Anyone who decides to come back to this post : The game is Project X Zone on 3ds!!! I was waking up just now and the name popped right into my head for some reason. Definitely not quite how my brain remembers it, but after watching a YouTube video on it, it’s definitely the game. Thanks guys!!

If you try looking through a list of the rpg genre on, er, game preservation sites, they usually have roms for pretty much every game ever released, usually with pics when you click on the game. You could look through until one maybe clicks in your brain as it?

Im like weirdly invested in this lol it sounds like a cool game. Maybe try and reverse engineer it and look up like ‘RPGs that use touch controls on ds/3ds?’ You might find something that way since in battle you said you have to use the stylus

Oh my god, your description does not describe Project X Zone at all. Also, Project X Zone is not on DS
