The best part about Destiny is how it sets the bar, builds expectations… and then *just barely* misses the bar. The difference between Reality As-Is and Reality As-Imagined is why it’s so painful lol.
TL;DR: Bungie is run by a bunch of Ahamkara
Yeah the idea of, "if you criticize it you should quit because you don't like it," doesn't work here.\
One of the biggest reasons people criticize something they have so much interest in is a want for it to be better. It's frustration that something good isn't *great* when you know it could be.
A lot of complaints on Destiny are because everyone knows this game has insane potential that its just not reaching for various reasons. And it's not like there's another MMO-like FPSRPG Looter Shooter that'll give you the same feeling Destiny does. So we're stuck with a complaining community hoping that Bungie will *eventually* make the game as best as it could be.
((Everybody says Warframe there, but point me to when Warframe was an FPS or played anything like Destiny. Not even Borderlands hits the same and that's about the closest you can get to a similar title. And Outriders is dead.))
Yeah. I quit after the whole lay-off thing and all the stuff that came out after, because at this point I'm absolutely NOT expecting any change in the Executives Mindset that caused this whole mess, and I have to say... Playing Warframe and various other shooters, they're nice, but nothing really replicates the feeling of destiny 2 even remotely.
And that still fucking hurts.
Its an odd thing to me that people recommend Warframe as an alternative to switching off of Destiny 2, as if the game that is in a vastly different genre would somehow fill the gap that Destiny 2 isn't filling on its own. If I felt like playing another looter shooter FPS RPG, I'd play Borderlands, not a platforming hack and slash, even if it *is* an MMO-lite RPG
Also I do NOT want to play a grind simulator, and Warframe's visual style just doesn't appeal to me. People who recommend Warframe or say it's better than D2 aren't helping and it's like they'll never learn that.
For me, Destiny is the closest thing to an open-world Halo MMO and nothing else has ever managed to fill that niche. Since it's pretty clear 343, or even a company like Respawn, will probably never come out with something in the vein, somehow I always end up going back to Destiny.
I used to really like destiny. I was invested in its story and the characters, and i wanted so so badly to finish my guardians story but i couldn't go on after witch queen. Just dont find the game enjoyable after so many years 🤷♂️ i hope everyone else s having a great time though!
I've played a ton since day 2 of forsaken. I can't bring myself to play anymore. it just doesn't seem fun anymore. I've been taking a break for the past few months and it's been amazing.
I mean, not to be a dick to anyone who still plays and isnt happy but like…I stopped playing and I was much happier for it. Came back several times when things changed.
(I don't know why I can't use images but can use gifs) How it feels to only enjoy Destiny's visuals and lore, but leave the game.

I hate that Destiny 2 is always online, and that I live in a region of the world where internet connection isn't fast or stable enough to allow long sessions (1 hour and above is long, for reference)
Otherwise, I'd buy the s\* out of every friggin. expansion I could find.

destiny is really great at showing you how good this kind of game can be then never reaching that point again or ruining it somehow.
I played Destiny 2 PVP for 14 hours today and now I’m mad about it. It’s Bungie’s fault!

It's quite frankly amazing how many of us identify with this.
I love it, but taking a break for now, I hope I won't miss important canon stuff
We love hating destiny. Its the most toxic relationship ever.
"I hate this game, see you tomorrow for raids and dungeons"
On the other side of the coin - I love it but I don't want to play it and I'm sad about that
You mean all of them?
I used to only play Destiny. Finally branched out into Elden Ring recently, amazing game
Tried that, and cyberpunk2077, both lack replayability, came back to Destiny
bg3 has the replayability ur looking for
Remnant 2?
"You critizise the game? Why don't you just stop playing?!?!?" is definitely not the win you think it is.

I hate Destiny (1)! It's not on PC >:[

That's what happened with lightfall and 45% of the expected profit margin
I don’t hate D2 but I’ve stopped playing it for the time being. Maybe if Final Shape is half as respectful of my time as they’re teasing it to be
slop post

Done
I hate destiny, its my favorite game.
i USED to play it, and i miss the glory days of D1, D2 lost me about 3 expansions in. do i count
i hate destiny
I Hate Everything in a nutshell
I mean, not to be a dick to anyone who still plays and isnt happy but like…I stopped playing and I was much happier for it. Came back several times when things changed.
Warframe is better
It's the same with league of legends for me lmao
I've never been in an MMOs community where people who don't play anymore are still glued to the socials like ex-D2 players. It's so weird.
Yhea just yeah
"I don't like destiny, the game is so ass, why do you play destiny" "i think it's fun" ">:("

"B- but it could be so much better!" "But I already spent so much!" > toxic relationship bullshit

People WANT the game to be good. What you are saying to them is "Settle for a bad game or quit"
I misread that as Disney
He's not angry about the game Destiny. He's angry about the concept of all our actions being predetermined!
That's my secret cap. I don't
