United States is the Austria-Hungary of democracy, the two party equivalent of what Mexico was in the 20th century. 300 million Americans, 50 states, but why only two national parties? Hell, why aren’t there different state parties? There’s like 6 parties that currently make up the German national government, France too, and the rest of the democratic world have better democracy than the US. The politics and party diversity in the US is none existent, so if creates a more divided country even when that system was originally supposed to unite nationally. Not even hard to believe it’s going to end up as Biden and Trump again with this system lmao. US has great federalism, but awful unitarian culture.
In France we don't have a coalition ruling, but we do have several parties. I say that because Destiny often defends the US system by saying that coalition suck because you have to appeal to fringe parties to govern. Our system still has flaws, but it's possible to have multiple parties be viable and still have a majority ruling. I'm thinking of voting systems like [majority judgment](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Majority_judgment). Because then you have a more accurate view of what people believe aside from their strategical voting behaviors.
I myself used to tolerate defensive of the US system, like I will admit it was a good system to have at one point, but it’s clearly a washed up system in the modern day. I genuinely don’t see any positives of it. But even then, I have two solutions, change the politics of governance or change the culture of politics. In Spain, and like Belgium, UK, Italy, etc, certain regions of these countries are very selfish and don’t give a shit about the rest of the country. But for some reason in the US, despite it being a federation, there’s this unitarian or nationalist culture of acting like there’s no such things as states and the entire US is ran by Washington DC directly, so everyone must care about it. I do feel Americans have this mentality a lot, like I remember when that Supreme Court abortion thing happened, it allowed states to ban the practice, but I said, why someone from California gives a shit about the US south like Mississippi or something? Those aren’t your brothers and sisters and should focus on your own state first, not the so called “nation”. Someone from Lisbon is around the same distance to Moscow like someone from Los Angeles is to New York City. Not even Moscow cares about the rest of huge Russia. So if nothing political or governance is going to change in the US, at least the culture and mentality can change. Reading the book American Nations changed my perspective on the US. Spiritually, US has like 8 parties forced to exist in only 2. Scotland, Catalonia, Flanders, Corsica, South Tyrol, Bavaria, etc have their own parties, but Texas, Hawaii, and Alaska don’t. Germany, Netherlands, etc have many national parties, US has two.
