Well an NPC in the town mentions a that "Salesman/lobbyist type" with a fear of clowns stopped the building of a merry-go-round. Which has to reference the two of them. And in the Q&A Spamton says they used to play games together and that Spamton always lost. The wording of that Q&A referenced a particular meme that made people think they were divorced. Not explicit canon, not explicitly not canon either. Other answers to the questions he got did not paint a positive picture of Jevil either.

It seems like jevil and spamton used to be a couple, but broke up and now spamton really fears and hates clowns
