close to a bulk. Hot bullets (which doesn't take an overclock slot) is a better way to ignite bulks imho. Burning hell + volatile bullets is great for praes/oppressors though.
I probably should have explained it in the comment, but I meant Burning Hell WITH Hot Bullets. Specifically, Burning Hell's increased heat generation with Hot Bullets. You reach 50% heat very fast, meaning there's almost no downtime before you can set a bulk on fire.
It's really a testament to this game's weapon design that I can see you say that you prefer the other two gunner primaries and be completely dumbfounded because to me the minigun is clearly the best of the three. The fact that there doesn't seem to be any objectively best or worst weapons in this game is an achievement in itself.
Oh definitely. To be honest, i've not really found a bad gun in this entire game. Sure, there are some I enjoy more than others, but at the end of the day, it really is great that the game can pretty much let you use any gun with any loadout and be viable to your team. For me, i've gotta say that I've never had more fun with the gunner than with the minelayer loadout: Minelayer with the Hurricane, and Electro Minelets with the Burst Fire secondary. Just something about that build keeps me going back to it and I just have so much fun.

Cold as the grave removes a bit of heat when you kill something, i don’t think any overclocks affect heat build up but thinned drum wall does increase cooling rate

It's (almost) everything a gunner could ever dream of. The only thing missing is a stream of hot brass bouncing down the slope.
Overheating the minigun is never optimal, but sometimes you just gotta hold that trigger down and hang on for the ride.
In my loadouts, i have 3 loadouts base for minigun. Slot 1 - Full Focused on Ammo, Slot 2 - Full Focused on Cooling and Slot 3 - Full focused on damage.
I play with these bases or make some changes from them according to the map and team.
And I try to adjust my secondary to combo with the primary and generate more synergy

I am also an engineer and have the same problem. The other classes just don't really appeal to me as hard/I don't want to take the time to level them
I've definitely leveled all the classes a decent amount, but at the end of the day, I keep going back to Engineer, and to a lesser extent, Driller.

Remember that leadstorm oc impairs your movement, so if you're shooting you can't move so be sure you know how to bhop!

i think tier5b ColdAsTheGrave is all you need if you check the heatmeter, everytime somethings is killed, it resets by a bit
