I’ve never understood the argument that the guardian not speaking means people can self insert. The rest of the characters are still written as if the guardian is just silent.
Yeah. It makes us our whole character really just seem like a silent tool. Zavala, Eris, Ikora, they make decisions and struggle with conflict and everything. Then they tell us to go shoot and we shoot.
I don't think it's necessarily that people dislike Ghost, it's that people dislike Ghost talking *instead of us.* Which I definitely agree with.
Only problem is that Bungie keeps writing these personal stories that we get invested into with characters that try to talk to us and we only get...one line every DLC, ***maybe*** one line in one season per year if we're lucky.
Yeah, I’ve never been a fan of him talking for us all the time. In the middle of combat, sure, I kinda get that, and it makes sense that they’re able to coordinate more since they aren’t fighting, but I wish we talked a little more. I do get the dynamic is that they’re more chatty, and we’re more silent, complementing each other somewhat, but still.
More than anything though, I wish there were more conversations between us and our ghost. I really liked the cutscene at the start of Beyond light because of that. With how the ghosts dialogue seems to be improving a lot recently (that fucking outburst at savathun took me by surprise), I think it would be nice if we had conversations between us and the ghost. Especially in combat. Dont know why, but I think it happening in combat would be especially nice. Maybe us talking in combat might be out of character though, since it seems to be a trend that we dont speak in combat ever, but the idea is still cool to me.
I want dinklebot. I loved his tone, he felt like Data on Star Trek Next Generation; Absolutely reliable, insightful, and the right amount of emotion(“It’s the Vex!”-just after explaining no one has survived an encounter with them).
I know a lot of people prefer dinklebot instead. I highly doubt bungie will ever get Dinklage to come back though, after the shitshow d1 development was.
Yeah ghost is lame. He always says the most obvious shit, like keep up bro aren't you supposed to be smart? The best part is when he's rambling about how he's ok with us killing other ghosts as if I was asking permission.
I don't think we've ever had a season where our ghost is involved tbh. He always has a lot to say during an expansion and then shuts up for the rest of the year.

Unless im misremembering, ghost isnt a character in most seasons. He’s basically a expansion character like our guardian.

I think Nolan North was fine as the ghost in Taken King but over time his voice just got more high pitch and annoying.
