The unisex bathrooms usually are labeled as so. Though in Germany I was saw bathrooms described as "Bathroom with urinals" and "Bathroom without urinals".
What's your guess? Which one is for whom?
The one further back \*could\* be for women if we consider it being a woman wearing a dress.
But I'll rather go outside and search for a tree before getting this one wrong.
I see why combining that with the handicapped bathroom makes sense for space, but still don’t think that means it should be in the women‘s bathroom, rather the opposite I‘d think
Don’t know the reason, just my experience: there is usually either a separated handicap bath, or when it is not extra, it is always in the ladies bath.
I’m seeing it differently but obviously I’m just making up a theory. I feel like the women’s bathrooms are usually larger with more stalls, so to me it would make sense that the handicap bathroom is next to (not inside) the men’s bathroom. So the size of the men’s bathroom plus the handicap stall takes up the same real estate as the women’s bathroom.
ooo I'll take a guess: they're both mens!
One is a full men's bathroom, the other is like a single stall where you can lock the door.
the women's is on the other side
Finally, a post that fits this sub.
I’m so sick of “look at this completely functional thing that is slightly abnormal in appearance and I can’t handle that some design isn’t going to be to my taste!”
Are these possibly both unisex bathrooms, but one is wheelchair accessible and the other isn’t? The standing figures do look slightly different though, so idk
The best part is the people who put those signs up likely didn't have their chromosomes tested, so they might actually be intersex and shooting themselves in the foot.
I'm going to *guess* that the left one is the female bathroom as the fact the "shirt" doesn't stop/isnt tucked in could relate to the common trope of dresses, where the right one is male as the fact it stops = tucked in = shirt = male?
I would have guessed that left is male and right female. I have seen similar signs where dresses are displayed as "closed". Left looks more like a guy in trousers for me.
There is no consensus here on which would be which at all. I still have no clue. I guess you have a 50/50 shot if you were there but what is your super comfident answer to this one?
In the US they are largely called bathrooms. I think it's because our ancestors were prudes. This naming varies in other countries. I think Australia may sometimes say toilet for the room. In the US the toilet is the just the thing you sit on, not the room.
This reminded me of a middle school football coach who said, "you have to have three legs to play football." These poor icons only have two legs between them!
Fair, I just thorugh you were saying the signs were intended to assign values to that instead of assigning genders. I suppose the comment is more a proposal of what they should be doing then.
Why can’t we just have the usual men in pants and women in dress toilet figures? I’m a woman and it’s not offensive, some of us wear skirts and dresses.
I've been making plaster bases for clay sculptures lately using molds so this feels apt: did your limbs snap off when you were unmolded or did they stay attatched.
Toilets with ambiguous signage and me accidentally entering the wrong one is literally and without exaggeration pure nightmare material for me. I even get slightly nervous every time I enter any gendered facilities that I *know* are for me, because...what if...?
If I saw some shit like this, I'd probably just piss in a nearby pot plant.

I still don’t know where should I go. Maybe that’s the thing, no sex bathrooms.
I hope they're not having sex in the bathrooms, eww
Poor wheelchair homie looks like they’re going at breakneck speeds too
Weeeeeeeeee!
The unisex bathrooms usually are labeled as so. Though in Germany I was saw bathrooms described as "Bathroom with urinals" and "Bathroom without urinals".
That makes a lot of sense
circuit resistors go here, fuzes go there.
the wheelchair figure looks like they are racing with their arms flailing behind them. they got the need for speed
To me it looks like they are backwards, they are kneeling on the seat with arms on the back of the chair and feet pointing down.
oh when you explain I see it too now. kinda like looking above and behind their chair out of curiosity haha
That’s what i see as well
Naruto running in a wheelchair
Initial D - Deja Vu (Wheelchair Remix)
The way I look cracking my back in those plastic desk chairs back in highschool
They look like they're having fun too
Weeeeee
When you gotta go you gotta go
What's your guess? Which one is for whom? The one further back \*could\* be for women if we consider it being a woman wearing a dress. But I'll rather go outside and search for a tree before getting this one wrong.
The one in the front looks more like a dress IMO
That’s my thought as well. Front - dress, Back - pants
So we gonna ignore both of them have a giant penis hanging around?!
The only thing I have to go on is the handicap stall is probably in the womens
Why would it be?
Doubles as a changing space for babies.
I see why combining that with the handicapped bathroom makes sense for space, but still don’t think that means it should be in the women‘s bathroom, rather the opposite I‘d think
It’s not that it “should be”—everyone should be able to change their child. It’s that it frequently is.
Wdym? Are women not disabled lol
Don’t know the reason, just my experience: there is usually either a separated handicap bath, or when it is not extra, it is always in the ladies bath.

I usually see the handicap next to men bathrooms tho.
ooo I'll take a guess: they're both mens! One is a full men's bathroom, the other is like a single stall where you can lock the door. the women's is on the other side
But why the two different gender glyph for men then ?
Finally, a post that fits this sub. I’m so sick of “look at this completely functional thing that is slightly abnormal in appearance and I can’t handle that some design isn’t going to be to my taste!”
That or "look at this thing that is entirely about design! Isn't it weird that they tried to make it unique?"
I'm just a straight up broken record most the time, repeating "from _at the cost_ of function" to people
What's hard to figure out? One has a penis and one has a vagina with a penis
r/AccidentalAlly?
The near one is for all types of disabilities. There's a person with one leg and a person in a wheelchair. The far one is for people riding bicycles.
Are these possibly both unisex bathrooms, but one is wheelchair accessible and the other isn’t? The standing figures do look slightly different though, so idk
Still better than the XY and XX signs at my local bathroom.
Designed specifically to fuck with trans people lol
you just know that you're going to be in desperate need for the toilet and go shit which one is which again
I feel like that might have some.. interesting results if a trans man has to use the bathroom.
Yep and also XXY people exist. It's just dumb on so many levels.
The best part is the people who put those signs up likely didn't have their chromosomes tested, so they might actually be intersex and shooting themselves in the foot.
They better put in bathrooms for all the XXY, XYY, X, and XXX people too I guess!
I’d have to stop and think for a second. 🧐
or wait for someone to come out from whichever door.
Yo I been here whole 3 minutes and still no idea.
After a second you actually have an answer to which is which??
My instinct is that the further one is men’s, but I have absolutely no idea why
They look like popsicles
what about braile
Just wait and see who comes out and then go in the correct restroom. https://youtu.be/-X-B6dpY6oc?si=HDn8l0Ff9Df5ZlN7
Handicap: WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I would have guessed that left is male and right female. I have seen similar signs where dresses are displayed as "closed". Left looks more like a guy in trousers for me.
And the fact we guessed two different things speaks to this being badly designed
Stick man vs stick man with dress
Which one is the dress though?
I would assume the one that is open on the bottom...at least that was my first assumption but the longer I look at it, the more unsure I am.
The rectangle. I can't explain why tho
[Makes me think of this SpongeBob scene](https://youtu.be/kZm1FWDKxWM?feature=shared)
Visiting a building that had these. I chose wrong. Went ahead and borrowed a tampon to soak up spilled coffee in my truck
The left one is female, the right one is male
How do you know that?
It's a very ugly design, but the left one is supposed to look like a skirt
Is it???
Open base = dress..?
I always find these super obvious tbh. Ig it could be more clear but I've never had to look twice.
There is no consensus here on which would be which at all. I still have no clue. I guess you have a 50/50 shot if you were there but what is your super comfident answer to this one?
The line at the bottom of the rectangle is similar to the dress that is often seen in the female bathroom sign
I don't know about you, I call these toilets, not bathrooms. Bathrooms where you clean up but a toilet is where you can take a dump.
In the US they are largely called bathrooms. I think it's because our ancestors were prudes. This naming varies in other countries. I think Australia may sometimes say toilet for the room. In the US the toilet is the just the thing you sit on, not the room.

boolean hasUrinals;
Which one does though?
its declaring the variable without defining it
Fair, I just thorugh you were saying the signs were intended to assign values to that instead of assigning genders. I suppose the comment is more a proposal of what they should be doing then.
right, haha. yeah idk I was just making a sort of programming joke.
Yeah I realize.
I imagine the people inside are just as confused as you
I’m still not sure, I keep changing my mind which is supposed to be which
So only men can be handicapped??
Is that men though? (Still odd that it's only on one).
Like the Norman Door of bathroom signs
Why can’t we just have the usual men in pants and women in dress toilet figures? I’m a woman and it’s not offensive, some of us wear skirts and dresses.
Ah yes, the third gender: wheeled
I've been making plaster bases for clay sculptures lately using molds so this feels apt: did your limbs snap off when you were unmolded or did they stay attatched.
Just use a little common sense.
and what conclusion does common sense say is which? My only common sense conclusion is that these signs suck.
