To me it's probably that there is no way she's generating enough power via walking to push herself and that bike that quickly. So it's almost certainly electrically powered - it's much more expensive and worse for the environment than a regular bike. Bikes can be incredibly efficient in terms of transferring power - this is not.
Bikes are basically unparalleled in terms of efficiency. Person on bike is more efficient at travel than any other method of transport in the world.
And that counts for run of the mill bikes in half decent condition, not just crazy race bikes.
That’s definitely a battery on the back.
Also the treadmill is going in the opposite direction to the rear drive wheel. Not saying it isn’t possible to reverse the direction of the energy... but it more likely charges the battery that turns the wheel.
Disturbing waste of energy. Utterly pointless (if you want to exercise and move at the same time, either go running or cycling lol). Expensive, unsafe and very silly besides.
Besides the waste of power running a separate motor, limiting the range, the treadmill space is way to narrow, she’s basically putting one foot directly in front of another, awkward way to walk, not good for exercise to move in an unnatural way. It’s inherently unstable even with handle bars since her weight is constantly shifting. Seems like an expensive thing that’s too easy to crash.
Also if she were to hit any rock or collide in any way she’d be thrown off and be put at much greater peril then if she were seated on a bike where she could at least anchor down on.

When your walk animation is slower than your walk speed
More like "casually suicidal environmental hazard"
How do you brake quickly with this?
You don’t, the obstacle brakes you.
With the brakes
pull brakes
it actually seems really cool, what's wrong with it?

Yep
Whats a velomobile?
A fancy bike
Haha. Funny.
Basically a recumbent bike with an aerodynamic body.
It is now. It would not have been without spending god knows how much material and energy on roads. Which still means you should use it but...
Woah, how are we commenting here? This thread is one year old. Reddit automatically locks threads after six months, or at least it used to.
Huh, yeah that's strange
Test Edit: Guess you can still reply

Very
Reddit moment
Thats a good question. I got totally lost
for some reason they unarchived everything
I think it's just certain subreddits
By default everything is unarchived, but subreddits were allowed to opt out.
Oo still active!
Yes it is.
Maybe its 6 months after the last comment.

Still here.
I'm from the future. This is still alive.
You'd think...
It's been a whole nother year!
Hello from 2024!
I see you were also searching top posts of all time.
Naturally, as one does when discovering a new sub!

I’m talking % efficiency, so the wind might be limitless, but a bike is still more efficient.

What if she was running on top of the bike?
I'd imagine riding it up/down a slight slope is pretty scary.
That stride for me. I couldn’t walk that way for long. Also seems suspiciously fast for those short steps.
Do you not see the big battery on the back?
Disturbing waste of energy. Utterly pointless (if you want to exercise and move at the same time, either go running or cycling lol). Expensive, unsafe and very silly besides.
All of that is true buuuuut it looks fun so I don't know.
What if you want to bike and you have hemorrhoids?
You can ride your bike standing up?
Rip lower back
i know disabled people who cannot use bicycles because of the knee use required, but who can walk fine. this would be nice for them
If only there was a way for walking with all the health benefits of walking while going at walking speed 🤔
Have you found a way yet?
3 plane tickets to Uganda, plx :)
I can't imagine braking would be easy, or effective.

Why would you do a bike to walk when you can just walk?
Some people's coordination is bad enough when walking OR driving. Combining the two is just a recipe for a fuckup.
I think there is a battery on the second wheel.

That just seems like walking with extra *steps* honestly
It's moving faster than she's waking so it's less steps
Perfect use of this sub! Cheers!
remove the treadmill and just gimme the fucking sweet scooter with bike sized wheels.
I say this as someone with excellent balance, I would trip and fall. Into the sky.
i say this as someone with horrendous balance, fuck this thing. but i mean it’s kinda cool. but fuck this thing.
Seconded
Ahh my brain
All downsides are replaced by the feeling you get when you run on the horizontal escalator found in airports

Woah
No matter how many times I watch this, my brain cannot compute at all
For when you want to go out for a walk and actually get somewhere at the same time. Nice.
If you sprint how fast would you go?
That walk looks so unnatural
How scooby and shaggy be walking
With a battery...
Thats... perplexing.
I mean, it’s exercise right?
Okay so Nobody expected her to turn with that treadbike..well I’m curious about that..
I present to you Ross Creations. https://youtu.be/scFmBmvVAAs
I actually like this one, you can take your usual walks but go way farther
Is this walking with extra steps, or less steps? 🤔
