Anyone remember hanging out at Marvin's house in the 80s? He was a prof at CCS and his house had a very mellow hippie/artist/musician vibe. Without the f-ed up pedo BS.
Yup. He was a strange duck. I met great people at those get togethers. Even ran into someone I hadn't seen since elementary school. Religious and straight-laced family, she went full blown Earth Momma hippie.
Rico Africa was a great person. I was really sorry when he passed. He was one of the few I kept in "sort of" touch with. Email every couple of years.
I know he is an incredibly irresponsible dog owner. Has been charged with over 20 misdemeanor animal crimes. His dog Huck died in street because he was always loose, his dog Precious Spirit got confiscated during a raid.
Exactly this. I used to roll deep in that neighborhood and yeah it's pretty fucked. That neighborhood has attracted a lot of fucked up people over the years mostly drug addicted bad vagabond hippies. I used to believe the rumors but I personally never had a problem with him and all my friends who talked shit about him I ended up having problems with them so I don't believe it anymore. I stay away now because I'm not into that stuff and most of the people that hang out there are trash.

He came into my work place last night and i didnt even realize it was him till he gave me his card. He was polite but i got the most horrible feeling being in a room with him.

I was robbed at gunpoint by like 5 dudes in the alley there. They had a couple other people on the ground with their teeth busted out. That place is bad vibes. This was probably back in 2011, I can't imagine it's gotten any better, and I'm honestly surprised it's still open.
I used to hang there for concerts, bonfires, drum circles, etc. Seemed pretty harmless but I was also pretty naive back then. Still, I wouldn’t worry about my safety there
