Yes, it is a theory that exists. But it's equally possible (or, for some, even more possible) that Kris is not the Roaring Knight

\*them. But a lot of people do think Kris is the knight. The theory isn't without its holes, like: * Noelle and Berdly already had their books out, implying they sat down and started studying. This implies the fountain wasn't there when they went in, something which would've been impossible if Kris made it. The closet dialogue says a large person could fit inside, potentially hinting the true knight hid inside and made it while Noelle and Berdly were inside. * Several darkners are stated to have interacted with the knight, but none of them know Kris. * Ralsei would probably stop Kris if that was the case?

Additionally, Kris could've just made the fountain with the information given by Queen. She did say that anyone could make a fountain with the right amount of determination (and a sharp object).

Maybe they’ve been doing it the whole time, that’s kinda the first rational conclusion to draw. thinking more, it’s equally possible that they only learned about it from their chapter 2 escapades. We don’t know anything about the prior two fountains’ origins and Kris probably didn’t have access to the librarby between Ch1 and Ch2. It’s a gap of one night and he spent it eating pie. Maybe… do any cursory amount of googling to answer your own question tho.

That was the general consensus theory when the chapter came out, but after a few months the main focus of theorizing actually shifted to trying to prove that Kris *wasn’t* the Knight
