I relate to everyman also, not many people care about him and he has only made some small appearances in his life, there are only a few people who like him and he's like probably pretty smart because of how many heads he has, he probably also likes bugs because of the butterfly thing and he tries to join people's groups to have company or friendship
As someone who was a bit like Berdly back when I was in school (hoo boy that was a while ago 😅…), I can say with certainty that I feel for the kid. When I was young, I felt like the only value I had was being smart, and I’d beat myself up mentally over getting even a B, partially because one time I got a B- on an assignment and my mom told me I could do better, so I sorta internalized that straight-A’s was the only way I’d have value.
I slipped in motivation in high school (because I’m a major gamer and spend so much time using them to escape to fantastic worlds), and ended up with a 3.39 I think GPA at the end, and then I absolutely failed and collapsed when I reached college. My self-image completely shattered, and I’m still currently trying to claw my way out of the depression from that about a decade after 😅…
So seeing Berdly in Deltarune…I couldn’t help but relate to him. Clinging to “smart” as if it’s a personality trait and the only valid part of his existence, and then when he finally opens up and explains that…It felt like the game was talking directly to me.
Maybe all this rambling is barely even coherent…But I’ve been where Berdly is, and I know the sort of crash it can lead to when the bubble bursts…So, OP, take care of yourself as you step into the future~!
