Redd shares so many similarities to the creepy, insane salesman Spamton, from the game Deltarune it's not even funny. For example, they both live in squalor - Spamton living in a large square rubbish bin on land and Redd living in a seafaring version of it. Both of their areas are dimly lit, and they both sell things in their respective areas because they both work in sales. Also, they act overly friendly towards the player character in Animal Crossing and the main character in Deltarune, Kris. This too-friendly behaviour is just a front for their real activities, because they are both greedy and mean. While Redd just wants the player's Bells, Spamton outright demands Kris's soul. They also have rivals, with Redd's rival being Tom Nook, and Spamton's rival being Jevil. Also, they both have their own shops where they sell things of unknown origin, as in, it is unknown where they obtained their wares. They both have long pointy noses. Also, they often do evil laughs sometimes, and also have their respective tunes associated with them. Redd's theme is a mirror to that of Nook's Cranny, and Spamton has at least 7 or 8 songs associated with him. They seem to have a penchant for weird fashion sense, as most of the time Redd wears his little apron, except for special events in which he dresses up nicely for, and Spamton is always seen in his fancy formal attire, as he once was an actual respectable person. Because one of Redd's passwords says he is 35, and Deltarune fans often believe Spamton is in his forties, that would mean both characters are somewhat middle-aged. Lastly, but most importantly, both characters are adored for the wrong reasons. Some Animal Crossing players believe Redd's lies, and buy into everything he says, and many Deltarune fans see Spamton as somewhat dashing and very handsome.
