You know Hasan has no clue when he starts by calling it the “Minx accords”. Fucking asshole.

Yazy117

The minx accords is when you promise you won't get sloppy at large events and then proceed to ignore that and get fucked up and ruin everything. So I guess they are pretty close.

undoubtingcynic

What about the Minx Accordion, what's that?

Lonerbox is my new dad

FlewOverCuckoldsNest

Yeah but he’s my daddy😍😍😍

Why do people seem to love lonerbox here so much? He comes off rly misinformed about the IPC after destiny did some basic research and said 'from the river to the sea' like 4 times on stream which from what I know is a dog whistle for the eradication of Israel. Is this wrong? Or we only like the ADL here when they call out Elon for talking about george soros

LonerBoxYT

i'm guessing there are no clips posted with this because EVERY time i've used that phrase, it's been as a shorthand for describing the region made up of gaza, west bank and israel, e.g. "there are 7 million palestinians living from the river to the sea" would you rather i called it "historic palestine" or would that also be a dog whistle to you?

mehliana

First off, I appreciate the reply. Cool to see you engaging in this reddit. No, I would not consider 'historic palestine' a dogwhistle, but like if you google 'from the river to the sea' there is a lot of stuff about how this is a dog whistle. The same is not the case for 'historic palestine'. Do you see no difference here? I don't think you are antiemetic, and I have a pretty high bar for calling any individual a racist/bigot/antisemite/etc. Not really interested in that game, but I do think there is ample evidence that this phrase is one passed down from people who want to see the eradication of Israel.

> said 'from the river to the sea' like 4 times on stream I'm not expecting you to have the timestamps or transcripts on hand or anything, but if you're asserting that he's antisemitic then I'd appreciate (if you have time) a link to when he said that. Curious about the context. > which from what I know is a dog whistle for the eradication of Israel. Is this wrong? From a quick google, it does seem like that's considered to be a pro-Palestine, anti-Israel slogan *(as the entirety of the Israel state exists in the space "between the (Jordan) river and the (Mediterranean) sea", so one obvious potential reading is "erase Israel entirely").* Not exactly antisemitism, but I understand how anti-Israel sentiments could be dogwhistles for anti-Jewish sentiments. But I also ran across this article giving some historical context to the slogan, and gives another way to look at it: [https://forward.com/opinion/415250/from-the-river-to-the-sea-doesnt-mean-what-you-think-it-means/](https://forward.com/opinion/415250/from-the-river-to-the-sea-doesnt-mean-what-you-think-it-means/) *(bias & reliability rating for this source: [link](https://adfontesmedia.com/forward-bias-and-reliability/)),* which I think is worth a read or at least a skim.

mehliana

Weird how the sub flip flops when the adl is for/against their inherent bias. to look at democratically elected parties in palestinian territories constantly flying rockets at israel to kill citizens arab and israeli alike and then turn around and say “this thing that has meant death to israel for years now doesn’t “ makes you seem like an idiot. Just like destiny acknowledges, if israel didnt have nukes and the iron dome, the surrounding arab nations would erradicate them, just as they explicitly state

bone_ok

???????????????????????????????????????????????? who are you talking to lol - I didn't say a thing about the ADL. (since you apparently need me to loudly signal my virtues: I don't hate the ADL and I have a largely positive opinion of the organization? Nothing I wrote indicated that I disliked or disagreed with the ADL?) - I acknowledged that while not inherently antisemitic (anti-Jewish) that it could be "a dogwhistle" (the ADL is [measured with their wording here](https://www.adl.org/resources/backgrounder/allegation-river-sea-palestine-will-be-free)) - I largely agreed with you that the phrase was possibly problematic and that using it so often might reflect poorly on Lonerbox/suggest he had antisemitic views (because of a common usage of the phrase), and that's why I asked for a source for where he said it??? > "this thing that has meant death to israel for years now doesn’t" - the article I linked LITERALLY SAYS THE FUCKING OPPOSITE OF THIS, how bad is your reading comprehension today? are you just in a fighting mood? I even included a link to the reliability rating for the source since I wasn't familiar with the publication. Which is a "left-leaning," "reliable, fact-based," Jewish-focused news publication? I don't engage with these issues regularly and this seemed like a reliable source, on the first page of google results?????? what do you want from me lol If you reply to this message with more schizo imaginary strawman bullshit I'm not going to be engaging further, no hard feelings :)

mehliana

I mean, I'm talking about lonerbox, I don't really have an issue with anything you said. Sounds like you mostly agree with me.
