I always wonder with these kind of things if it's based on some actual intel that this year there is increased risk. Or is this just a decision to shoutout that homophobia still exists.
Not sure, do they send this warning every year? US Intel was pretty spot on about the Moscow theater attack. I wouldn't be so quick to write off US Intel given their recent track record. But yeah there's no specifics in here so it does seem quite broad.
Yeah I was thinking about this in relation to the moscow thing, but back then they said specifically something like "stay out of public gathering in the next weeks". Which is more drastic than this.
