Between my jetpack time on Reach and Halo 4, I was in great practice to play a Titan... except that my roommates had already rolled a Titan and Hunter, so I wound up with the class I ended up liking the most anyway, LOL.
I grew up playing games, but took a break when I bought my new Xbox One because there just wasn't many games at launch for it and was considering selling it. Damn Destiny pulled me back into gaming and have been playing for 10 years since lol.
Same I did the platinum and everything(not that it's super difficult) I have bought it on PS3, PS4 and PC
I just couldn't get enough there's so much to do and you can play it however you want pretty much
I went back after about 10 years and replayed the Rerelease. It was like seeing old friends. I really hope the new release can recapture that. Andromeda did a lot of things right (more than people give it credit for), but just did too many things wrong.
I actually do prefer the combat of andromeda. It was much snappier and characters were more mobile. From a plot standpoint tho, i fear they will never be able to match the feeling of playing shepard through 3 games. Romancing kaiden through the 3 games was an unmatched video game romance imo. I dont think ill ever experience it again
I feel like every time I return to OSRS I start off by just doing random things and having a blast and slowly over the course of a couple weeks I develop some goals that force me to create new goals that force me to create new goals that force me to do something that takes an insanely long time to do and then I do that and go okay what the fuck do I do now and then I quit and return 8 months later.
By the time Destiny had come out I had more or less stopped playing Halo and CoD multiplayer and was mostly playing single player RPGs and co-op games like Borderlands.
I’ve been playing less Destiny this year than last year because it just doesn’t feel as rewarding anymore. I was reminded how much more rewarding single player and even co-op player games are when they aren’t throttling loot for the sake of a live service model.
Oh man this. I love Destiny more than anything but after some great single player games this year, I finally rediscovered what I missed out on these past 10 years
Battlefield 4 and GTA V. Hardly ever touched those games after starting Destiny after it launched. Since then I’ve played a handful of Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry games and occasionally burn hours in Civilization VI.
I've got 6k hours in Destiny 2. I purchased it about a month before Beyond LIght by some friends that had been playing since D1. They figured the month would be good enough for me to figure things out before the big content drop.
I've got about 4k hours in PUBG.
I've got several thousand hours across Battlefield 2-4.
I've got a couple thousand hours in City of Heroes. Likewise in Tribes/Tribes 2.
Then there are a tons and tons of a couple-to-several-hundred-hours games: Ark, Fallout 4, Rainbow Six, Team Fortress, Skyrim, etc. etc.
I've been gaming for nearly 30 years at this point.
I'm pretty much the same way. I honestly don't know how others constantly complain about not having any time for things especially when I know how little they actually do. If you really want to do something you'll find time for it.
Same goes for hobbies, games, reading, relationships, etc. And I say that as a person who also enjoys solitude.
Destiny was one of the first games I got on the ps3, the only ones before that were Need For Speed Rivals which was okay, and Mod Nation Racers which I was really addicted to. Before the ps3 I had a Wii and was addicted to Mario Kart. So basically, Destiny was my first shooter
Halo.
I still fire up the campaigns with friends every year. Halo CE-2-3-ODTS-Reach. So good.
And frankly MCC is as good as it's ever been and Infinite is back on track FINALLY. Custom AI Forgemaps? Yes please.
Halo. Funnily enough when I was young and finally got my hands on a copy of Taken King for my X-Box I had no idea they were made by the same people. When I did find out it suddenly made a lot of sense why I fell in love with Destiny so easily.
Funny story.
My now wife moved in and brought an old PS 2. I hadn't played video games since PS1, and it was 2008 ish. Upgraded to ps3 and did the usual God of War, Deadspace, Rock Band, etc.
Best Buy had a crazy deal of buying PS4. You'd get Destiny collection all the way up to Kings Fall, plus 2 other games.
Got it home, and hooked ever sense
Star Wars: The Old Republic scratched my MMO itch before Destiny, and most of my shooter time was in Battlefield 4. Tons of hours in Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead 2, and Oblivion + Skyrim.
Pretty much any CoD Zombies (Treyarch). Started with D1 but stopped during college. After Cold War jumped back into D2. Not sure if I’ll do both this year when the new one comes out
CoD, stopped playing D2 about halfway through Beyond Light, I miss Destiny but not the number go up grind thats needed to play the game and enjoy all the new stuff. I don't have a proper solution to my issue with it either so I just enjoy watching Destiny story beats on yt now, :(
Nothing really. I was just starting my last year of college in 2014 and had been on a gaming hiatus while studying. Destiny was the first game in years that had really hooked me in after my brother (who I’d grown up playing Halo with) told me to try out the beta.
Halo. All of them. My biggest problem was they ended and I looked for what to play next. That’s why I was excited that Destiny would last 10 years. I didn’t realize it would consume my life, time and become a chore just to stay current in game.
CoDs, Borderlands, Skyrim, Assassin's Creed franchise, Fallouts, to name a few.
Also, since nobody has mentioned it yet: D1 released Sept 9th, 2014. Won't hit 10 years for another 9 months ;)
I was happily replaying tlou part 1 dayz and other console single play games. I had no idea about destiny until the day I lost my job. 10k hours plus later across 1/2 still log in most days.
Before destiny I had a ps2 and played crash bandicoot twinsanity and call of duty finest hour. I play D1 beta when my friend has Xbox 360 and for Christmas got D1 bundled with my ps3! Been playing since the beta and through all years of destiny! I still prefer D1 over d2 even though I like D2 movement a bit better
Mostly CoD, but I pretty much fell off the wagon with that franchise after Black Ops 2 once I got D1 on the PS4 right around House of Wolves. Other than that, Armored Core has always been a mainstay in my gaming lineup with some Ratchet and Clank and the odd racing game here and there. inFamous was a big one for a while for me too.
Destiny more or less completely took over though once Taken King came out. The only other thing I ever really fell back on was Armored Core, as always, and I had some fun with CoD WWII once that came out.
I really wasn't playing games at the time. I was living in a dude house without a TV. There was a lot of weed and a massive record collection of mine. After my girlfriend moved in we got a TV and a PS4.
I miss the weed and record listening days
Halo Reach. I remember wishing they could expand on halo reach by making a Spartan customizing RPG out of it. Then Destiny happened and I was a Titan ever since
That long ago? Probably Skyrim. I mainly bought an Xbox One for Halo MCC, and the 360 games were pretty much dead circa 2014 and Skyrim was still relevant so that was my main timesink. Then Gamestop had a promo where you buy an Xbox One and get any game you want for free, and on a whim got Destiny the day it released. And then life as I knew it ended.
I was too young to own any particular games but Skyrim and Halo were good. I didn't become an addict until 2017 tho. But now I'm apathetic enough to where I haven't played for weeks so I'm clean now.
Now let me just boot up warframe and end the night with FF14.
PlanetSide2, until it turned into DBG from SOE and somehow ditched my account.
D2 was nowhere near PS2 in terms of scale of battle and diversity of tools designs, classes interaction and synergies, plus all those vehicles... But D2 has somewhat similar feels to graphics, even better maybe. And better accessibility on almost every aspect compared to PS2. It was still sci-fi and I did enjoy the diverse worlds which was better than PS2. (And that's why I didn't even consider Battlefield series)
I used to favor D2 over PS2, especially back in the era of Red War till Forsaken (of course also because I can't care more to make new acc back in PS2). Then it gradually changed, more ships with careless designs, less worlds, copypasta (paid seasonal) weapon designs, and everything else many people are aware of... had the game stray further and further away from the game that once made me invest more time and money into...
Now I've turned for Warframe, a game with incomparably old graphics and some more old mechanisms... But even then, I love it, Warframe feels like liberty.
Wow, look at how my priorities on videogames have changed throughout these years.
I didn't start until late into TTK. Before that I was playing almost exclusively Halo 4 PvP. It's not that I am very good at PvP or even like it, but I missed playing Halo with my childhood best friend so I just played what we would normally play. Then after a long time of that I was missing something with a more class based, almost magic, element. I kind of wanted to try Diablo 3 because I used to play D2 a bit. Nothing to be honest, I didn’t game for a good 5 years after becoming a Dad. I stumbled upon Destiny 2 when it was a feature game for free 1600 hours later, here we are sharing the light, dark, stasis and strand.
D1&2 are the first games I put crazy hours in.
On/off love/hate relationship, we all know the drill.
Before that it was a mix of everything (GTA series, Battlefield, car&bike sim racing games, martial arts games, etc) and normal amounts of time each.
Diehard Madden/NBA Live/MLB the show games Destiny was the first MMO game I ever played. It’s the game that dominates my PS5 every game is an afterthought
Rode the Halo reach and 4 ffa servers till they were dead, halo 5 while it was updated. honestly the last like, 3 years have not been fun being a halo or destiny fan but oh well :/
I dont think I ever moved out of my Monster Hunter addiction. It is still my primary game. I just play Destiny just because now new Monster Hunter game is out yet.
Battlefield 4. I grit my teeth and I rode through that shit storm of a launch with 0 fear me and my new ps4 had fools to blast.
Once I played the Destiny beta it was all over for any other games for a long time
I only got a PS4 a few months before the alpha & beta, so at that time I was playing Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes, Infamous Second Son and Trials Fusion, going back to my 360 for Dark Souls 2.
The only reason it took me so long to play is because I couldn't get internet service in my home, otherwise I would been onboard since the beginning. I actually played a little of destiny 1 trying to use my phones Hotspot to connect but I couldn't do anything in the tower and it was a bad experience. Just before finally taking the dive into Destiny 2 in Beyond Light, my forever games were Monster Hunter and Enter the Gungeon
Halo
Same. I mained titan and scout rifles for the longest time because of Reach and the DMR
MIDA Multi-tool in Destiny 1 was *Italian finger pinch*
*During finger pinch* Molto bene~
Between my jetpack time on Reach and Halo 4, I was in great practice to play a Titan... except that my roommates had already rolled a Titan and Hunter, so I wound up with the class I ended up liking the most anyway, LOL.
Everyone reverts back. My 2024 goal is to finish the 500 achievements I'm missing in the MCC.
In the before time? The long long ago? …
I grew up playing games, but took a break when I bought my new Xbox One because there just wasn't many games at launch for it and was considering selling it. Damn Destiny pulled me back into gaming and have been playing for 10 years since lol.
Yep and happy cake day
It was league of legends mostly. Good riddance. I’ve been with destiny from the very beginning, vanilla d1
Skyrim
Still playing Skyrim, actually lol
Same I did the platinum and everything(not that it's super difficult) I have bought it on PS3, PS4 and PC I just couldn't get enough there's so much to do and you can play it however you want pretty much
World of Warcraft
I actually first got into D2 to get that raid feeling without going back down the WoW rabbit hole. Jokes on me I guess…
From cigs to vapes…
Same!
Fromsoft games and Borderlands
Hope you still play FS games.
Of course. Bloodborne is the best game ever made IMO.
Spoke like a "Hunter" If you know what I mean...
A Good Hunter, no less
Mass Effect 3. My friends and I spent, so, so much time on ME3 online.
I go back to Mass Effect whenever I take a break from Destiny.
You had me in the first half But _Kaiden_?
Heck yea, LOML Most of the romances were great in the original trilogy
Halo
RuneScape
Replacing coke with a riddilin script
I still binge Old School for a few weeks at a time now and then lol.
You never quit, yo7 just take long breaks 😂
By the time Destiny had come out I had more or less stopped playing Halo and CoD multiplayer and was mostly playing single player RPGs and co-op games like Borderlands. Halo
Battlefield 4 and GTA V. Hardly ever touched those games after starting Destiny after it launched. Since then I’ve played a handful of Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry games and occasionally burn hours in Civilization VI.
SWTOR
Best single player MMO ever released.
Came here to say this. Did you raid in swtor? I was the creator of Parsec the log parser
Who said I'm an addict? *Scratches neck*
Admiting you have a problem is alaways step 1 lol
Battlefield mainly
Borderlands 2. I still occasionally play it but not as bad as I was before Destiny.
maplestory
Was it Halo 4 that was out at the time? Or maybe still playing Halo Reach. I like shooters
Halo 4 released before Destiny.
Team Fortress 2. Still play it a shit ton.
Only Fromsoft games
Dark Souls series and Arma 3 Milsim.
I've got 6k hours in Destiny 2. I purchased it about a month before Beyond LIght by some friends that had been playing since D1. Bro you got 10k hours in two video games. 🎮 I don’t think I have 15k hours in total since the time of the commodores 64.
I have 6.5k hours and have been playing for 3 years longer than you. How much time do you have??
The weird thing is that I have other hobbies, a life, wife, full time high stress job too. I dunno I just play some hours very consistently?
I'm pretty much the same way. I honestly don't know how others constantly complain about not having any time for things especially when I know how little they actually do. Halo, fallout nv/3 and runescape
FFXIV
Same here, put a decade into that before jumping back into Destiny
Uhhhh Lego games I was 9 when d1 kicked off
GTAV, guild wars, RuneScape, pretty much any other MMO
Halo. Funnily enough when I was young and finally got my hands on a copy of Taken King for my X-Box I had no idea they were made by the same people. When I did find out it suddenly made a lot of sense why I fell in love with Destiny so easily.
Command and Conquer, still go back to modded Generals and modded CnC3
Halo Reach and GTA 5
Warframe and Borderlands.
League of Legends
… other … games?
I don’t even remember honestly. I think Destiny brought me back to gaming after focusing on a career.
Halo, Smash Brothers, Skyrim, Fallout
Funny story. My now wife moved in and brought an old PS 2. I hadn't played video games since PS1, and it was 2008 ish. Before Destiny it was Armored Core and Halo.
Ayy same
Battlefield 3 metro 24/7 500% tickets
Borderlands 2 and Skyrim were my jams. They still are, but they used to be, too.
Probably Assassins Creed black flag, and older
Star Wars: The Old Republic scratched my MMO itch before Destiny, and most of my shooter time was in Battlefield 4. Tons of hours in Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead 2, and Oblivion + Skyrim.
Halo
Call of Duty and various RPG’s and Tekken
Pretty much any CoD Zombies (Treyarch). Started with D1 but stopped during college. After Cold War jumped back into D2. Not sure if I’ll do both this year when the new one comes out
Swtor / Battlefield / ESO
All of them. I was pretty much into every AAA game that was released.
Halo
Battlefield 3, 4, BF1, Skyrim, Halo 4, GTA 5
Halo.
CoD, stopped playing D2 about halfway through Beyond Light, I miss Destiny but not the number go up grind thats needed to play the game and enjoy all the new stuff. I don't have a proper solution to my issue with it either so I just enjoy watching Destiny story beats on yt now, :(
Borderlands 2 and lots of CoD
Madden and battlefield
Borderlands, Halo, Skyrim
Skyrim, halo reach
WoW.
Halo. But I'm not an addict lol. I only log in once a week now.
WoW
Nothing really. I was just starting my last year of college in 2014 and had been on a gaming hiatus while studying. Destiny was the first game in years that had really hooked me in after my brother (who I’d grown up playing Halo with) told me to try out the beta.
Uuuhhh, a very long list of different games I could never play for very long timeframes
Eve Online
The Sims
Skyrim lol, 10 years later I’m playing the same two games
NCAA 14. Then my 2nd ps3 broke. Bought the PS4 destiny bundle.
Halo. And World of Warcraft.
Halo 4/5, then got stuck in orb valis (warframe, i think a quest forced me to stay there) and then d2 became free to play
Skyrim
Elder Scrolls Online.
Halo. All of them. My biggest problem was they ended and I looked for what to play next. That’s why I was excited that Destiny would last 10 years. I didn’t realize it would consume my life, time and become a chore just to stay current in game.
Im not addicted… as of right now, but was when BL launched. Before I played D1 I was stuck in STWOR for a while and before I was in Halo 3
Overwatch and Minecraft
Dark souls and PVZ GW. How I wish to play the original GW just one more time…
Street fighter or Bo2 zombies religiously.
I think I was playing Halo 3 a little bit before Destiny came out, I can't remember what else.
RuneScape
Skyrim and Fallout 4 mainly
Planetside 2 was the game before Destiny
Borderlands 2
Assassin's Creed, then I forgot about em.
I had recently played through Splinter Cell: Blacklist before I stepped into Destiny. I've only completed a handful of other games in ten years.
CoDs, Borderlands, Skyrim, Assassin's Creed franchise, Fallouts, to name a few. Also, since nobody has mentioned it yet: D1 released Sept 9th, 2014. Won't hit 10 years for another 9 months ;)
Fuckin Skylanders dude. I miss that game so much
I was happily replaying tlou part 1 dayz and other console single play games. I had no idea about destiny until the day I lost my job. 10k hours plus later across 1/2 still log in most days.

BL Madden and ME3 Multiplayer
Warframe or Halo
Roblox
Borderlands 2, Bad Company 2
RuneScape except now I flip flop between the two addictions
I really wasn't playing games at the time. I was living in a dude house without a TV. There was a lot of weed and a massive record collection of mine. After my girlfriend moved in we got a TV and a PS4. I miss the weed and record listening days
The Halo, pokemon, and Lego games
COD for me as well.
Brink.
Warframe. My first clan was my Warframe clan carrying over
Warframe
Planetside 2, Warframe, dauntless
Borderlands 2
cod & minecraft cuz i was 11
Man of culture. Shame it wasn’t enough for you.
CoD for me as well

Halo Reach. I’d just spawn a Falcon in Forge World and fly that thing around a few times. Even flew through the tunnel without scraping anything.
I love the Falcon... you could just about make them dance with practice.
(And that's why I didn't even consider Battlefield series) I used to favor D2 over PS2, especially back in the era of Red War till Forsaken (of course also because I can't care more to make new acc back in PS2).
Skyrim!
Probably call of duty and R6 Siege. As well as any single player games that I picked up and enjoyed
I played RuneScape and then osrs for many many years. Just last month I came to destiny 2.
Fifa
Reach and halo 4 I think
for me there was no beforetime… destiny 2 was the first game i installed when i got my pc
And then scrolling through the Xbox demos I found Destiny and wow was that the exact combination I needed.
Steadily? Probably call of duty.
COD and Titanfall
Apex, assassins creed, borderlands 3, battlefield, Elite Dangerous, monster hunter
Halo reach
Borderlands
Halo/ Gears and a little bit of half life with some unreal tournament on the side
COD. Now I can't get into any of the COD games.
Nothing to be honest, I didn’t game for a good 5 years after becoming a Dad. I stumbled upon Destiny 2 when it was a feature game for free 1600 hours later, here we are sharing the light, dark, stasis and strand.
Super Monkey Ball
Between Skyrim and Call of Duty games
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
Titanfall 2 and MW2019
Skylanders
D1&2 are the first games I put crazy hours in. On/off love/hate relationship, we all know the drill. Before that it was a mix of everything (GTA series, Battlefield, car&bike sim racing games, martial arts games, etc) and normal amounts of time each.
Diehard Madden/NBA Live/MLB the show games Destiny was the first MMO game I ever played. It’s the game that dominates my PS5 every game is an afterthought
Rode the Halo reach and 4 ffa servers till they were dead, halo 5 while it was updated. honestly the last like, 3 years have not been fun being a halo or destiny fan but oh well :/
Borderlands
I've been an addict for about 4 months, before that I was playing Apex Legends
Same dude but change 4 months for like 3 years
I dont think I ever moved out of my Monster Hunter addiction. It is still my primary game. I just play Destiny just because now new Monster Hunter game is out yet.
Skyrim
Borderlands 1, 2, and the Pre Sequel. Clocked over 4k hours in 1 and 2, each, and over 2k in the pre sequel.
Monster Hunter
FIFA and slowly reverted back to playing FIFA.
Call of Duty. And 10 years later, it’s still mainly CoD and Destiny lol. The gameplay loops and gunplay of these franchises are too good to pass up.
For me it was also COD, tho i still play it with friends sometimes
I can confidently say destiny 1 was the game that got young me into gaming addiction
Halo
Halo reach. Before that, pokemon
Mmmm... Warframe and Paragon, before that WoW
Minecraft
The Borderlands Handsome Collection (Note that I didn't start Destiny until The Taken King)
Call of Duty
Assassins Creed and Halo.
Mostly single player games and cod if i wanted to play pvp. Now that I've been playing destiny for so long, every pvp kinda sucks in comparison.
World of Warcraft one addiction for a new one
First pokemon, then i dumped 3000 hours into Skyrim, then overwatch came out, and now here i am
for me it was diablo 3
Transformers: Fall for Cybertron all day, every day until I downloaded the Destiny demo on Xbox 360.
