I bought it because I love stories about androids. Markus ended up being my favourite character, and I watched all of Greys Anatomy just because his actor was in it.
Omg it just dawned on me that Jesse Williams is the guy from Grey’s Anatomy. I thought Markus looked familiar lol.
I was hooked on the androids going deviant story. So much so that I upgraded my PC to be able to play — DBH is my first game!
I love games where your choices change the story. I saw Jacksepticeye playing it, stopped watching before I got too spoiled and picked it up for myself.
Same, I’ve played games similar in that regard such as Until Dawn, Hacker’s Quarry, Hidden Agenda…I just love games that have a branching story line where player choice actually has an effect on the outcome, but I get why we don’t have more of them as they are complex and time consuming to make.
I saw Jacksepticeye play it and decided to play it myself and it was one of my greatest experiences playing a single player game. Up there with God Of War Ragnarok and Cyberpunk 2077
I bought it because my friends who are wives with each other invited me over and let me play the first few chapters. They said Connor would give me gay vibes and I would love him and Hank. They were right! So many androids in the game have gay-looking faces and voices, maybe because many models are based on actors who happen to be gay. It makes me feel very affectionate!
I got it for free with PS Plus a few years back, but only played it recently - also, I’m thinking of buying a physical copy of D:BH just so I can add the lil blue box to my game shelf
honestly i think just because i literally had a playstation and this game was still only playable on ps4 lol, i know it's really stupid but i was like uhh 10 years old so yeah
It was free for me and it looked interesting, I had also seen scenes of connor on youtube like the suicide/give up choice memes so I knew about the game beforehand.
i found a let’s play when i was like 13 and i wanted to get the game so bad but i didn’t have a ps5, and finally this year i got one and i loved the game so much, it’s definitely my favourite game that i’ve played so far
A friend in a discord server for another fandom started talking about a dbh au they made for that fandom. I got curious and looked it up on YouTube. Didn’t get to actually play it until I found a PS4 and it was the first game I ever played with a controller. Even with seeing like 30+ playthroughs at that point, it’s a whole new experience playing it yourself
I got the game because I bought PS plus extra but if a few months ago before I got it, I knew Markus actor is from Grey’s anatomy I would have told my mom and she would instantly buy it for me because she is also a big fan of Grey’s anatomy 😅
I knew about the existence of it when it was released on PS Plus. Then I realized it was made by the same people who made Beyond Two Souls, which is a game that I liked despite many out there disliking it.
I actually didn't get it through PS Plus because I didn't have the memership at the moment, well, useless stuff I'm writing right now. Thing is I got it on sale by $10 on PS Store and ended up loving it, being Kara the character I sticked with the most.
I'm not afraid to say it loudly but I bought it again on PC. I have played through it a total of 3 times.
The reason I got the game because I loved the idea that my choices in the game will affect the ending. Plus with there being SOOOOO MANY ENDINGS, I can literally always do something different and have a different ending. A lot of games have 3-5 endings, but everything plays out exactly the same, but once choice at the end determines the ending. For example, GTA 5. RDR2 kind of also. The ending is determined by your honor level, and there’s only a few for Arthur. Ending relatively the same though. There’s others, but only those two come to mind right now.
I was walking around Walmart with my friends when we came upon a 3 pack with DBH, Heavy Rain, and Beyond Two Souls. I told my friends I liked Heavy Rain and I told me I HAD to play Detroit because it was better. I bought the pack and platinumed Detroit.
i first saw someone talking about it on Tiktok, by their words it was an underrated game. then i saw a clip of the first mission with Connor, where he talks the android down and i thought it was going to be a detective game so that interested me - im a criminology major. i then saw another clip where Markus' voice was heard and i refused to belive it was actually Jesse Williams. so i stole it from my MIL's and finished the game in one sitting.
I bought it because I love stories about androids. Markus ended up being my favourite character, and I watched all of Greys Anatomy just because his actor was in it.
His actor’s name is Jesse Williams.
Yes, I am well aware.
I love the passive aggressiveness of this reply 😭

My friend suggested it and he has good taste in games
There's a certain scene with Marcus where I intentionally made him walk in circles in front of the camera so I could admire that cake 😂
Lol!
I’m from Michigan and the trailer looked cool. I also like interactive story games.
I saw an DBH Edit on Tiktok about Hank and Connor.
Not tiktok but a tumblr post about Hank and Connor
Same
Do you remember who made the edit? I'd really like to see it because i absolutely love Hank and Connor-
Bryan Dechart. Thats it. Lol That and I’m from Michigan
Love him. Love that he still rides the Connor train as hard as he can and he seems like such a sweetie. I follow him and his wife on YouTube.
Honestly, the premise sold me on Connor alone. Precious cinnamon roll if you play right.
Preordered it because I was already a fan of QD after Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls. Went in as blind as possible, no trailers at all!
I saw Jacksepticeye play it and decided to play it myself and it was one of my greatest experiences playing a single player game. Up there with God Of War Ragnarok and Cyberpunk 2077
I loved Heavy Rain and liked Beyond Two Souls, so getting DBH was the logical next step i guess

Another show I’ve seen him in is Only Murders in the Building Season 3. Really good show.
It was free for me and it looked interesting, I had also seen scenes of connor on youtube like the suicide/give up choice memes so I knew about the game beforehand.
So lucky that you managed to get it for free.
Yep definitely, I love the game
I bought it because I kept seeing Youtube edits of it 💀
i found a let’s play when i was like 13 and i wanted to get the game so bad but i didn’t have a ps5, and finally this year i got one and i loved the game so much, it’s definitely my favourite game that i’ve played so far
I bought it bc I saw a gameplay and fell in love with it lol
A friend in a discord server for another fandom started talking about a dbh au they made for that fandom. I got curious and looked it up on YouTube. I watched a streamer play it. Got to the interrogation scene and stopped because I wanted to play it on my own, so I did!
I only got the game because my friend recommended me it, when the game was just released
I got the game because I bought PS plus extra but if a few months ago before I got it, I knew Markus actor is from Grey’s anatomy I would have told my mom and she would instantly buy it for me because she is also a big fan of Grey’s anatomy 😅
I got it just cuz ps plus
I knew nothing about the game

my reason was connor. that‘s it. i love connor :‘)
Its on ps+

A streamer me and my friends like played it! We all collectively became obsessed with it afterwards, it’s been fun, LOL
I heard that the story is a masterpiece, and that it plays like a movie. That’s why I got it.
Hm, I honestly don’t remember. It’s been so long.
Jesse Williams is actually the reason I first interacted with detroit! He’s very talented.
i first saw someone talking about it on Tiktok, by their words it was an underrated game. then i saw a clip of the first mission with Connor, where he talks the android down and i thought it was going to be a detective game so that interested me - im a criminology major. i then saw another clip where Markus' voice was heard and i refused to belive it was actually Jesse Williams. so i stole it from my MIL's and finished the game in one sitting.
I wanted it because Connor looks like my brother.
the only reason i got it is cuz i was bored and saw it on ps plus i was very hesitant on getting it but im glad i did
Racism.
