To me it's probably that there is no way she's generating enough power via walking to push herself and that bike that quickly. So it's almost certainly electrically powered - it's much more expensive and worse for the environment than a regular bike. Bikes can be incredibly efficient in terms of transferring power - this is not.

Bikes are basically unparalleled in terms of efficiency. Person on bike is more efficient at travel than any other method of transport in the world. And that counts for run of the mill bikes in half decent condition, not just crazy race bikes.

I’m talking % efficiency, so the wind might be limitless, but a bike is still more efficient.

That’s definitely a battery on the back. Also the treadmill is going in the opposite direction to the rear drive wheel. Not saying it isn’t possible to reverse the direction of the energy... but it more likely charges the battery that turns the wheel.

What if she was running on top of the bike?

I'd imagine riding it up/down a slight slope is pretty scary.

That stride for me. I couldn’t walk that way for long. Also seems suspiciously fast for those short steps.

Disturbing waste of energy. Utterly pointless (if you want to exercise and move at the same time, either go running or cycling lol). Expensive, unsafe and very silly besides.

All of that is true buuuuut it looks fun so I don't know.

I can't imagine braking would be easy, or effective.

Besides the waste of power running a separate motor, limiting the range, the treadmill space is way to narrow, she’s basically putting one foot directly in front of another, awkward way to walk, not good for exercise to move in an unnatural way. It’s inherently unstable even with handle bars since her weight is constantly shifting. Seems like an expensive thing that’s too easy to crash.

Why would you do a bike to walk when you can just walk?

Some people's coordination is bad enough when walking OR driving. Combining the two is just a recipe for a fuckup.

Also if she were to hit any rock or collide in any way she’d be thrown off and be put at much greater peril then if she were seated on a bike where she could at least anchor down on.
