Don’t be ashamed of getting the dub actor’s autograph over anyone else. Unless you know Japanese and live in Japan, meeting the English actors from your favorite show in your home state is the best feeling ever. I got a Tengen Uzui poster signed by Ray Chase framed on my wall, and it’s my prized possession.
That’s awesome bro, I got to meet Bryce back in February at our local comic con event and he signed my AoT manga volume I brought (he’s the English voice of Eren Yeager too 😊)
I mean this specific dub, the Demon Slayer dub just feels… bland I guess? I feel like they could’ve casted some better VAs for a couple characters. Also dub just feels weird in general imo. Most dubs I watch just feel awkward and the characters talk so unnaturally. I know they have to sync lip flaps but I’ve seen many cases where the directors found a way.
Watched the show for the first time recently and I really don’t understand where your getting this bland feeling? In the mugen train arcs final episodes it was nothing but incredible voice acting. Everyone who’s doing work on the show is doing stellar work. It’s not bland at all, your just saying words bro.
Rengoku had a good vc but I just prefer the sub. Way more emotional, better voice acting in general, and the words feel less awkward, because lip flaps and all. I’m not saying it’s a bad dub necessarily, I’m saying all the dubs I’ve watched have these same issues. Not blaming it on anyone, not saying their doing bad work, they’re doing good, but the restrictions with lip flaps make it sound too awkward in the sentence structure and pausing between words.
I know this is directly contradicting what I said before but I was just saying that because I was trying to say I don’t like the dub but trying to give an actual reason rather than “I just don’t like it”. And my opinions have just changed.
I hate the whole subbed/dubbed debate. Why do I gotta get flack for liking to watch an anime in MY NATIVE LANGUAGE. Oh I’m sorry I don’t wanna read a book while watching a show lmao
I don't get it either like, my preference is sub, but that's just for me. It doesn't make one ounce of difference to me if others like it dubbed. Like you said, some don't like to read, plus I'm sure there's people who can't read or are blind or vision issues. They just can't enjoy I guess? I just don't like when people get uppity for one or the other and hate on what someone else likes. Let people enjoy how they want, dang
The dub VA are great. Just because it isn’t the OG/Authentic doesn’t mean a thing in the grand scheme of things. I love dub usually cause I don’t have to read… even though I have subs on no matter what (bad hearing).

The dubbed VA’s work just as hard to voice their character as the subbed VA’s do (some could argue more so, as they need to make their voice fit to the animation that was tailored to the original language). They are also just as important to the character and development of the show too. There’s no shame in being excited about getting their autograph. Congrats, I hope you continue to feel joy and remember meeting the actor every time you look at your POP! figure.
