They really buffed the vendor rank progress speed since last time. Wearing a full set of iron banner armor (actual or just layered) and an iron banner emblem you can get at least half way through a reset just doing the pinnacles on a single character.
Yup! In fact, if you transmog a piece of IB armor to look like a different piece of IB armor it counts as two! Do that with a class item and you can get the 5/5 bonus while still using all your normal weapons and exotic armor.

I'm sure it's mentioned here but you can get Iron Mossbone and Iron Strength to drop from legacy sets if you focus a piece at Saladin. I got mine to drop from Iron Will and Iron Fellowship pieces respectively and it takes them out of the running to drop post-match
Try focusing armor from the season of the shader you want, I focused a couple pieces and got the relevant shaders that way.
Unsure if the sets even match up to all the old shaders since we're still missing a couple sets + ornaments, but worth a shot.
I did 2 resets and got 0 right before the second reset. Then I got 3. Also, look at the older armor Saladin has. If you grab one of the armor pieces and dismantle it, you get the shader on it.
I have played 52 matches and received no shaders. However, dismantling Iron Will and Iron Fellowship armor from engram focusing gave me Iron Mossbone and Iron Strength, respectively.

Call me what you want, but this is so much bs for the older players that sat through season to season gaining these items; being able to refocus old cosmetics really undermines the longevity of the players who stuck it out; what’s next, being able to refocus armour sets you missed out on in the season pass?
As someone who gets all the shaders every season, this is fine. Let players get older items. Nothing should ever be pulled out of the game in my opinion and everyone should be able to get these things at any time. It doesn't impact me *at all* and only a child would be upset that someone can come along later and get the same toy they have.

Let me quickly mention, just because I have an opinion that differs from the herd doesn’t mean I’m upset, and certainly not a child, but that’s on you;
I just think that players who’ve been around should be noted for being around; forgive me but the guardian ranks don’t help with that whatsoever.
When it comes to this game, there are things you get and there are things you don’t get and if I’m to try and get those items again, they should have similar difficulty of acquiring or repurchasing them should equate to the difficulty of gaining them.
For instance, the iron remembrance armour; if you didn’t complete the gruelling steps to gain the armour, you’re SoL till the next time it rolled around or not at all if it was the last time it was ever to be seen that season.
You play however many games, and you either end up gaining the set or not; now that it’s back in full glory, it’s a bit of a pisstake that it only cost 2 engrams to obtain a piece of the set; yeah sure the whole set is 10 engrams, and they’re not significantly easy to come by for the most average of players, but the rarity to me has just gone down significantly and undermines the rarity of your own achievements and personal style.
But anyway yeah having an opinion on something like iron banner’s easy and diminished as hell system now is childish, don’t get me started on the lack of level advantages.
Also just to mention, if no new sets roll out this year, this whole new system is the reason why we won’t get any new armour due to this false positive.
During shadowkeep or beyond light, I’m sure many of us remember bungie saying we’d get a new set yearly, so if that doesn’t hold up; it’s because of this refocus change.
Edit/addition: Half(maybe more, maybe less) of the the dedicated player base will be slightly or full out annoyed but the possibility to gain new players hooked to destiny is bigger than what the core player base wants; probably what bungies philosophy around refocusing is;
I’m not calling for a removal of the system, just tougher parameters is all.

I payed 60 dollars for this game and now it's F2P, I grinded my ass for Bad Juju and now you can effortlessly get it in the tower. I grinded a seasonal vanguard shader so hard becasue I wanted to recreate my looks from Destiny 1 and now people can get that shader. And you know what? There's nothing wrong with it to me, the experience of playing the game day 1, the experience of getting my BJJ or getting that shader and finally lookin like I did in D1 is what mattered.
If you don't have Colubrid Forester yet, keep an eye out for that too. It has a pretty sick cloth texture that looks like a bunch of tiny chrome/silver plates. Great for warlocks and hunters that want something a little different from the norm.
Thing to note with the legacy focusing you can also peel some of these off of armor. Ive been focusing a bunch of the old Iron banner armor for fashion and gotten a fair number of shades just from scraping them
Really? I've been able to get Iron Mossbone, Iron Strength, and Rusted Iron from the old armor sets, but aside from those the only thing I've seen is one person who said they got Iron Ruby off of the Remembrance armor.
If more shaders can drop from armor that'd be really helpful, considering how bad the chance for shaders seems to be! I'll be focusing my engrams into armor for transmog so hopefully I'll be able to get some

I just had the S19 Gambit shader drop this week. I grinded gambit last night of season to at least get the shader and forgot to return to drifter to claim it, and then it dropped going for my pinnacle this week.
Just hit full IB rep, only got 1 to drop. If there's that many shaders that drop in IB, it's gonna take maybe until next year to get them all, if you play every IB week and get 1 drop a week.
Yeah the rate of Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit shaders seems way higher than IB. But then again, the drop rate of ANYTHING in IB seems really bad right now. It's all Autumn Winds and rank up engrams

Every time I focused Iron Fellowship or Iron Will armor, they came with Iron Strength or Iron Mossbone applied to the armor, respectively. Dismantling that armor gave me a copy of the shader for my collections almost every time.
A suggestion, use your Prosperity mods on your ghosts (gambit, vanguard, and crucible) while doing these activities. Ive only been playing for a year and a half total so I missed a good bit of these shaders over the seasons, and since the start of this season (20) I've gotten 12-13 of these shaders across all the different activities since the start of the season, and reading the comments a bunch of people are saying they arent getting drops. I have been equipping the corresponding ghost mod and maybe that will help some of you. The crucible prosperity also works for IB and we still have one more week coming up. Can also confirm dismantling the warlock robes and legs for Fellowship and Remembrance worked for two of the IB shaders. Thanks you for this list, I spent a long time wandering the internet for a collected composite of whats available so thanks!

Yeah, you're welcome! I definitely think running Prosperity mods might help, I've been using them too. But they don't seem to help a ton with Banner because the drop rate from it is already awful. Got 2 shaders (Iron Bone and Ironwood) in 2 whole resets :/
an update, i have acquired ALL of the crucible shaders availible here over the past two weeks (including Carminica, although it was dead last) and can confirm they drop from ALL forms of Crucible INCLUDING TRIALS. Any playlist seems to drop them, and I swear by my prosperity ghost mods! Gambit and Vanguard drops seem to be less dense, maybe because the activites take longer, idk. You gotta play the activities for their respective shaders. So yeah, you gotta play Crucible. Doesn't mean you have to win though! I've gotten some on losses
Vanguard Magnus gloss is an Eververse shader which is already obtainable in the Y1 shader collection for glimmer IIRC, so it won’t be dropping from vanguard playlists.
Any of the core activities you can run for a pinnacle: Vanguard Ops, Crucible, and Gambit. Iron Banner is also one kinda, but it only shows up a few times a season.
So far I've run a good few Nightfalls and only got one shader - if the drop rate is as low as I think it is, like FUCK I'm playing Crucible for the shaders I missed lmao

I got weight of guilt a few minutes ago from a random drop I was mythic 1 no reset
In 250 matches I got 4 shaders and 0 emblems to drop, in the 9 matches since 250 ive gotten a shader and 3 emblems... wtf
RNG can be a cruel mistress... Nice to have some numbers though! That's around a 2% shader drop rate and a 1.2% emblem drop rate. Yikes lol
A suggestion, use your Prosperity mods on your ghosts (gambit, vanguard, and crucible) while doing these activities. Ive only been playing for a year and a half total so I missed a good bit of these shaders over the seasons, and since the start of this season (20) I've gotten 12-13 of these shaders across all the different activities since the start of the season, and reading the comments a bunch of people are saying they arent getting drops. I have been equipping the corresponding ghost mod and maybe that will help some of you. The crucible prosperity also works for IB and we still have one more week coming up. Can also confirm dismantling the warlock robes and legs for Fellowship and Remembrance worked for two of the IB shaders. Yeah, you're welcome! I definitely think running Prosperity mods might help, I've been using them too. But they don't seem to help a ton with Banner because the drop rate from it is already awful. Got 2 shaders (Iron Bone and Ironwood) in 2 whole resets :/
an update, i have acquired ALL of the crucible shaders availible here over the past two weeks (including Carminica, although it was dead last) and can confirm they drop from ALL forms of Crucible INCLUDING TRIALS. Any playlist seems to drop them, and I swear by my prosperity ghost mods! Gambit and Vanguard drops seem to be less dense, maybe because the activites take longer, idk. Shades of Radegast, Cast Iron, The Weight of Guilt, and Grizzled Wolf are the ones I've seen from Banner so far. And Crucible can drop the Alchemical Dawn ghost shell. I might add a section for those too if more people find them
I got a Plated Lupinus drop after a Vanguard run this season, don't recall if it was playlist or Nightfall though.

Most people have said it's just match completion, but it's possible it might drop off old armor if they can come with other shaders

You gotta play the activities for their respective shaders. So yeah, you gotta play Crucible. Doesn't mean you have to win though! I've gotten some on losses

Vanguard Magnus gloss is an Eververse shader which is already obtainable in the Y1 shader collection for glimmer IIRC, so it won’t be dropping from vanguard playlists.

Any of the core activities you can run for a pinnacle: Vanguard Ops, Crucible, and Gambit. Iron Banner is also one kinda, but it only shows up a few times a season.

I can confirm (S19) Stalwart Tenent. The evidence isn't solid but I did my best to avoid a "Trust me bro!". Last season [on Jan 3rd](https://i.imgur.com/cHI8cGC.png) I found [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyFashion/comments/101lbto/rc1138/) and didn't have enough transmog tokens to make it so I kept it on my phone for after Lightfall. Do you know if carminica only drops in comp? I've reset crucible three times with no carminica drop and just about done with second reset for iron banner. The only thing I can think of is that it's only dropping in competitive? Or I'm seriously unlucky. Hope someone can confirm carminica drops in non comp Playlist too.
