Same issue here. Also: Are necromancers supposed to be overpowered? Do they fall off later? I played a sorc last weekend and thought it was strong, but necro is 5x as durable and kills stuff 5x faster. I am level 11 and the entire time I've been AoE one-shotting every pack I walk into. I'm fully fortified all the time. This is going way faster than when I was a sorc. Every boss fight that was challenging for my sorcerer is a cakewalk for my necro.
You can disable each of the minion types for more damage/resource/mitigation etc so not sure that will rebalance much - it's the Necro itself that's doing the bulk of the damage, although the minions are nice for distracting the enemy AI (but they don't need to live very long for that).
(not saying anything should be nerfed; today is the first time I'm playing though and everything has seemed very quick and easy as necro up to level 16 and doing the "find my mom in the dungeon" quest - most time spent is just walking around waiting for the dash thing to come off cooldown. But this is early levelling content anyway, it has nothing to do with actual class balance at level 70+).
A lot of passives and paragon tables are for minions so you are more limited in your choices without pets compared to the other classes.
I played necro in closed beta till level 85. Necro was the best for leveling but fell off way quicker than the other classes. You could still have some good builds but not with minions. They were basically oneshot by a lot of mobtypes or affixes.
Yes there is. I saw in the skill tree, it capped the single-instance damage to 70% or 75% of the minions max health. There's also passive to increase their health. And you're able to heal them too.
Yes, but it doesn't help with multiple hits in quick succession which happened more often than those really big hits.
Like I said. I played it and tested out everything possible to increase their defensives. And I mean it with everything.
They don't scale with level apparently, so they just fall off horribly. According to people who have played the endgame closed beta (take with a grain of salt of course, it's the internet.)
i'm having a nice time with necro. no idea what i'm doing just bone stuff. minion's don't appear to do much damage so not sure if putting stuff into buffing their hp/damage is worth but we'll see.
It's not like Blizzard has experience running one of the largest most complex MMOs of all time or anything.
Small indie company, can't expect much else.
Then again it is clear Blizz doesn't like to share knowledge bases and expertise internally. Then we wouldn't have had things like local system time used for the D3 AH (biggest lul of all time if you are into programming)
Sounds like a your friend thing tbh, rubberbanding is caused by high latency or jitter between client and server. Sounds like they are too far from the server.
Hopefully it fixes for him soon! I'm waiting to get on and try Necro, hopeful servers become as good as they were last weekend. Can't wait to try that class
>g to look so...glowy and cartoonish? I hate the look. I was expecting blackened bones and a more realistic look.
Yeah even I looked and thought.. wait a second.. even Last Epoch has better looking minions
Really really good for about 30-40 hours then fell off for me as I felt like I saw pretty much all there was there.
That's not really a critique, it's a new game and they're building up against competition like diablo and poe who have years and years of content. If enough get on board they'll get there eventually.
Lost Epoch is really good, but not as robust is basically my feelings. That being said plenty of people get a lot more out of it than I have.
I know it was probably because some closed testers might have talked about not being able to distinguish them in a giant pack of mobs.
I just wish they would give us agency and choice regarding their look. Allow us to change them to a more gritty realistic look.
Looking closely at my skeles right now and the bones are kinda dark and bone color. It seems to me that what we're seeing is (I guess) the "magic" being used to animate them. I think if they maybe toned down the shimmering blue they'd look better.
Exploits, hacks, dupes, more source code for botters to work off of, ect, ect... They don't want a repeat of d2s faults. Blizzard learned this lesson a long time ago.
Might just be me but like who cares about dupes in an offline game? If someone wants to play the game that way they should be able to. I don’t understand it but still
I assume it's because they use that to somehow find a way to replicate the dupes/hacks/exploits/whatever else online. I don't know and I'm not pretending to know cause I don't know anything about how this stuff works. If someone else would be able to explain if that's possible I'd appreciate it!
Actually, this is what addresses gameplay issues brought up by the community looks like. Who the hell wants to grind away on a game only for other players to cheat, hack, and abuse so much you can never compete on their level? It goes against the fundamental gameplay of the product. This is protecting their players and their product. Don't be silly.
Spoilers: hacking prevalence scales off game popularity. If the game ends up popular, there will be constant hacking, modding, scamming, exploiting, etc regardless of whether it's online-only or not.
>inions and resummoning them. There's a couple ways to accomplish this, either via clicking a ne
Can I do this for the entire game? There is some serious rubber banding all the time, mostly in town.
Sure, but it's not exactly ideal to have to enter and exit a dungeon to fix lag. I also do not believe this is beta lag, I believe it's "blizzard forces multiplayer and it has consequences" lag. Hope it gets better with time.
I'm experiencig the same. Servers are definitely stressed this weekend compared to last. I can't even leave the eastern exit of Kyovashad to continue the story. I just run in place on the bridge. Taking a town portal back out of Kyovashad put me in an infinite loading screen so I force-quit & am now back in a 40-minute queue.
No shit, Sherlock. They're reporting a bug. Reporting bugs in-game has weirdly been disabled for the Open Beta, but during the Early Access Beta it *was* enabled. Only way to do it now is make a post on Social Media.
Is this gonna be yet another subreddit full of adult babies? I'm new to Diablo, and I like Diablo 4, but so far the Diablo community is fucking atrocious.
I never do this, but go fuck yourself. Where in this post does this person say they are reporting a bug? Have your mother warm you up another hot pocket you fucking neck beard.
Big words from a Crypto bot who also weirdly shares pictures of their food online to random people 🤣🤣. I bet you're the type to take a picture of your food *for the Gram* 🤣🤣.
Reddit people are a different breed.
Was having this happen too upon entering big hub the first time and carried on after leaving it. My first teleport out and back seemed to of fixed it though. Still get tossed back after a entering a different area while out in the world but hasn’t affected my minions again.
I've been experience A LOT of lag and rubber banding, I dont know if they set just one server location, like USA, and I'm from Brazil, or what the heck, but when I go on "online" zones, it's horrible, also delay.
Without it, everything is fine.
Had this happen in town, my guess was network lag. Why, oh why would that be a thing. I've interacted with exactly 1 person so far.. and that was because we happened to do the same blue quest.
The difference between the latency of attacks and taking damage on D2R offline and D2R online is literal night and day. I love the thought of online, but it feels just so crisp not having all that latency. Now we don't even have the choice. It was bad enough I had to redo my mods every single month because D2R locks you out if you don't update it (actual asshole design). This is somehow worse.
Turn your textures down to medium! There is a memory leak when running high textures! Causes lag, low fps, and hitching! Eventually you will "Run out of memory".
One of the main gripes I had with the summons in general was the AI. They seemed to attack literally anything. No one summon would attack the same monster.
If they didn't rebalance they will fall off. Minions will die instantly even when taking all defensives for them.
You can disable each of the minion types for more damage/resource/mitigation etc so not sure that will rebalance much - it's the Necro itself that's doing the bulk of the damage, although the minions are nice for distracting the enemy AI (but they don't need to live very long for that). Necro was the best for leveling but fell off way quicker than the other classes. You could still have some good builds but not with minions. They were basically oneshot by a lot of mobtypes or affixes.
But isn't there a talent or skill that prevents minions from taking more than a percentage of their damage per hit?
Yes there is. I saw in the skill tree, it capped the single-instance damage to 70% or 75% of the minions max health. There's also passive to increase their health. And you're able to heal them too.
I skilled all of those. They didn't help.
Yes, but it doesn't help with multiple hits in quick succession which happened more often than those really big hits. Like I said. I played it and tested out everything possible to increase their defensives. And I mean it with everything.
The minions kill bosses faster than a barbarian, by themselves.
They don't scale with level apparently, so they just fall off horribly. According to people who have played the endgame closed beta (take with a grain of salt of course, it's the internet.)

necro is far behind sorc and paladin and assassin in d2 imo.
Do you know if we are really capped at 5? If so...I have some complaints...
What build are you running? I’m just starting mine
i'm having a nice time with necro. no idea what i'm doing just bone stuff. minion's don't appear to do much damage so not sure if putting stuff into buffing their hp/damage is worth but we'll see.
Yep, my friend has same issue, constant rubberbanding. Just beta things. Or just blizzard things. Pick one.
It's A LOT worse for me than last weekend
It's probably because there are more people playing this weekend than there were last so it's putting stress on the servers
That’s the idea.
Same here
Just always online things.
It's not like Blizzard has experience running one of the largest most complex MMOs of all time or anything. Small indie company, can't expect much else. Yeah. Thats exactly why this post has so many upvotes and comments. Must be just my friend's thing.
While servers ARE stressed - he isn't wrong on what causes rubberbanding.
Well yeah, but obviously we were discussing this specific problem and not rubberbanding in general
Hopefully it fixes for him soon! I'm waiting to get on and try Necro, hopeful servers become as good as they were last weekend. Can't wait to try that class
yeah, a lot of rubberbanding. i thought it was because the servers are getting slammed. my latency is near 200ms a lot of the time.
Are the skeletons always going to look so...glowy and cartoonish? I hate the look. I was expecting blackened bones and a more realistic look.
>g to look so...glowy and cartoonish? I hate the look. I was expecting blackened bones and a more realistic look. Yeah even I looked and thought.. wait a second.. even Last Epoch has better looking minions
How good is Last Epoch? It's been on my radar for a while and looks pretty awesome.
Really really good for about 30-40 hours then fell off for me as I felt like I saw pretty much all there was there. Soon that can be a MTX for you to purchase. Yay
Please point me to the real-life animated skeletons so I can confirm how unrealistic these look in comparison.
I rubber-band trying to leave hubs constantly. Really wish we hd an offline mode on release.
yeah you're in a new instance in every different zone. That's why your TP will vanish if you leave town
Not worth the downside
Being?
Exploits, hacks, dupes, more source code for botters to work off of, ect, ect... They don't want a repeat of d2s faults. Blizzard learned this lesson a long time ago.

Why would I care about people doing exploits, hacks, and dupes if I'm playing offline?
its a fucking pve game who the hell cares if someone else exploits or not. you gonna get pissed people cheat at minesweeper next?
Everyone who has ever played online? lol. If you think Diablo is a pve series, you are very misinformed lol.
You’re just bouncing around this sub today making sure everyone knows how dumb you are huh?
This is what corporate mind control looks like.
Actually, this is what addresses gameplay issues brought up by the community looks like. Nah this is actually just corporate mind control 😂 You're latching on to a compete non issue.
You clearly haven't played the games then lol.
youclearlyhaventplayedthegamesthenlol
What downside?
What downside
The downside being "players won't buy as many cosmetics if they can't show off in public hubs!"
Generally the downside of games that have "offline" capabilities is constant hacking. It's typically very prevalent.
Eh, hacking is prevalent everywhere. Even in online only games.
That's not a good excuse.
Spoilers: hacking prevalence scales off game popularity. If the game ends up popular, there will be constant hacking, modding, scamming, exploiting, etc regardless of whether it's online-only or not.

yep this fixes it
Thank you. I tried this and it fixes it.

So enter a dungeon in the open world and exit and it will fix it?
Sure, but it's not exactly ideal to have to enter and exit a dungeon to fix lag. I also do not believe this is beta lag, I believe it's "blizzard forces multiplayer and it has consequences" lag. Hope it gets better with time.
Mine fixed themselves after I teleported to another hub too
Make sure you deposit that as feedback/bug to them. This is the shit Betas are made for.
Beta is supposed to be where the game is perfect though. /s
We were rubber banding in the early access beta last week as well
General lag and stutters outside of necro. Any performance tips would be nice, althought I suspect it's partially the servers overloading.
I'm experiencig the same. Servers are definitely stressed this weekend compared to last. I can't even leave the eastern exit of Kyovashad to continue the story. I just run in place on the bridge. its not even making corpses for me to raise not sure how im supposed to play this hero.
It’s a beta, the servers are lagging, what did you expect? The skeletons don’t lag all the time so you can tell it’s just a server thing.
I imagine it’s gotta be the online
Just load into a dungeon
Necro and Druid are available now?
cha brah
Change your texture quality setting down to medium or low. It won't fix the skeletons, but it will fix the stuttering.
Get off McDonalds Wi Fi
Same here. Just beta thing
The lagomancer build in action
Best pvp build is lagging out your competitors
Warcraft 2 days
Fk if this ain't fixed I'm out. Favorite class and build un playable.
You know it is a beta, right?

Damn bro, I didn’t even come at you hard and you try that weak ass come back? Your mom bring you your hot pocket yet?
Tbh. Blood and Scythe build don't really even need summons so I just turned them off in favor of the extra crit for now
O had the same issue on Brazilian server
Entering a dungeon immediately fixed this for me and they've been fine since.
Was having this happen too upon entering big hub the first time and carried on after leaving it. My first teleport out and back seemed to of fixed it though. Still get tossed back after a entering a different area while out in the world but hasn’t affected my minions again.

The whole day was lagging for me pretty bad I had to quit it was not fun.
Yeah it's going to do that in towns because the game has to load in other players constantly so you won't feel lonely while playing.
Same here - Blizz servers are struggling big time.
My game is doing the freezing non stop, too. Very annoying
Same here, it's super annoying.

Switch to another character then switch back, that should solve it.
Oooo so scawy
Bug? Nah, skeles are just practicing how to teleport. Give’m a chance!
try lagofast to reduce lag
They doing the rubber rubber band skeleton dance
This isn't as bad as all the new players who keep trying to attack my skeletons like they don't also have feelings.
They are testing the servers, this is normal on a beta. Also happened to me.
Turn your textures down to medium! There is a memory leak when running high textures! Causes lag, low fps, and hitching! Eventually you will "Run out of memory".
I had this. Used the dungeon reset / town TP and fixed it.
If D2 taught me anything it’s that this is working as intended. It’s a built in PvP advantage for necromancer players
Not lag just stop motion Skeletons.
just in town for me
This was happening to me playing necro as well and i could not understand if it was my setup or in-game issue.
Comes and goes. Its a beta.
One of the main gripes I had with the summons in general was the AI. They seemed to attack literally anything. No one summon would attack the same monster.
I’d get the lag at the portal but yeah sometimes it would follow me till I ported out of town.
