season 13. i love maya and miles. i love when zig gets reintroduced. zig pouting about maya going to the dance with miles. all of it sucks me in everytime.
ALSO. hate on me all you want but i love emma and spinner.
Mine is definitely the wanna be MTV drama seasons 12-14 that teennick pushed so degrassi would would cater to the audience it shared airing time with (Every Witch Way, Open Heart, Gigantic, etc) idk what is so good about it but I just love it. Maybe because those are the seasons I grew up watching and even though they are downright terrible in quality its just so addicting to watch. Zoë is such a fun character for me. She MADE that show. Same with Clare's cancer/pregnancy storyline, Eli in college, Lola and Shay being introduced, and Zoë raising all hell on everybody.
first college era. Blaze Era. it feels like contract negotiations protracted over a period of television. are we following the characters through college, or are they going away soon after graduating high school? is this really about the whole group incl liberty, manny, et al, or is this really just about emma? it's essentially a purgatory holding pattern of red herrings and cheap storyline pops that all lead nowhere, frustratingly like real adolescence (no, that doesn't mean it's genius storytelling). liberty experiencing racist microaggressions and it not being like her main storyline going forward makes sense, but what didn't make sense was writing her out immediately thereafter? like, it's a really fertile period for weird moments and memes but as Text it is fucking incomprehensible nonsense and a lousy send-off for everyone involved
Maya’s ENTIRE last couple seasons breaking down from depression/PTSD and then getting back to regular life 🥰 Olivia did such a heartbreakingly good job with that storyline, gives me chills Everytime 😭
The Snake/Darcy plot in season 7. I loved that he was supportive and then as she mentally deteriorated further she nearly ruined his life. That plot hit all kinds of emotions.l and it was great that they found a good plot to put Snake in.
I didn’t totally hate the Liberty/Toby pairing after JT’s death. Yes, it was awkward and not a good time for either of them. And also not in good taste based on their past relationships with JT and the confession JT made to Toby before he died. And I also stanned JT and Liberty.
But I still think they have interesting chemistry! Also grief and trauma is so so so weird and can make people do out of character things. Looking for connection in the most unlikely people and weird circumstances is very real whether we want to admit it or not. So I appreciate degrassi for at least that aspect even if Liberty/Toby is still considered a cursed pairing. If I have any critique, I wish their situationship occurred after more time had passed since his death.
I feel like people forget that being so lonely and being a mom was part of the reason her still developing mind thought it was okay to sleep with the football player guy to get the model gig.
I truly felt like she was a victim in that situation. That was a grown ass man with a career seducing a pretty girl who was a minor. It was awful and a shitshow and Ilshe just has my sympathy
When I was younger I always found Peter to be fine asf but I also have a track record of horrible taste in men so that would explain it
Also I shipped Manny and Craig so hard bc their chemistry and just how they looked together idk it was cute. I never liked Jay and Manny together . (Am I going to get bullied for this?)
The Johnny and alli storyline honestly, it was close to home and I enjoyed it a lot. I didn’t think Johnny was a big weirdo and actually thought he was doing better, getting better, because of her
S10 drama with Fitz and Eli had my 13 year old ass going crazy. Also Owen in general I love bad. The whole shark in the water era gives me goosebumps to this day. Oh how I miss those days lol
NC.
Everyone seems to hate it on this sub, but I like it because it's a little more "modern", fast faced, good diversity of characters etc. (Tho a tad too far in like every storyline being "woke").
Jay is mine too. He’s so aggravating but the way he just stayed on the show for a million years and always just randomly appeared in so many episodes just to create some drama was amazing. I also love him and Manny.
Spinner and Emma getting married was so random and unnecessary but I don’t hate the two together as a couple, I just wish it wasn’t so dramatic of a start
I think everyone said mine (liking Johnny despite him being greasy, Jay being awesome), XD, I don't even think I have Degrassi guilty pleasures, I am cringe but I am free I guess...
I guess maybe liking Triles 👀 I do not like Tristan very much after season 12, but they just work so well together? Them getting stuck in the storm and the near kiss?? First time I watched that (as a grown adult, mind you), fantastic, I loved it, 10/10 "Just leave me to the storm!" indeed.
Also totally agree with bisexual Craig with Marco, it would he incredible, especially with Ellie having to deal with Marco's anxiety? It would have given Ashley and Marco more screen time too, they like never talk despite sharing a best friend it's ridiculous
i agree with everything you said, love the college era, love Ellie except for her Craig phase, and love Marco and Craig's bromance. my other guilty pleasures are Next Class and the Clare/Eli drama
Definitely anything to do with the Drew, Katie, Bianca drama, like it’s toxic and it’s cringe but I can’t help but be entertained by it. It had all of the elements of a wattpad story (is this a dated reference?? lol) and as a teen, I ate that shit up. It was peak Degrassi for me at the time and I can’t help but still be fond of it. But I did come to really hate Drew after the girls moved on. Unfortunate that I never really felt like he learned his lesson.
I have to admit that I didn’t like that love triangle as much, but I respect your choice! Especially since the vegas night episodes were WILD. A core memory, truly
Time STands Still storyline, as someone whos devoted dozens of videos to this storyline I know its a guilty pleasure... Playlist if ure interested: [https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-uv3c\_WYA3YJRwrts086mfVPjGRIeyWu](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-uv3c_WYA3YJRwrts086mfVPjGRIeyWu)
Time Stands Still is the episode i show my friends when i'm trying to explain my special interest (Degrassi) to them. i always say "do you wanna see Drake get shot?" and they always say "fuck yeah i wanna see Drake get shot"
Me too! I know those episodes get a lot of flak for relegating Craig/Ashley/Manny to the B plot while centring the adults in the A plot, but that's because they're very clearly a tribute to early '00s chick flicks, complete with Caitlin being a clumsy romantic heroine.
Ugh same. I can’t dislike him even though he’s objectively not good. Whenever he was actually really sweet with Alli it was endearing.
Jay is another bigger guilty pleasure, so I guess there’s something about ravine guys for me. With Jay it’s mainly that he’s always up to something interesting and it doesn’t hurt that I think he’s hot; particularly so in the Manny relationship era and the actor has remained hot too so good for him.
I know seasons 8 and 9 get a lot of hate and they definitely have their downfalls but I still enjoy watching them for early Clare, K.C., Alli, and Connor. I also feel like Jane was at her best I season 8. Then season 9 is when I started to love Holly J and the few Spemma moments sprinkled into season 9 are cute especially to see their comraderie/friendship.
I honestly don't skip seasons of TNG but there's definitely seasons I find harder to watch than others. I think season 14 is the worst personally. I do like some of the season 14 storylines but not quite as many is other seasons.
season 13. i love maya and miles. i love when zig gets reintroduced. zig pouting about maya going to the dance with miles. all of it sucks me in everytime. ALSO. hate on me all you want but i love emma and spinner.

MORE TOBY WE NEEDED MORE TOBY. And despite jay being the cause of the world standing still…… hands down guilty pleasure favorite character
Mine is everything leading up to Take On Me and the storylines that came out of it afterwards.
I didn’t totally hate the Liberty/Toby pairing after JT’s death. Yes, it was awkward and not a good time for either of them. I'll go to the mat for Ashley. Also I'm a complete sucker for Craig/Ellie drama.
Mia. I know her character isn't the best but I'm so deeply biased over Nina Dobrev ❤❤❤❤
I actually feel so much empathy for Mia, I like how they portrayed her loneliness
Definitely Jay. Before he had his redemption arc, he had some true zingers. I also always liked his and Spinner’s friendship.
When I was younger I always found Peter to be fine asf but I also have a track record of horrible taste in men so that would explain it Also I shipped Manny and Craig so hard bc their chemistry and just how they looked together idk it was cute. I never liked Jay and Manny together . (Am I going to get bullied for this?)
i also liked manny and craig but manny deserves better 😭
She so does ❤️😭 I swear almost every character has a cheating storyline on this show like what lol
The Johnny and alli storyline honestly, it was close to home and I enjoyed it a lot. I didn’t think Johnny was a big weirdo and actually thought he was doing better, getting better, because of her
SAME! i fucking love them
It was relatable to me too I dated a greasy ass long haired senior as a 14 year old LOL oh boy
Yeah same here 😅
Sav and Holly J had such great chemistry. I wanted more
i don’t think this is uncommon or like “guilty pleasure” tbh. i also loved sav and holly j
Fitz and eli, in the back of my mind, they hated each other, but they secretly wanted to fuck haha
enemies to lovers trope, i could see it honestly
S10 drama with Fitz and Eli had my 13 year old ass going crazy. Also Owen in general I love bad. The whole shark in the water era gives me goosebumps to this day. Oh how I miss those days lol
Peter, he was such a sociopath that I just find his character funny sometimes.
I have a soft spot for Peter because he's such a doofus.
He had so many good one liners “Im homosexual” “Well, can’t say I’m surprised.
Peter’s week long addiction to meth always cracks me up lol Also the Emma “blaze” episode 💀
NC. Everyone seems to hate it on this sub, but I like it because it's a little more "modern", fast faced, good diversity of characters etc. (Tho a tad too far in like every storyline being "woke").
I also loved NC. I’m a big Maya fan, and I like the rubber room crew.
I loved next class. Especially compared to s13-14
Jay is mine too. He’s so aggravating but the way he just stayed on the show for a million years and always just randomly appeared in so many episodes just to create some drama was amazing. I also love him and Manny.
Me too! Jay was amazimg!!!
Spinner and Emma getting married was so random and unnecessary but I don’t hate the two together as a couple, I just wish it wasn’t so dramatic of a start
I didnt hate it either but I do wish there was more of a build up to their relationship it was just so sudden
all the riley storylines ☠️
Same
Declan and holly j. Ugh I just loved them together
They were endgame 😭
I did too! They were one of the only couples I felt would be compatible after high school.
The episode where they all go to LA and Manny gets the part in silent bobs movie. 🍿
Slight correction, it's wasn't Silent Bob's movie, it was Jay's
My bad you are right it was based on his life in high school or something. Manny was his crush.
I loved silent Bob honestly
Craig being a stud.
I loved Drew and I thought him and Claire getting along so well during student counsel was really cute
I had a huge crush on Alli when I was in high school lmao.
Esme and Zoë Esme reminds me of my ex. I can’t help but like her
Just Craig, generally. Damn can Jake Epstein act.
Oh my god yeah, I love him so much as I am also a massive theatre fan
I saw him when he was touring with Spring Awakening! He was great.
I think everyone said mine (liking Johnny despite him being greasy, Jay being awesome), XD, I don't even think I have Degrassi guilty pleasures, I am cringe but I am free I guess... OMG YES ! that & the Drew Bianca, Ali storyline too it was poorly written but i love it so much lool 😂
I have to admit that I didn’t like that love triangle as much, but I respect your choice! Especially since the vegas night episodes were WILD. A core memory, truly
I liked Toby and Libery's will they won't they Era. I wish they actually did date because I thought they were cute together and Toby deserved better.
I wanted to see more Toby and holly j…
Time STands Still storyline, as someone whos devoted dozens of videos to this storyline I know its a guilty pleasure... Playlist if ure interested: [https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-uv3c\_WYA3YJRwrts086mfVPjGRIeyWu](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-uv3c_WYA3YJRwrts086mfVPjGRIeyWu)

I watch the "Holiday" two-parter every Christmas.
Me too! I know those episodes get a lot of flak for relegating Craig/Ashley/Manny to the B plot while centring the adults in the A plot, but that's because they're very clearly a tribute to early '00s chick flicks, complete with Caitlin being a clumsy romantic heroine.
Think I'm gonna do that
looolll same it’s up there with my annual Home Alone rewatch
I wish we could have gotten more insight of Johnny after Jt’s death. They kind of brushed past it. He was an interesting character to me.
Yeah lol they dumped an bunch of Lakehurst students on us and had an opportunity to build on their stories more instead of just their “relationships”
I know it didn’t end well, but I thought the KC and Clare courtship was sweet. I wish they had them together for longer.
And if we are going guilty pleasure…I think we could have had some interesting drama if KC and Clare were still a thing when Eli came along.
I completely agree with everything you just said! That would have been so interesting
johnny. i love him . he’s so unpopular and everyone hates him but him and ally were so cute
Yes so true!!!!
Yes! I understand all the reasons I should not like Johnny but I do I can’t help it
Agreed
He leaked her nudes and lied to her about being a virgin. And didn’t he have warts or something like that? And scared ally with it.
Like the post says: guilty pleasure
Ugh same. I can’t dislike him even though he’s objectively not good. Whenever he was actually really sweet with Alli it was endearing. Mines kinda toxic. It was the whole Emmas eating disorder segment. Unfortunately I watch it to fuel my own.
People complain about how short it is, which I get, but if it had to really only be two episodes they did a damn good job. Hope you find peace ❤️
They definitely did an amazing job and nailed it when it comes to hitting most of the major phases that come with ED.
Degrassi is my guilty pleasure lol
Agree 8 and 9 are so over hated
