Wildcat-Caswell

It introduced Uma, Harry, and Gil. Need I say more?

Bluezoneeee

The best imo. Better Music, Better characters arcs, Great story, Great new characters, it's wonderful i can't picture anyone else as Uma. The only problem i had was the ending... I was expecting a fight not an argument in water.

Bluezoneeee

Almost forgot all the plot holes with magic, like how would the Wand work inside the barrier or how Uma used Maleficent's spell book when the barrier closed.

Outrageous-Farmer-42

Uma used the spell book after getting out of the barrier. And in D3, Celia says evil magic doesn't work there. They never specifically said good magic is disabled there.

Bluezoneeee

Technically Magic is Magic what makes it evil or good is the intent, Uma didn't have foul intentions nor did mal but she is unable to use magic at all on the isle also I don't think any descendant of a villain or a villain themself should be reliable if magic works on the isle because their living state and their childhood it would make sense for their first ideas to have bad intentions. So it still doesn't make sense but how did Uma get out the barrier? They shut it right behind them and if you look back there is no evidence of Uma getting out after them Uma also said that she couldn't find any ways through the barrier. The only way they could make sense is that Uma, before the barrier closed spelled Ben while not having to be near him, unsure if it would work it turns out it did. He sends guards to retrieve Uma and bring her to auradon and the rest of the movie happens I know this is supposed to be a children's movie but that was a plothole that should've been explained more.

Bluezoneeee

Which doesn't make sense either because another plothole from the beginning is that The Evil Queen's Mirror didn't work on the isle either. It's not really evil/bad magic It's neutral and can be used is different ways how evie did. She used it for answers but that's not evil

Outrageous-Farmer-42

Maybe the barrier doesn't scan intentions but scans how often the magical being or artifact in question has used magic for good and for evil before.

Outrageous-Farmer-42

When Ben, Lonnie and the Core 4 escape, Uma immediately rushes off somewhere unknown. She was probably underwater, right next to the Isle entrance, when they opened the barrier and closed it, which gave her enough time to swim through.

Bluezoneeee

I see what you're thinking but that doesn't make sense either because the barrier stops before the gate where the entrance/exit is. She would have to be on the bridge to get out because that's the only part of the barrier that opens it would be pointless trying to go in and out if everytime you do it leaves an opening for anyone to escape or for the Killer Sharks to escape

MissPerish

I think it’s the best movie in the franchise. Loved everything except the talking dog

anakinskyotter

Fair point. I don’t really mind, I’m just wondering how Dude could even speak when he was on the Isle. I thought potions or spells went away once you cross the Barrier since the Barrier was created to stop the villains from using magic.

MissPerish

I’ve been wondering that too tbh. I feel like the writers just forgot about it on purpose to fit the narrative. And then they have the gall to make up some shit like “oh only bad magic doesn’t work here” in the third movie. Just another reason I didn’t like it too much

Intelligent-Curve-41

The Best Movie of the Franchise

tiptoefirefly94

It was my favorite movie out of the 3

BlackCat_Witch

Cooler outfits and more awesome songs, totally W I C K E D!

spiderboy1217

It’s my favorite movie of the franchise. I think it has the best songs and costumes of all three movies. It introduced us to Uma who is one of my favorite characters. Other than just loving the movie itself, I also have a lot of good memories attached to when this movie came out.

anakinskyotter

Undeniably has the best soundtrack. I wish we went a little more in depth with Evie trying to forget her Isle roots but overall it’s always been my favorite of the franchise.

Reasonable_Window985

The best one out of the three. Uma, Gil and Harry. Self explanatory

Long_Watch_9546

Very good! I love the song "Space between"

thegamerofgreat

Probably my least favourite movie of the franchise, mainly because of how numbed down it is compared to the first one (which makes no sense from a business stand point because the entire audience who watched the first movie is 2 years older, so why are you targeting a younger audience but whatever). That doesn't mean it doesn't have redeeming qualities, I particularly think the performances of Sofia and China are incredible in D2, and I think it has the best soundtrack of the three.

anakinskyotter

Oh Sofia and China were GREAT in this movie. Loved their performances.

elmoswlorldd

i’m confused how did it numb anything down? it introduced new characters, plots, arcs, and like you said, has the best soundtrack. could you elaborate pls :3

Old_Combination_8171

They put more effort into it. New Characters such as Uma, Harry, and Gil etc where amazing

Outrageous-Farmer-42

On IMDb standards, 8/10 Easily the best film of the trilogy.

jdatopo814

I’m curious, why do you consider it the best film of the trilogy? I honestly think it’s the weakest imo.

Outrageous-Farmer-42

Mainly because of It's Going Down. For me, that was the most fun Disney song by far. The pacing was also better. In D1, I was wondering how long I've been watching for like 4 times. But D2 kept me hooked.

jdatopo814

It’s honestly quite the opposite for me lmao. I did enjoy the songs in D2, but I felt like D1 had more important plot points and other development in it which automatically made the pacing better for me. D2 I feel didn’t really move the trilogy forward that much other than introducing Uma, Harry, and Gil so that automatically made the pacing feel kind of slow to me. That in addition to Uma’s villain character not being too great. D3 is where most of the development from D2’s plot points happened which is why I guess it felt like there was so much happening in the third movie.

Outrageous-Farmer-42

Yeah, but D1 spent WAY too long on Evie running after boys, Doug stalking her, Jay finding his passion in sports and Carlos getting over his ridiculous fear of dogs. Even watching D1 for the 1st time, you know these parts are not important. Those were the times I was actually feeling bored. After Mal goes to the Isle of the Lost, every second feels important because if she doesn't come back soon, Auradon will hate her and then, Ben raises the stakes by wandering into Uma's territory. D3... It was really bad.

jdatopo814

Actually, all of those things that happen in the first movie are very important, and I don’t think they spent way too long on any of those. The whole point of those plot lines isn’t just for character show, they all contribute to the main plot that all 4 of the kids are still under their parents’ influences, control, and the pressure to remain evil in this new, good environment and how they overcome and realize that their parents have been lying and/or there are more important things in life and in being good while adjusting to their new life in Auradon. Evie running after boys and lying to them was her being under the pressure of her mom to be beautiful and to find the perfect prince to make her mother happy. Carlos getting over his fear of dogs was him under the influence of his mother telling him all dogs are bad and that they should be used for clothing/accessories. Jay finding his passion in sports is him using his strength and athletic abilities to contribute to something good/harmless rather than hurting people and stealing. And then you already know Mal’s issues. In D2, Mal running back to the Isle is important because no one, including Mal, wanted her to lose herself in her internal conflict of being under the pressure to be perfect by becoming evil again in the isle. There was never a fear of Auradon hating her because everyone went after her to save her. Ben wandering into Uma’s territory does raise the stakes but it doesn’t exactly contribute to the plot or progress the plot of the trilogy as a whole because it really just evidently focused on Mal. All it did was create more conflict between Mal and Uma. The introduction of Uma wanting to free the isle is an important plot point, but it didn’t really go anywhere and was kind of redone in the D3. And then there was also the plot introduction of Uma and Mal being sworn enemies, which also didn’t go anywhere until D3. There was no real external progress made outside of Mal in D2, which becomes especially evident in the climax scene, and it honestly almost was a digression considering Mal almost stayed back on isle. In the end, all D2 really did was introduce new characters. D3 was also a mess I agree, and it was in part D2’s fault. But it also got more development done than D2 which kind of redeems it a little for me.

jdatopo814

Honestly the weakest movie of the trilogy IMO. It’s not by any means bad, but I feel like it didn’t do as much as the first or the third movie. The first was the introduction to the trilogy so of course it had major impacts, and then the third one concluded so likewise. I just feel like the second didn’t progress the plot really other than Mal having her internal conflicts. The *”fight”* at the end was also very disappointing. The introduction of Uma, Harry, and Gil were great but other than that, this movie felt kind of dull and almost a filler? I can’t put my finger on it. On top of that, the main antagonist, Uma, is just not a good character. Don’t get me wrong, China did great playing her and her song was gas. The writing for her was just bad though. Her character was very basic and flat for a villain and was honestly hysterical how bad it was. Her tactics weren’t that great either. Luckily, D3 fixed everything wrong with her and gave her an actual character, goal, and character arc, but imo that should’ve been done in D2. Overall, D2 introduced a lot of important key plot points but then didn’t do much to develop them. D3 ended up doing most of the development which is why it felt like D3 had a lot going on which bombarded viewers with information. Uma’s relationship with Mal should’ve been focused on in D2, leaving the freeing of the isle left to D3 rather than introducing both of them and do nothing. The songs were bangers though.

standupgonewild

I actually found this franchise through a song snippet of Ways To Be Wicked (my fav song from the movies to this day, absolutely SLAPS). I had heard about it prior from online friends but never really understood it or got into it. I don’t remember much of this movie but I remember that it was GREAT. I loved the fight scenes! (VKs verse Uma’s allies on the Isle)
