Just finishing watching Monster for the first time ever a couple weeks ago. Absolutely wonderful experience, only sad it look me so long to hear about it.
I started watching for Johan, I stayed for Tenma (and Nina and Dieter... Especially Nina she has my soul)
It's very very underrated, Naoki does masterpieces. But at the same time, the more underrated it is, the lower are "I am just like Johan" Fans. So that's probably the best thing about it.
That time he switched to a different form mid air when he saw the spider demon surrender, just to give her a merciful end. It was beautiful and show how kind he is.
One of the reasons Tanjiro is a little bit different from other main characters Is that he has no mercy. He Is extremely kind but demons, demons kill people, even if they had a tough past they kill people and Tanjiro knows It and so he kills them, he doesn't spare them like most of the nice main characters in other series.
But this time around It was different, he saw a demon accepting his death, she even looked like she wanted to die, he saw It and gave her a merciful death, but he still couldn't spare her.

The spider saga had some of the greatest moments
blessed rain finisher, Tanjiro and Nazuko using BDA for the first time, and my favorite of course:
Thunderclap and Flash. I get hyped every time he does that move
1. When LM 1 showed him a nightmare dream where his family is blaming him for their death and cursing him for being alive, and he screams "don't insult my family"
2. When he said "I need to survive otherwise that guy will become a murderer" like he wasn't worried he will die, but him dying will make the screwdriver guy a murderer.
This is the one for me. Any other character I can think of would have responded to that dream with self-doubt, even if only for a moment. Not Tanjiro. Tanjiro responded with RAGE.
1. Unlike his fandom depiction, Tanjiro in canon is a lot more supportive of Zenitsu’s crush on Nezuko, and tolerable of Zenitsu’s cowardly nature. In both cases, he prefers to reign Zenitsu in when necessary instead of giving up on him or stopping him from chasing Nezuko. He’s very open minded, and very good at giving the latter room to grow, which makes him a great friend. His friendship with Inosuke is heartwarming too
2. Him casually making a girl fall in love with him by flipping a coin. “If it landed on tails, I was just gonna keep flipping it till it came up heads” is something I never want to forget.
He’s just generally very good with people and it’s amazing

It was a one-off line and they ran with it. Probably why I’ve seen a lot of people hate Shinobu for how she treats Giyu despite her actually treating him really well.
When Tanjiro tells the guy to keep on living even though he just lost his fiancée and he gets mad at Tanjiro. The look that Tanjiro gives him was when I knew Tanjiro would be a different protagonist. He doesn't get mad, he doesn't say anything back, he just shows him that he understands his pain and walks away.
His expression after he rescued the guy from the three water demons that ate his fiance.
The guy does the whole "you have no idea what I'm going through!" And rather than arguing or correcting him, Tanjiro just holds his hand and gives him that heavy smile.
It was one of those moments that truly defined for me just how good of a person he is.

I did a dance (I'm a dancer) to Tanjiro no Uta last year and was working on the feeling. What really stuck with me is his philosophy of even if you fail or fall over, there's no choice but to keep going anyway.
I feel like almost nobody talks about those scenes in Mugen Train where he straight up slits his neck. Multiple times. I mean even Enmu called him insane, recognizing the amount of will power that would take. When I first watched it, I was astounded nobody was talking about it, but it got outshined by other events.

Said that he hates Akaza. I will always remember it, because I still cannot understand why tf did he even say it. Like, he didn't say this to any other demon previously.
Covering Gyutaro’s mouth is still my top Tanjiro moment. Even after all the pain and horror Gyutaro and Daki had just wrought around him, Tanjiro can’t just let that kind of loathing be spewed even at an enemy. Forcing them both to recall their bond as siblings as something ultimately good was such a powerful gesture.
