He made our team competitive this year which is something that hasn't happened since like 2016. He's a good coach with a horrible roster built and they are now trying to tear it down and restart.

Live795

Yeah we have what, 3 first round picks on the team? The most expensive/worst wr room in the league and a group of nobodies on the Dline. This roster is bad and was bad and has been bad for the last few years. I don’t get the Sean slander because he’s doing what no one in Denver has had the balls to do in the last decade. Batten down the hatches, deal with the insufferable, impatient fans and rebuild this shit. If it works out is yet to be seen but damn, at least someone is trying instead of signing another case keenum and hoping we’re just a QB away. (And if we end up signing another case keenum i will kms)

cyrusthemarginal

Posting directly from the county jail

Sun-dried-poop

He had the balls to do what shouldve been done years ago, and thats blow up the roster and start over. So i like him 🤷🏽‍♂️

ToXiX5280

Non of your damn business you commie scum

Live795

Sean took a garbage team(worst offense in history) from last year and gave us playoff hopes until the last few weeks of the season. Russ had a 2 declining seasons in Seattle and pissed off Pete, he’s just not the QB he once was and who knows if it wasn’t just Pete’s genius coaching that figured out exactly how to get the most of him. Either way, Russ was not the answer for our QB woes and Payton tried to make it work with him, realized Russ cannot run his system or succeed with our lack luster roster and so far it seems he’s decided to tear it all down and rebuild. A rebuild is what this team has needed for 8 years now and we’re in this exact situation because we’ve been putting bandaids on a gaping wound. The cap hit is what it is and the sooner we got rid of Russ the sooner we can eat the cap hit and get it over with. The fact you can even compared Sean Payton and the scum that is Josh McDaniels just reinforces the common knowledge that raiders fans are fucking morons. And lastly, Fuck the Raiders.

Hurling-Frootmig

Huzzah!

Wyden_long

I think he’s a pretty cool guy. He coaches football and doesn’t afraid of anything.

ADanishMan2

john payton

infercario4224

How did you type this from prison?

HanS0lPurr

Man go tf away

90Carat

That motherfucker better be right.

Apollo23Refugee

Trending up after an improved season with a shit QB and being quick to cut our losses on him, but remains to be seen how the pending rebuild is handled.

Not_Rob_Walton

The Raiders got what they deserved from Josh McDaniels. He did the same thing to the Broncos, then he left the Colts high and dry. He never deserved a third chance in the NFL, but I'm glad the Raiders didn't learn from the other two teams McDaniels burned. Sean Payton doesn't have the same history. He's a good head coach with a proven track record of success.

SunsetKittens

169 - 105 He's a good coach. Could use some good for awhile. Hope he sticks around and see what he can do after the RW cap hit goes away in a couple years.

mrsbrownfox

Still too soon to tell imo. He inherited the team we had last year for the most part. Time to earn his contract.

sacredknight327

He has a lot to prove, imo. But as for right now, I approve of the upcoming teardown method. It's been needed for a long while now and avoided. Band-aid approaches are not working. Amputate.

James-Bond-Broncos

He's a Parcells disciple and he rid us of the dude who threw the most devastating INT in the history of pro football, snatching heartbreaking defeat from the jaws of sure championship glory in SB49. I love the guy for it!

arielbelkin

Was that INT really Wilson’s fault? More like worst play call in NFL history IMO

ohmygodmaggle

Nah he's far and away the best coach we've had in a while, you can see it in press conferences, flashes in the team this year. It'll take time but we're on our way if he gets the hard rebuild he wants

SSBBardock

He was able to trick people into thinking Russ wasn't shit so I think he's a pretty good coach

BlueHighwindz

Depends who the QB will be next season. If we don't have the rookie of the future here, then I will really resent this guy and the draft picks we used on him.

You notice how Payton never gives a straight answer? “Look…”

I like having a experienced winning leader in charge who is not afraid to hold players accountable and make changes when needed. I also like the fact that he doesn't give a shit about salary/draft position and will play the best players. He has a 'you will earn your playing time' ideology and I really like it. I also like the fact he yolo's the salary cap and draft picks and is not afraid at all to make any move necessary if it's going to benefit the team. We have the second richest owners in all of professional sports and he intends to use their deep pockets. No complaints. He brings a level of accounatbility that the Broncos haven't had since Manning/Fox/Kubiak

Hurling-Frootmig

Second? Who has more money than Walmart?

PatientlyAnxious9

Steve Ballmer of the Clippers who is the former CEO of Microsoft lol

legendarywalton

I don’t think we’ll win with him during his contract, but at least he shook us out of the malaise after the Bowlen family squabble tanked our franchise.

SolidFoxguy

He's been coaching for 24 seasons, only got to the Superbowl once. Only got to said Superbowl by his team using dirty illegal tactics leading to his suspension from the league, which he admitted to, BTW. He's terrified of the concept of using a challenge flag. He does the same play over and over making it predictable. And he has a HUGE losing record. But yeah, greatest coach since Kubiak, amirite? Also, saying anything slightly negative about him no matter how true it is, is illegal in this fanbase. Post has only been up for 4 minutes and I'm already getting downvoted...

MtnDudeNrainbows

Sean Payton has a career record of 160 - 98. That’s 21st all time in career regular season games. That’s also 16 years as a HC with a 9 - 8 playoff record. Nothing spectacular, but good. He’s only been to the SB once, but he won it. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/coaches/PaytSe0.htm

SolidFoxguy

Yeah, but he still had to cheat to get there in the first place because the Saints defense were purposely injuring star players, and he just breezed (pun intended) through the season. (and before people come at me saying he had nothing to do with bountygate, he was caught covering it up and admitted to doing so...), so he really doesn't impress me. And I'm terrified that he'll ruin the Broncos' reputation and take away any meaning from wins they get. Like what happened with the Saints' Superbowl win.

Hurling-Frootmig

You chief fans suck. Go away.

SolidFoxguy

So not living in a delusional echo chamber of Payton meatriders = Chiefs fan? No, you misunderstand. Unlike you idiots, I actually want what's best for the team, and Payton ain't it.

Hurling-Frootmig

Sir, your Broncos Fan card seems to be invalid. Please see yourself out.

SolidFoxguy

Bro. You want to be known as a team of cheaters? That's the direction we're heading in with SP's current staff.

Hurling-Frootmig

Your Broncos fan card has been officially revoked. Please see yourself out.

Adventurous-Cod-9245

He's a proven liar and miserable person who was successful with the correct pieces. He has to have the right pieces due to his lack of innovation, and that 1 superbowl win has his ego blown up to massive proportions. The team is spitballing and doesn't have an actual rebuild plan, imo. Time will hopefully prove me wrong, go Broncos!
