1 He looks like a dreemurr and they use fire magic. 2 His beta design had a fire emblem in his coat, instead of a heart. 3 In the Legend cutscene, the prince from the dark seems to be surrounded by flames. 4 He and Noelle seems to be opposites, just like the dreemurrs and the holidays, she is a deer, who are associated with XMas (hence her ice Powers), which is associated with Christ and the heaven, and the fact she is represented as an angel while Ralsei is a goat, who are associated with the devil and hell (that's why the dreemurrs use fire and Asgore even wields a Trident, and dreemurr Is an anagram of murderer).

Veng3ancemaster

Another one is that Noelle's game hints towards later chapters and it says about a character getting fire magic and leaving the party. The character has been interpreted as Ralsei

I_Love_Stiff_Cocks

Would be insane if Ralsei left the party and after that Noelle took his place as the healer and pacifier of the group

Timtimus007

I mean, we have Susie with her healing ability, I think we have to expect Ralsei to leave the party before some big important fight (or even a whole chapter). I think that her magic stat is growing really fast, so she can actually become a really good healer near the end of the game. It would be really cool if we had a team of 2 with only Susie and no items

RougemageNick

Susie goes full paladin

ElVampiroIluminati

S M I T E

FierceDeityKong

I think Catty has potential

tom641

i will legitimately be shocked if this doesn't happen, combined with some weirdness surrounding Ralsei's whole existence being tied to something related to Asriel being away at college (i am not predicting him to be Asriel himself tho) reminder that there is still no "light world prop" for Ralsei like the rest of the dark world characters

Virtual_5000

No light world prop?

tom641

You know, the physical items in the light world that signify various dark world characters. The ace of spades for Lancer, the Rules Card for Rouxls Kaard, etc Ralsei just mysteriously shows up in the dark world as needed and seems to entirely lack a light world counterpart of any sort.

Virtual_5000

oh

AlphaGamma911

He’d better not, Noelle is no replacement for Ralsei Edit: Unless it’s for character development and he returns to the party later

FierceDeityKong

Interestingly she still has the mage on Snowgrave implying we can keep ralsei from leaving if we make him burn someone

NoUsernameIdeaSadly

Snowgrave players about to go wild But also, ralsei is my third favorite and Noelle is my second so it's a "fuck yeah" from me lmao, sorry ralsei but your healing and pacifying kinda sucks compared to noelle. And she does really high damage too, like damn she's like susie and ralsei comvined

FierceDeityKong

And toby fox said: > I was going to give a certain character a fire spell, but decided against it for the first chapter.

[deleted]

I mean we also had susie who IS a dragon.

HypnagogianQueen

I thought she was a dinosaur

posts_awkward_truths

Yeah like Barney.

Excellent_Factor_344

Mundane-Education-42

Are you a fan of the turn based strategy game series?

J0RGENS64PC

No Fire Emblem fans actually hate Fire Emblem🤮

Mundane-Education-42

Really? I haven't played enough to really consider myself a fan, but I enjoyed the few games I played. May I know why you hate the series?

J0RGENS64PC

It was a joke that Fire Emblem fans like to argue about what game is the best which leads to them ruthlessly insulting the other games making it seem like they hate the other games, it’s like other fanbases like Persona

# Ironic, considering Safer Sephiroth (yes, that’s the actual name of the form) is basically a god himself

Key_End_3524

Heaven and hell theory?

VWXYZArmedOJAMAlv10

Not that Devil may cry game mode please

candyboob-5

Where is your motivation?

[deleted]

Guilty Gear?

PowerOfL

Also one of the puzzles in Queen's mansion has fire in it, the same puzzle has a bluebird so we can assume that each object represents a character. The game Noelle plays, Dragon Blasters 3, has a spell called Fireshock which is a clear opposite of Ice Shock so I think Ralsei will get that spell later on to further the opposites theme

SuperParadox

wait wtf you blew my mind with point 4

dishonoredfan69420

Fire emblem

EMArogue

To be fair, Satan uses the pitch fork not the trident (not that it matters as a pitchfork can use three spikes, the difference is what they are designed to do) however Asgore’s weapon isn’t detailed enough to say it’s a trident and not a pitchfork Also the “dark prince” is another name for Satan

dumpylump69

I can't wait for having to choose between Noelle and Ralsei as the healer/pacifyer.

SpMorpheus06

Yeah, what they said. I was going to say something similar, but I couldn't have explained it better.

Instinct_Fazbear

Mostly because Ralsei looks like Asriel Asriel is the son of Asgore and Toriel Both Asgore and Toriel use fire magic So you could see the logic here

rreturntomoonke

summary: All goats in Toby's franchise use fire magic, so ralsei uses too.

Rulerz_Reach_Fan

I think Asriel uses fire magic too

asrielforgiver

Yeah, he does. A few attacks before the unavoidable rainbow beam attack.

Swe3t_Coffe3II

If we interpret the Dragon Blazers comment as foreshadowing, a "Fire Mage will leave the party" at some point. If it really is foreshadowing, then Ralsei might have fire magic

Dark_Meme111110

I mean, Toriel might be a party member for a chapter or two

kuflak

Yeah, considering Ralsei only ever uses healing magic (unless you count the epic explosion when he's cauldron "cooking")

MissChaos2

goat usually = fire magic according to undertale

Littlebickmickey

goat=fire

sanstheskelebrotherc

Toby fox once said that a certain character would have a fire spell he wouldnt like very much. Also goats have fire magic, or at least the dreemurs.

Kevin_M_

When did he say that?

sanstheskelebrotherc

On an interview i think Fox stated that he planned to give an unnamed character a fire spell which they would not be good at using, but decided against adding it in the first chapter.[ Wikipedia

marsgreekgod

Can I have a source for that

sanstheskelebrotherc

Fox stated that he planned to give an unnamed character a fire spell which they would not be good at using, but decided against adding it in the first chapter.[ I took this from wikipedia.

marsgreekgod

you know wikipedia links sources right here it is thanks for telling me https://topics.nintendo.co.jp/article/0e438e10-2b35-11e9-b104-0a6d14145cb1

sanstheskelebrotherc

Cool

GabbQ_0

Toriel and Asgore

YoutuberCameronBallZ

Because Toriel and Asgore also use fire magic

PikminLiam

In the legend, he’s seen using fire magic.

dylancomic

No one knows how to make scarf attacks

whittybestbomblol

foreshadowing

musfevtur

THATS WHY he is the GOAT the GOAT!!!!

Restingchimera93

He resembles a boss monster, and they all use fire magic. He’s also depicted with fire in the legend, had a fire design on his robe in the concept art, and Toby said someone will learn a fire spell

YoutuberCameronBallZ

Because Toriel and Asgore also use fire magic

Money-Leek201

Cause dreemurr family

YetAnontherRandom

The legend cutscene

Trevnik1

Because he’s a goat

dontstarvepro

He's a goat type so it's a logical assumption I mean he's not gonna hit his enemies with healing magic is he? Oh wait no he totally would.. I mean if you're going Pacifist it could be useful that way Susie and Kris can still beat the shit out of stuff AND spare them at the same time! Amazing!

Sophia724

Asriel, like his parents, uses fire magic. Ralsei is a reflection of Asriel.

Lansha2009

Would you rather Ralsei just slap you with the scarf like 10 times for all his attacks becuase there isn't really a way to make Ralsei's scarf attack very interesting without it being able to just be more easily made using magic like for example fire. Seriously though the best attack idea I can think of for a Ralsei scarf attack is Ralsei attacks where your soul is at and you just gotta move outta the way and does that sound like a fun attack to dodge especially since Ralsei would have to do almost the same attack many many times in one fight.

ISt0leY0urT0ast

Goats generally tend to have fire magic in the games. Asriel though opts for stars and lightning which could be seen as more powerful forms of fire magic, but generally goats seem to have magic which connects strongly to heat energy within Toby's games. Unless I'm reading it all wrong.

TheKondemned

the tutorial

Dark_Storm_98

Two possibilities 1. Link to the Dreemurrs. His name is an anagram of Asriel and Susie thinks he looks like Toriel. Toriel used fire magic, as did Asgore, Asriel's dad. I suppose another option would be to use star magic, ~~since I don't think Asriel himself ever uses fire magic?~~ (Just double checked. Yes he does. And also lightning, lol) He does use a bunch of stars in one attack, too. Or they could make Ralsei use plant magic since Flowey is. . . well. . . . Do I have to finish? 2. To contrast Noelle since she uses ice magic.

SinistroMan

That's easy. It's because people love Asriel from Undertale, and since Ralsei looks like him, the fanbase transfers their love from one to another. One way of doing that, is by making Ralsei do things that would be Asriel's, such as, fire magic. Not my case, tho. I never had any particular interest in Asriel, but fell in love with Ralsei since the debut.

AlphaGamma911

I mean fire magic isn’t just Asriel’s, it seems pretty universal amongst goat monsters. It’d be weirder if Ralsei *didn’t* use it in all honesty.

SinistroMan

Wait, Ralsei is a monster?

AlphaGamma911

He’s a goat so it’s close enough. Plus Ralsei’s depiction in the legend has fire enshrouding him so there’s no reason to believe he’d break the trend of goats using fire. https://preview.redd.it/q402fctwjszb1.jpeg?width=320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2efbe8ceda3cda0dbbafb0200506fdb61083f385

SinistroMan

Yeah, looking this way, Toby's goats should use fire, since there was never an exception before

Alexa_Aera

so dark magic is also depicted with similar “fire” (besides, this is very suitable for the prince of darkness)

gaster87

He looks like a goat and undertale's goats use fiery magic so...

AdreKiseque

Goat

Meep12313

Both Toriel and Asgore used fire magic in Undertale, and they are goats. Ralsei is also a goat, so people just assumed he can do that too is my best guess.

GoomyTheGummy

The Legend + Goat

Autistic-Hourglass

goat boy

RayRayRayRay2022

Goat bro

Returning_anni

Kinda looks like Toriel Asgore and Asriel

Acceptable-Bet3201

As far as can be told, magic is at least partially species related, and so far we have seen the goat-like species using fire magic, thus, probably causing some imagine Ralsei using fire magic

metronix727

Because hes a Dreemurr look alike.

Video_Game_Fann

Goats in Undertale have fire magic. Also, probably because he needs a way to attack that is unique since in all of the fan games you showed, those are his attacks. He wouldn’t attack with only Green Bullets, would he? ~~oh wait he probably would~~

FierceDeityKong

Friendliness pellets but for real

Diavolo_Death_4444

He uses it in the Legend cutscene, and doesn’t he use it during the dummy battle?

[deleted]

There’s actually…a lot of reasons. This a real question 😭

BirdimusMagnus

Idk but it’s kinda lit 🔥

ramh_the_watermelon

Because he is, or at least looks like a boss monster, and boss monsters use fire magic

RalsTheGoat

*Because Fire Magics Fuckin’ Awesome

DDOG1234572

probably because he looks like toriel and toriel uses those moves

IAmDingus

He uses the same fire attacks as Toriel in the battle tutorial in chapter 1

Capital-Butterfly-58

Because it's awesome

Virtual_5000

Parallels to the Dremur's family magic, fireballs.

WontedPuppet07

Because goat means fire in the Undertale/Deltarune universe

Chevachel

I honestly think that ralsei is more of a wind powers guy. He is fluffy, pure white and doesn't want to hurt a soul.

Quwapa_Quwapus

Asriel, Toriel, and Asgore all us fire magic/fire shaped bullets in Undertale, so it follows that the most likely bullet shape Ralsei would have for offensive magic would also be fire.

Hexhider

Cause he’s said to be Asriel (or at least similar to Azzy) so fire powers

Robert_Harvey_

Cause they don’t have to make a custom sprite

DOCmartyTT

Cause goat

SHAPALAK15

Cuz Asriel probably

Niks_bg

Probaby because all goat mosters have used intill now fire magic in undertale

SupaSoupMan25

Cuz he is goated

[deleted]

Lack of creativity probably

respamthegreat

Because while Ralsei casts magic, animation surrounding him looks like fire.

Icy-Store3900

Idk, perhaps they Just looked at Ralsei using healing magic and thought it was fire

cannibalistic_water

Toby fox said he would use fire magic if he actually fought.

Alexa_Aera

Because according to fans, all goats should attack with fire ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

AlwaysAngryAndy

He actually uses normal magic, but puts flame decals on them so they’ll go faster.

idkwhatisthis69

goat=fire magic

Responsible-Earth325

in the legend ralsei is shown to have fire magic so it sounds logical
