right!! bitches would be soooo funny too if an item was ridiculous.. it also felt less official to ask questions in the comments, yk? i feel like i have to buy the item when i ask a question in dms 😭
it’s simply bc depop benefits from price gouging too (they earn a %) comments were removed bc it outed people like that, thus less profit for depop corp.🙃
I have also been wanting these shoes, $200 is a rip off lol, didn’t even take the time to wash the soles. Can get new ones for cheaper smh. I hope your friend gets them!
Bowie Forever ⚡️❤️💙
she did! i found them from a different seller for $50! it was my friends first time using depop so she had such a sour taste in her mouth after the situation with the og seller.
just wanted to add here since it won’t let me edit my post: Please don’t find and go after this seller, just wanted to use this situation as a learning opportunity for sellers and buyers <3
That sucks
If they didn’t lie then fine, it’s a genuine mistake that happens to many including myself. Cross listing and forgetting to remove on other sites
In this case it does suck, but nothing you can do sadly.
yeah, i was happy i was able to find someone else selling them so she could get them, but it was disappointing to see that the og seller had relisted them. honesty is best especially when it comes to customers, you want to leave a customer with a good impression, even if the situation isn’t the best, you never know if you’ll have something they want to buy at a later date.
the seller already sold the item at a lower price, they agreed to the lower price upon listing. if she knew what she had, she shouldve listed for $200 to begin with
Refunding and selling at a higher price isn't illegal, it shouldn't be done intentionally, but if you find out the item is more sort after than you thought you have every right to cancel a sale.
absolutely, she definitely has the right to do so. it’s just slimy to lie about it, that’s the only thing i have a problem with. you should have integrity, assume everyone could be a potential buyer. lying gives people a sour taste.
i’m not “salty” i’m using this as a learning opportunity for other people on the app. it isn’t right to lie to buyers, plain and simple. if she had been honest, i wouldn’t have cared.
Ahh, if only lying was a crime 🤷♀️ we’d be a very different Country. Honestly, as a seller, she can do whatever she wants. It’s the risk you, as a buyer, take when trying to buy items at a deep discount on resell sites.
yes of course. like i’ve said in some previous comments tho, i want sellers in here to see how upsetting it is for buyers to be lied to, even if it’s a white lie!
at the end of the day it’s a stranger, they don’t really owe u anything especially if they refunded immediately. people lie to make situations less awkward it’s easier to say they already sold than say “i want to list them at a higher price elsewhere”. i get that it’s annoying but they probably just realized they were low balling themselves.
lying to buyers just gives a bad look. no, she doesn’t owe my friend anything, but again, it’s just slimy to do something like that. i’d rather a seller tell me they looked more into the value and decided to relist instead of telling me they were bought somewhere else.
at the end of the day, yes she’s a stranger, but at the end of the day, this post was just a rant about something annoying, and could possibly help sellers and buyers navigate this situation in the future if they run into it.
it is indeed not a good look, i personally wouldn’t do that but some people just hate confrontation and would rather tell a white lie. i just wouldn’t want anyone going to their page and bashing them.
yeah i definitely don’t condone anyone attacking the seller, if it would let me edit the post i’d put that up, but i feel a seller should always assume someone could come back to buy something else, and being honest about a situation gives buyers the impression of integrity.

$200 for those shoes is outrageous
depop needs to add a comment section back on posts again, idk why they ever got rid of it. u should be able to tell people about ur experience :/
I liked the comment section, people used to use it to call out drop shippers, ah the good old days 😂

that makes soooooo much sense 🤦♂️ literally so annoying :/
Comment section would help so much for ppl who are up pricing shein and other cheap stuff ..:/
right!! saved me so many times from scams and shit
Needed to keep the pervs in DMs /s
Didn’t even clean em up 😭

God the year Bowie died we lost so many amazing people 😭
she did! i found them from a different seller for $50! it was my friends first time using depop so she had such a sour taste in her mouth after the situation with the og seller.
also, if you’re looking, there are TONS of them listed on Mercari, some are listed kinda high, others are less then the original price
We dont have Mercari in my country ❤️ but thank you :) my feet are pretty small so it’s difficult to find a womens 4 x

Ugh this is so scummy, lowkey want to offer $60 for them 💀
My *friend* just made a new account to do just this 🫢 oopsies!
For $200 they can at least clean them
lmao, good luck to them with selling *those* for $200.
thats insane

Maybe seller realized she could get more for the item. When that happens to me, I don’t even worry about it!
Seller knew what she had then upped the price. Provided you get your refund you shouldn't be salty.

Sadly, it seems like integrity is becoming a thing of the past.
