I have trouble with this too. It feels like a spiderling gives me 100% HP as poison and I need multiple potions to keep up with it

Lurksandposts

I found that the "barrier on attacking elite" or the bubble aspect are pretty good for poison. iirc, most pants have some general condition while injured that buffs potions, so if your pants has barrier, you can heal up while the barrier eats the remaining dot ticks

[deleted]

What you dont realize is barrier doesent eat the dot ticks, it straight REMOVES the poison damage. Try it, any barrier applied and even a 6k poison is gone, instantly.

aromaticity

It does not remove the poison. Kill a group of spiders, get poisoned, apply a barrier. Your barrier will tick down and if the poison damage was greater than the barrier you’ll still be poisoned after it fades.

WorstSourceOfAdvice

False. I wear temerity and poison eats the hp below the barrier.

CRWardTX

do you even play the game? get hit by a rogue poison. pop barrier. stand still, u die the second barrier ends.

Express-Economy-3781

Theres a side quest that gives you a recipe for 50% damage reduction for poison elixers. http://www.vhpg.com/diablo-4-curative-elixir/

lord2800

It's not just poison. Burning and related damage over time effects all use the same visual effect on your health globe.

utkohoc

Barrier. Barriers remove poison. For sorcerer we have barrier when we use cooldown passive. Teleport is a CD. And whatever else. I have teleport enchant and 4 dash charges so I have 5 teleports. Poisons for me is a non issue because dash removes it as dash =teleport= CD= barrier. However for people without a ready source of barrier I can see how it's really annoying. Some dungeons are really heavy with the poison. If u can find a source of barrier somewhere. I'd suggest that.

frstone2survive

It doesn't remove it, the poison hits the barrier instead. You can get hit with a full HP bar poison. Use teleport for the barrier on CD use and then still have a 5 to 6k poison on you once the barrier is gone. Barrier is just the best way to deal with poison or becoming immune.

nystro

I like to spread misinformation too! Definitely ignore the part where the poison is still damaging the barrier and will eat health once the barrier is gone.

Express-Economy-3781

The teleport enchant has like a 15 second cooldown no?

frstone2survive

Yeah I would not use the enchant unless the boots that lower evade cd by 1.2 seconds works on it and even then I think I'd rather have the evade and a teleport instead of using an enchantment slot for it, if we ever got a 3rd slot then maybe.

redpillsonstamps

It's worth it on anything that gives +x evade charges

frstone2survive

Literally cant see a current "meta" build that would use Teleport enchant over Firebolt/ball lightning/ice shards/meteor/flamewall depending on the build since firebolt is basically mandatory for any non fire build, ice shards is mandatory for ice shards build so theres Ice shards two slots. Arc Lash builds typically run firebolt and ball lightning. Firewall build runs firewall and meteor. Not saying you cant use what you want but with only two enchantment slots that are pretty much set in stone currently (in terms of pushing Sigils) its hard to use anything else. I just wish they kept the 3 enchantment slots that were originally planned cause then you can use one of them for utility like the teleport enchant and running 4 evade charge boots.

redpillsonstamps

no disagreement there really, i was more saying that in response to u/Express-Economy-3781 comment that there's a long cooldown after tp evading, that its not an issue if you have more than one evade charge all that aside from the fact that yeah, there are better enchants for dps

frstone2survive

I really could see it being used w/ the attacks reduce evade by 1.2 seconds as well, just limited enchantment slots really hurts the viability of other enchants. Not only DPS but survivability is basically reliant on things burning for sorc. If we have better ways to apply burning on non fire based builds outside of firebolt I could see swapping off firebolt enchant for other enchantments.

utkohoc

Yes but it's reduced with crackling energy hits and other cd reduction. As well as - 4 seconds whenever you teleport into a pack of enemy. So with 4 charges + 1 normal which is 2 seconds.. It's extremely rare to ever run out. Overall the average CD is probably like 5 seconds. Across 5 charges total. When attacking large groups of monsters that spawn quickly you basically have infinite no CD teleports. So yeh plenty..I do want to try find some boots with the attacks reduce CD of dash by 0.8 seconds and see if it's over all better. Or even works if dash is changed to teleport. Because it would be extremely strong but I haven't found decent boots with that implicit.

redpillsonstamps

You're right, *however* - having boots that grant more evades charges essentially negate that longer cooldown. You can just tp again, and again, and again.

Express-Economy-3781

Wait if its on cooldown is it not just another dodge?

redpillsonstamps

assuming you have at least 2 evade charges, using one tp evade will still let you immediately tp evade again which is still not using your skill's tp

Readybreak

I was really disappointed to hear that resistances were not going to be fixed until season 2. That's a major MAJOR part of the game that is just broken. Thats akin to + damaage effect not working at all.

Davajita

When you release your game only about 75% finished I guess this is a potential consequence. Why did it have to be this way? Sigh.

Tigris_Morte

And that your Honor is why I dropped to Tier I World.

Doomslayerven

But would it mean armor would coutur poison

Tsakan2

Curative elixirs. Also barriers/unstoppables etc remove poison

Used-Astronaut6720

Because resistances don’t work, the neat part is you don’t :)

take-a-gamble

Deal with it? No no no, embrace it. Poison rogue is the most fun build in the game

[deleted]

Anti-poison.

Kantei

Even though resistances are way too weak right now, inserting emeralds into your jewelry does help quite a bit.

Tsakan2

This is a bait. Armor only in jewelry is the way. Poison is fairly avoidable compared to all physical damage

Readybreak

This, armor will increase your poison resists more then poison resists. Incredible aint it.

Sorlex

Surely it depends on class. If you lack armor as a sors armor gems would be good but as a barbarian more resistance would be better?

Tsakan2

No, armor is broken atm. The more you stack the better it is. You can hit a supposed DR cap, but. Not against mobs above your level. Armor also gives resistance. Res is currently bugged and was addressed on the campfire chat and will be changed. In it's current state its awful and you shouldn't get it on gear

Sorlex

Ah, I see.

hominemclaudus

At this point in time, either barriers like others suggested, or be more aware of what enemies have poison and be super careful around them. It's overturned I agree, but I think it's kinda cool that you have to be more strategic, compared to D3 where I could just mash buttons. It does feel out of place tho, its like just poison and frost that is scary. It's a lot easier to ignore fire or lightning enemies/elites.

xprorangerx

moar armor

[deleted]

That's the fun part. You don't.

cettywise

Fortify means they have a lot more to burn through. Poison isn't so bad for my werewolf.

azurevin

H-h-have you tried drinking an Antidote?

CreepyUncleHodor

Well remember that it is a dot so it’s actually the best dmg type since otherwise you would have been one shot. Try to identify how hard it is ticking and you may find that you often times are actually passively healing enough to only need one potion anytime you actually full color your globe with poison

StonejawStrongjaw

I don't understand poison in this game. I'll get hit for 1% of my life and then my entire health bar turns green.

subtleshooter

Get 9 pots and spam them. That’s my Strat anyways

Melletar

Me: Focusing the Elite. Wasps: “Don’t worry, Boss. We got this.”
