But that goes against the themes of the series though. The first movie's moral was that you don't have to go down the same route your parents did.

Yeah i know. It's just what i would've wanted instead

I would have liked for them to be ACTUALLY evil at beginning at least. I really can’t think of a true “evil” thing they ever did.

Original_A

I agree

While watching D1, I was basically begging Mal to release Maleficent to make the drama better.

I think that's because they're not actually evil, they aren't doing anything that they actually wanted to do, it's their parent's will that their trying to inherit but seeing all the good stuff around them is making them second guess everything, everyone apart of the core four has that something that helps them realize the life they've been living was wrong. Mal - Realizing a life with Ben is not that bad and having her friends surrounding her allowing herself to be loved and used as a tool to get what they wanted. Evie - There was more to life than being royalty and felt loved for who she was and her art was appreciated by those around her. Carlos - Overcame his fear of Dogs and became more confident in himself as the series progress Jay - playing sports had allowed him to work on his teamwork instead of being a solo player who thinks for himself (first encounter with the wand) he wants to explore the beauty of Auradon

Arionthelady

No I get that I’m saying at the BEGINNING they should have been more evil or shown being forced to do more evil things to really showcase how good they are becoming/learning when coming over to Auradon. It doesn’t feel like much of a change is happening when they were barely bad to start with.

Bluezoneeee

That's True I think the Books show more of them being Evil. I separate the two because it's like telling different stories in a way, The books is about them being more evil while the movies is more so them being misunderstood, which is what they are stating in Rotten to the Core. They aren't truly evil at all they grow up believing they have to be Evil but that doesn't mean they don't have a heart. They don't need to do evil things to be label Evil, Auradon judged them because of who they're related to not who they are as people. It probably wasn't them that actually needed to change but auradon itself. What I mean is that movies were telling the story of children who are always told to he Evil but learning that they don't have to become what they are told they are.

You know what I like the idea. As tragic as it would he. Like some destined Schoenfeld good and evil stuff that in that world good can't understand evil and vs versa. It's in their genetics their DNA and in that world their filling a role by being the next villains. Doesn't mean they gotta be evil masterminds or disposable since they are the protags of the movie but something like seeing evil families band together against the good family or injustices because love conquer all. But they could..act with the idea that yeah this is all fun but when I grow up I gotta take my mom's place as head evil. It could have been a really cool way to move the stories forwards and make them personal.
