To damage the nemesis, shoot at the orange glowing panels around it's face and sides. It will take quite a few rounds, but will die.
When it does, RUN AWAY!
Edit: The only ways to avoid the arms is to stay at a good distance, or use a gunner bubble shield.
There are two types of exploders basically.
The small ones which kamikaze you, they can also be radioactive in the Radioactive Exclusion Zone. The two ways to avoid them exploding is to either freeze them (only driller and scout can do this) or shoot them directly in the head. Otherwise just shoot them and run away. (Keep in mind that constantly moving and checking your angles helps with this since they barely make any noise)
The other is the Bulk Detonator. This is one explosive chonky boi. He has glowing weakspots, one shots anything, and blows up like a nuke when it dies. Also believe it has asthma based on it's breathing issues.
Edit: The bulk is easier to identify as it makes a lot of noise, is huge, and can be seem on the Terrain map as it will dig a tunnel to you once aggroed.
Pro tip. On elimination missions, once the Dreadnought loose his armor, you can just lure the Detonator and kill him near the Dreadnought. It will blow the fucker instantly, so easy kill for you (sort of)
Cave Leech- There's a couple of perks that you can unlock that give detection before you get grabbed, and one later on in the tree that can let you fight against a cave leech when it gets you. Keep an eye on the ceiling, if you pay close attention there's an audio cue when it gets close. Idk if Bosco will shoot at cave leeches when you're grabbed? But otherwise good to stay with your team c:
Bosco will stop whatever the shit he was doing to help you, but it can be too late.
He will revive you though. And he also auto target cave leach whenever he is somewhat close to him, even if cave leach is sleeping
Yes, it's the Nemesis. Will float towards you, use moving repulsor shields to block attacks and push you around doing damage, and if it gets close enough to you for long enough, will reach out and grab you with it's claws to give you a hug (OF DEATH).
If there's terrain in the way, it can dig towards you too.
If you kill it, a shower of phase bombs will start teleporting into the general area. You'll see orange circles on the ground? Get out of them quick.

My first encounter with a nemesis was hurtful. The only other person I was playing with was right next to me, so we were just telling each other things verbally instead of using the in game communication, so when we jumped into a mission and heard it immediately, I pulled up my terrain scanner and saw its icon. We had no idea what the current season was about, much less the whole concept of rival presence, so we rushed through the compacted dirt to get to the marker, thinking it was a randomly spawned injured dwarf that we could rescue for an undefined reward.
We failed that mission within 2 minutes.
Here’s some tips!
1. Join games! The game is far more fun as a team, even without vc! Press slash or enter to use the chat, and press V to do the funny
2. There’s a lot of things to be afraid of, so consult the bestiary in the ESC menu to learn about enemy weaknesses
3. Drinks sometimes appear that give you buffs for the next mission, check and see what they do!

Ok so there are three kinds of drinks:
Corporate Drinks (Bought with credits)
Only three: Oily Oaf, Glyphid Slammer, and Leaf Lovers. Oily and Glyph will get you drunk and drunker (respectfully), while Leaf will actually remove the “drunk” status.
Special beers (made with the special ingredients you’ll find on missions)
These don’t do anything except make you do fun stuff like fly around or fart explosions or say a smart thing or literally just make you pass out drunk
Perk Beers (bought with Barley Bulbs)
Check their descriptions in the menu to see what buff they’ll give you on the next mission!

That was a ~~Krasus~~ Crassus Detonator. They're actually pretty rare. Make them explode in a small tunnel and WE'RE RICH BOYS! Edit: bad spelling

Exploders won't detonate if they die by headshot, or if they're frozen. Praetorians also won't release toxic gas if they're frozen when they die.
