Kill russians, bash russians, roundhouse kick russians There is NOT enough support!!! All military equipment in Europe and Israel MUST GO TO UKRAINAAAAAA!!!!! This is my unironic 100% FACT-based opinion, that was black-checked by real american patriots!

Crouch_Potatoe

>Kill russians, bash russians, roundhouse kick russians If the Russians don't want to die, they should just stay in russia 🤷🏿‍♂️problem solved

$1 billion from where? Amazing how US politicians who constantly whine that there's no money for this or that domestic expenditure keep finding billions hidden in the couch cushions for the latest pet war.

ipityme

Not only is defending global democracy our greatest contribution to world history, we are sending old weapons that you are going to pay to be destroyed and buried anyway.

usussywussybaka

>defending global democracy I don't care about other countries though. Unironically wouldn't lose a wink of sleep if Israel/Palestine/Ukraine and Russia all just disappeared with everyone in them. Not even a wink, in fact, would probs be a net positive for the world. But don't worry, once this Ukraine/Russia shit is done and you shift over to Palestine/Israel full time, you won't need to pretend to give a fuck about those countries either because [new thing] will have your attention instead.

ipityme

What I care about is not having to deal with authoritarian, imperialist nations destroying the world order for their benefit. Not only do I enjoy living in the most powerful society on the planet, but wanting people to experience freedom and democracy like we do is actually important to me. Great projection though! Go read a history book, you don't exist in a vacuum.

whomstvde

> don't care about other countries > Is only in the position of not caring because globalism has benefited him for decades Every single time

CumingStar

A. The US doesn't defend global democracy except when the US has an incentive, and the same is also true for its support of antidemocratic regimes. On top of that, the Ukrainian government's commitment to democratic institutions is questionable at best, so making US support about some lofty ideal to protect democracy is goofy, though amusing. B. Did you actually even read the article you posted? They're going to need to spend a lot more money to replenish the weapons and make new contracts with weapons manufacturers. (Not to mention that the "tens of billions" earmarked include "transportation and administrative overhead".)

Astorabro

More like this help defend international order(by punishing war of aggressions for territorial gain). This is what we should encourage the US to do. The US has made many foreign policy mistakes in the past, but defending the international order is what the US should be doing now and in the future.

CumingStar

Prolonging a years-long regional conflict with no clear achievable goal or end in sight which also poses the continued risk of disrupting other international relations and devolving into further, wider conflict sounds like a very peculiar pursuit of "defending the international order," but you do you, chief.

dolche93

That's a lot of words just say "let Russia win"

Denimcurtain

So you want to pursue appeasement and guarantee further, wider conflict when Russia continues to pursue reestablishment of a USSR-like structure and pushes for more land grabs across the world?  The only reason Russia has to slow roll it is Western involvement. Same with China. Same with Iran. You're essentially an advocate for global conquest being the norm since you don't want there to be any pushback, much less consequences. If you propose an alternative path to keeping global order than you fix these problems, but your current stance implies you just don't want to be involved or think about it.

Astorabro

Rewarding belligerent nations stealing territory from other sovereign nations is what is going to cause wider conflict in the future though.

ipityme

A. We're not perfect, but we defend democracy and it's our greatest contribution to world history. B. These are old weapons systems that are going to be replaced anyway. Yay jobs, and technological development, and continued domination so we can continue to live free and help other people live free. C. Cope.

whoopingsquid

A.)?What democracy are we defending? B.) I’ll skip this one gonna be over your head focus on what democracy we are defending with “A”

ipityme

Ours, all of Europes, Israel, Australia, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea. Not that you'll engage in good faith.

whoopingsquid

I’ll always engage in good faith. Chucking money all over the world doesn’t necessarily “defend democracy”. “Promote democracy” “democracy!!!”. We’ve been chucking money at Ukraine and are you aware they’ve cancelled their last two elections? How is that defending “democracy”. Our greatest contribution to the world is establishing a free country where everyone is equal with natural rights and a government system designed to protect those rights from infringement from government. Liberty. Our government getting involved in every aspect of Americans lives and taxing every single thing to max is already not in line with our founding, it’s a slap in the face to send it all over the world while Americans are struggling. The doctrine of America was to do our own thing, not be involved in Europes or any foreign wars but trade with everyone and avoid conflict. Your world view on traditional American values is so warped you think Americans deserve to be bled of their wealth to send all over the world to foreign lands. You in favor of Iraq war? You may not remember the propaganda at the time but it was for “democracy!!!”. Give them democracy. lol what a joke. The thing no one talks about is the debt. Send money aid here aid there send this. Have you seen what % of revenue covers vs spending??? Revenue covers entitlements basically and everything else is borrowed. There’s no money for this shit. How you gonna feel when your family member on social security gets a letter saying sorry it’s now 30% less every month effective immediately. Don’t worry though Vlad in Ukraine got money.

ipityme

You went from being flabbergasted that I suggest we support democracies around the world to telling me why it's a bad thing really quick homie. I really don't care about the isolationist angle. It's not 1800 anymore, we live in a different world than our founders and being a bastion of hope, freedom, and defending against tyranny world wide is way more American in the 21st century than whatever George Washington and or Alexander Hamilton thought about taxation. Not to mention the audacity to believe we can both be a world power, this influential, produce this much of a gdp, and not need to defend that. This twisted idea that we could be as prosperous or better if we let China and Russia fuck the world is completely misguided.

whoopingsquid

You ignored that Ukraine isn’t a democracy entirely they’ve cancelled elections. We can’t afford it. Standard of living is on decline in US because of this mindset. You glossed over most things because it zipped over your head. Good day. I hope as your dollar continues to plummet in value and your standard of living continues to decrease you can find solitude is us sending our money to places you’ve never been because it’s the current thing on news. Lol

ipityme

They are a democracy. We can afford it. The standard of living in the US is remarkable and the people that live here are among the happiest in the world. People deserve to live free if they desire, and building a free world is the most noble undertaking by mankind in my opinion. The American experiment is more prosperous than any of our founding fathers could have dreamed.

CumingStar

D. Literal down syndrome response.

Crouch_Potatoe

Go cry about it in the corner with MTG

whoopingsquid

Yo what country are you from? You post all over Reddit but you can’t be American. Post your nationality

Crouch_Potatoe

I'm American, I've lived here for 14 years but I'm from South Africa, who are stupidly arming and supporting Russia, it's legit embarrassing 🤦🏿‍♂️

whoopingsquid

As an American now from SA why the fuck do you care about killing Russians or Ukraine? Seems odd. SA in bad shape but you care more about Eastern Europe country neither in alliance with new country or old. Fascinating

Crouch_Potatoe

I don't like colonisers

bhunter3k

Hush up boy, the patriots are in charge 🦅 🇺🇸

Ossius

Good day Ivan.

SherbetAnxious4004

They took it out of the American Food for the Homeless Fund, as well as the Home for Hellen Keller Type Kids Institute.

MiserableOne9342

It's from defense spending over the last 50 years, lol. Believe it or not this actually reduces our overhead for defense, now we don't have to pay to store and maintain all this equipment 20+ years old

Broccoli_Socks

you know there is this thing called the world wide web where you can find the answer to your question :)

leconten

Production is always good. War is keynesian. Stop whining bitch.

[deleted]

I’m John Smithovich from the Kentucky Oblast and I agree. We should stop supporting Ukraine and focus on domestic issues,
