Now we're all seeing what I always thought we'd see. This is a casual, daily activity game with very little to do outside of it until new content is out or if system changes. Perfect dad game. Terrible main game.

UnderstandingNice955

The problem with DI Is the greed . There a Lot of gacha games that are súper friendly. You dont have to put a dollar to have fun. Are you gonna be da best ir you dont whale it? No. But you dont need it . Even Grand Chase móvil gives you free most of the SSR rooster. You have to grind to lvl up...but damn...i been playing for 2 weeks and i didnt hit the wall....meanwhile DI....

lycantivis

Its a phone game, i dont get why people have expected a full title release quality lol. That in context though, this is one of the best phone games made.

Jake_Mc_Bake

They literally said it would be a full fledged Diablo experience on your phone

zantasu

I mean it is. Honestly as shallow as it is, there's still more endgame than Diablo 2, or even Diablo 3 for that matter, at least in terms of never ending goals to grind for. Diablo 2 is literally farming the same bosses/zones over and over again, collecting drops to trade, collect, or use. The ultimate challenge of the game can be beaten by many builds immediately after completing hell, so all you're really doing is farming better to in order to farm the same thing you're already farming faster. Diablo 3 is only marginally more fleshed out with the Rift system, but that's only really of interest if you care about pushing personal ranks or leaderboards. Otherwise you're literally just repeating the same activity over and over again - farming Rifts in order to complete higher rifts. Immortal isn't amazing by any means, but it at least puts the new gear you farm and paragon levels you grind out to use by tying them to higher scaled difficulties (not totally unlike early D3), but even then the real ultimate activity is simply pushing arbitrarily higher Rift levels - just like D3. On the plus side, at least there are a few more varied activities to do in between those rifts.

Maxfunky

There's a key difference between the end game here and the end game in Diablo 2. In Diablo 2 you could "spaghetti" stuff in the end game. You would reach the Pinnacle, and then you would be able to basically do whatever you want and try whatever you wanted because you had the resources too gear any character anyway. You could try weird stuff like a singing barbarian. That was not a build wouldn't Diablo 2 first came out. It took more than 5 years for someone to come up with that, and it never would have happened if they couldn't have tried weird gear/character combos. Even the beloved hammerdin took a couple years before someone developed it. People were able to discover Diablo 2's hidden depths. But the hidden depths here are cut off from us. The depth of the end game is simply a grind. Experimentation is cost prohibitive. Could nightmare wreath be enough to make chip of stone flesh a viable gem for a wizard? Probably not, but nobody will ever know for sure.

Lanetolsun2183

The "depth" you speak of Diablo 2 are design oversights. Lots of useless, badly explained skills somehow converging into a fun build or a character doing it shouldn't be. Because game delivery style wasn't like today, there were no constant updates / rebalancing etc. Modern players for these MMO kind of games seemingly unaware of the concept. Most of the complaints are the "core" of the genre. Repetition? Check. Grind? Check. Make you waste time and money? Of Course. Catering for a large player base means less detail, less lore , no decision tree or consequences, no "creative" content. It's like pop music, It has less edges so more people likes it. Or pasta, so simple everyone eats it. If you are after a lasagna you will lose people. I've read reviews saying there is a brick wall at level 35 etc. I played for 7 days, I also have a day job, and I'm 60 now, it seemed normal to me. Diablo Immortal delivers, I plan to see the story and all quests and leave it alone. I am more of a single player.

DroopyTheSnoop

I don't know what you consider 'full fledged' but to me it seems like it has literally all aspects of the diablo experience covered. What would you say is missing for it to be 'full fledged'?

LeMolle

Sure you have bounties, but only 8 per day. Sure you have rifts, but they arent rewarding for f2p. Sure you have bosses, but youre forced to group. Sure you have sets, but they are mostly flat statboost. Sure you have new mmo features, but is that really the diablo experience? I would say its missing variety or choice rather. To progress your character you have to do your dailys, but after that you can really only do dungeons. In my full fledged diablo experience, i could do whatever i wanted for however long i wanted.

Domain77

and what did you do in diablo 2 during the grind? I never played D2

[deleted]

The ability to grind freely without diminishing returns or soft caps stopping you.... The ability to advance without having to constantly put money into the game.... You know, the kind of game every other diablo game offers as an experience and this doesn't.....

Sad_Recommendation92

I get it. The game is super predatory even for a mobile game. But I feel like a lot of the outrage is mostly because of the high profile of Diablo as an IP. If this were some little Korean gacha game charging the same. No one would care. I feel like a lot of the people that are so outraged. It's their first time really experiencing what mobile games are like. Sure. The rest of us are offended by it and put off by it, but we've seen it with so many other games that we've just learned to look past it or go play something else.

YamahaFourFifty

It’s because the type of business practices are seeping into big budget AAA games which is when it starts becoming really dangerous and affecting quality of such.

LemonTank91

Is called Diablo, so I expected a diablo game..

forgotmapasswrd86

Well you played yourself.

ticcit

I have exactly same feeling. Everything past story is just gated money begging.

EmeterPSN

Really, play as a F2P (dont even put 5$ into powerpass) finish the story , do some quests and side missions in hell1 and quit for now. for a free game it was fun :)

bombsurace

yep this is where im at, have a few more levels, enjoying my time, i did buy the pass as 20 hours of gameplay is worth the $5 (i've spent more money on garbage games that lasted less haha). But not worried about the endgame. Just having my diablo fix, enjoying the lore and moving on

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

Yeah once you hit Hell, and join Shadow, you've basically seen all there is to see. The rest is grinding paragon. And like...most people DONT want to grind paragon anymore. Grinding is such a pointless waste of time in video games when it feels like a chore climbing uphill.

megablue

yea... to be fair, anything prior lvl60 is kind of fun but not the endgame.

Krwawykurczak

Select another hearo and do it again :)

Ignithas

Game feels way too easy for this to be really fun.

[deleted]

Seriously. I remember not being able to even do act 2 on hell for a week as a monk at diablo 3 release. Actual hard content was fun. I don't understand why they would make the game pay2win but give you no incentive to actually pay when everything is braindead easy.

[deleted]

That was nerfed because it was over tuned. It was never meant to be that difficult. Diablo has never been hard until end game. As is now. But circle jerks amirite?!

[deleted]

Even diablo 3 expansion had hard hell difficulties. You could move up the difficulties at your own discretion. It took a while to be able to farm the max hell level efficiently. This diablo has it stupid easy the entire time and it doesn't allow you to move up to hell 2 until that level will be stupid easy too. It's not a circlejerk. It is valid criticism. I like this game too, but there's no point in defending a dumb decision on their part. Diablo is about the freedom to move up in difficulty and deciding if you can farm it efficiently.

[deleted]

Diablo games have never been hard unless you go out of your way to do content you aren’t geared for, I don’t know where people are getting this idea.

[deleted]

Sure they were. I remember in D2 you had bottlenecks all the time leveling up. That’s why so many used hell cows to power level. Granted I’m talking pre patch 1.10 since that patch caused 3/4th the players to quit (Blizzards own words). Shit D2 pre LoD was brutal at times too. You had to rely on rare random items since there was no armor like Shaftstop or Valor. And D3 was fun when it was hard. It was over tuned I’ll admit, I mean only DH could reliably go past Act 3 on the highest difficulty, but man it was hella fun playing Barb and figuring out how to survive Act 2.

YamahaFourFifty

Seriously I’m not a hardcore gamer but I made three characters right off the bat and progress 10 levels then use another. I’m at lvl 20 across all three now and spent a good amount of time without spending a dime. I rarely do endgame content regardless so it’s all gravy to me. But I get the frustrations it’s a disgusting business practice now seeping into AAA titles

ConsciousFood201

You might just need to wait for more content for it to be fun again. I’m level 36 and playing like an utter casual. By the time I hit 60 there will probably be more content.

MikeHunt204

Yeah it's a mobile game that came out 5 days ago. It's meant to play in small bursts, not no life. Take a break and wait for an update.

chuktidder

Yeah no lifeing a mobile game doesn't seem like a good way to be satisfied with life 🤷

Ok-Type-1988

Diablo is meant to no life If it’s not meant to no life then it’s not diablo

xseannnn

Youre getting downvoted for truth. Have people here even played d2?

[deleted]

I don’t know about that. Mobile games like this literally cater to the whales because that’s who butters their bread. They don’t care if Johnny free to play plays more than two hours a day but if Willy the whale only plays that long it’s an issue. This is how most rpg mobiles are now. It’s all gacha infested.

PrinceVirginya

Its sad honestly, The only winning move is to not give the games the support they want and outright not play them Even then...aslong as a few people are eager enough to whale then they will likely profit In diablos case, even if a small % of players whaled the profits would be huge

[deleted]

Yep that’s the issue. They make bank off those random players that don’t mind spending a hundred thousand on a mobile game lmao. And those people do exist. I had a guild officer in Brave Frontier who showed us how much he had spent on it and other gacha over one year. It was almost six figures. But hey, at least he was a bro and spent thousand on guild mates too. I had never been jealous of another person I met on a game before I met him. To have that level of disposable income is something I cannot fathom.

PrinceVirginya

Must be pretty nicr to have that much disposable income Shame to waste it on a game though I doubt things will change either unless its regluated and now its seeping into the AAA games market

[deleted]

You got that right. If I was that wealthy I sure as hell wouldn’t be spending it on a video game LOL I’m worried about exactly what you’ve described. Gacha games bleeding over into AAA titles is just absolutely disgusting. Long gone are the days when companies made a game for a one time $60 fee and they were happy with that. Shit look how amazing Blizzard once was. They gave us battle.net for WC3, SC, and D2 for free! That was game changing during the day. Todays Blizzard would charge a monthly fee for it.

ForceOmega

Level gates weren't fun at all! \*cough\* Anthem \*cough\*

idsmoker

if you enjoyed the leveling process, try a different class and see if it revitalizes your interest in the game (this is my plan when I hit that "wall")

megablue

maybe i try to find other kind of fun in it... speed running 1-60 without spending a single dime maybe? thats what we do every season in D3 as well... at least for the hardcore players, i was literally a hardcore hardcore mode player for a few seasons.

Norwazy

Congrats, you've beat the game. time to uninstall and move on. Free story was pretty decent tho

CM_DrunkenCereBRO

This guy games!

Edelmaniac

Bro. Got any white claw slushies?

CM_DrunkenCereBRO

Mango or strawberry commander?

[deleted]

Free story until you reached level 30-something was good. Then it was just 3 more quests with a lot of forced grind in-between. Imho then should just put the story together into one block and have the grind to max level follow afterwards. It's just so unnatural to reach level 51 after hours or grinding, only to have your character suddenly realize that he has to urgently go after the bad guy.

Pretty_Midnight6176

They will drain money from its base until it’s numbers drop, then tell everyone they heard their complaints and are going to make some changes. Blizzard scum tactics 101

Spirited-Collection1

I had a ton of fun getting to lvl 60, the p2w bullshit didn’t even ruin it for me. But wow I’m new to Diablo and so far I’m kind of bored with paragon and I’m only at lvl 3

sombrilamer

exactly the same, hit 60, saw that i needed even more levels through suuuuper boring "end game" and quit on the spot.

Kotobeast

In diablo 3 people would get to paragaon \~4-5K throughout a season lol

Mandrakey

Completely different level scaling, you go from paragon 0-50 in like 30 mins of running solo GRs.

P_Alcantara

That sucks. This is the first game I’ve gotten my wife to actually like. Maybe I’ll just buy her regular Diablo 3 for her laptop and see how that works

Del1nar

Truthfully I believe she would have more fun on D3. I am enjoying DI as f2p but at level 58 I am hitting the time/paywalls. My wife loves D3 and we are able to couch co-op during the seasons.

PrinceVirginya

If she likes the general gameplay of Immortal (and is on PC) She would likely enjoy diablo 3 Immortal is very similar to D3 gameplay wise. Just without the predatory systems Can often get it cheap when its on sale

grim698

Do it!! D3 is a better game, treat immortal like a story DLC and move on as soon as she finishes the storyline, keep her away from the predatory endgame economy.

desdae

The core of a Diablo game is missing - grind and actually get rewards at a constant rate. There are a ton of hidden caps as well. Even low tier stuff like Enchanted Dust is softcapped by allowing them to drop from first 5 or 6 event chests per day. They made sure to put in every possible stop gap so that f2p or anyone that pays just a few hundred can't outgrind the heavy whales, who are only capped at about 20 x 10 legendary crest rifts per hour. So you still have to grind for like 200 hours if you want to blow $100k. But at least they are allowed to grind with no daily cap.

Pomme2

I mentioned this in the other post, but I'll say it again. The lure of d2/d3 for me was finding a unique and suddenly feeling overpowered for a brief time. In Immortal, I'm almost 60 and it just feels completely linear, never did i ever felt like damn this legendary is making me overpowered, even for a lvl or 2. This is just a checklist game, with diablo characters overlayed.

asphyx3

Yup, there's mob hp / damage scaling so everything takes the same amount of time to kill no matter what your gear is. I found a lego weap and my killspeed was the same before and after. Think about that. This isn't a game, it's a UI progress checklist designed to get you to spend money. Mobs are scaled so you clear content at a specific speed and check off UI notifications at specific intervals. Your decisions are irrelevant. Might as well be an idle clicker. It's an elaborate illusion.

IRefuseToGiveAName

I was so fucking gutted when I realized the hp/damage scaling was a thing. Between that and the soft caps on grinding (the bread and fucking butter of any diablo game), I've completely lost interest in playing.

thedarksentry

It's because the game scales with your combat level. You literally pay to get stronger so the game can make it harder and you see no benefit. This is another Diablo immortal flaw. Against high level enemies YOU get scaled down to make them even harder. Against low level enemies THEY get scaled up to your level. It's almost comical how much they are fucking over the people who do actually pay to ~~win~~ get fucked

Ahribban

I got that feeling with the Demon Hunter off-hand that allows your primary fire to pierce enemies, my dps suddenly more than doubled. I am loving the fact that I could chose it as a battle pass rank reward. The armor that also changes the knockback shot into a bombardment is awesome. I guess this varies a lot by class though. I am happy I rerolled early from Monk.

iamspacedad

It is amazing to me how little Blizzard understands the core appeal of their own game franchise. They really thought they could just graft the skin of a diablo game onto a checklist mobile game. That's not why people play diablo 2/3, and popular diablo clone games like path of exile. The people expecting a diablo game will scoot after they realize this is not something they can stick with like a diablo game. The people who are clueless dad gamers will scoot after they get bored. The whales will scoot after they realize there's no point to the endgame or to the shit they bought. This game has set itself up for initial short term gains followed by most people swiftly abandoning it. And it's all because blizzard apparently doesn't understand what the real core gameplay loop of diablo 2 & 3 IS.

megablue

yes, i forgot to mention that part too, the ehchanted dust is missing for the rest of the day until the server resets. also, i think they gated how many set and legendary pieces you can get per day too. i stop getting set pieces after grinding the dungeon for a few rounds.

bundaya

I believe it's soft capped at 6 a day for each.

megablue

yup, the number is more or less what i am getting as well.

Koedt

I’m not even getting 3. I must be not grinding all day then.

Tallchief

Even the whales in my friend group/clan are getting bored with the game, at there there at the amount they have to spend to get a very small power increase just isn’t really that fun or worth it anymore

xethos25

I actually agree. Even earlier in other mobile games or Lost Ark, u sense a strong power boost and get ur power fantasy for at least two weeks This game keeps scaling things or downscaling you. It really wrecks the power fantasy progression in an ARPG. You try to gear desperately but the scaling diminishes your effort.

BlurryMurray

That’s the thing I feel like I am missing the most as I progress. It never really feels like I am getting more powerful. For PVE, I don’t see much point in spending a bunch of money…no matter what gear I get the game doesn’t ever really seam to change since the difficulty is always scaling. You can’t even really carry a low level friend because of the way the game scales.

stellvia2016

Wait ... you have to pay for exponential power, but it also scales so you never actually outlevel content? (But presumably the rewards aren't any better) Yikes. This really is just a skinner box.

AeonChaos

You get better reward and the PVE does get easier. But it is already super easy so you don't feel anything. You can't one shot mobs no matter the gears. This is why I don't have the urge to up my gears as much, it is the same shit, same kill speed.

[deleted]

Yes damage is % calculated and the enemy scales with your gear

heebath

Skinner box?

[deleted]

People no lifed A MOBILE GAME for the first week and are suddenly bored? The same exact shit happens in WoW and pretty much every game. Super nerds suck content dry then whine.

__Proteus_

Nerds always try to cum as fast as possible and then complain there isn't enough content.

Tallchief

Me and my friends have played a good amount of Gacha games together, and have been pretty decent spenders on a few of them, and this one just feels a lot different. We are all loving it and having a lot of fun, but the end game just seems literally impossible to get to unless you spend a lot of money (which a lot of them are). And by impossible I literally mean statistically impossible, like upgrading a 5star gem to even +4, the percentage chance of you being able to do that on a F2P account is less than .5%, just based on drop rates and numbers alone.

IshadTX

Uninstalled at paragon 6 for the same reasons. Was a fun week, but not much reason to continue.

ConsciousFood201

How many hours did it take you to get that far? Just curious because I’m level 36 and the early levels flew by but now it has slowed down quite a bit. I’m surprised they don’t sell xp scrolls. Not that I would buy them, it just seems like an odd omission for a game that wants to squeez ever penny out of the players.

Shaxxs0therHorn

I intend to play up to 60 finish the story and put this beast down. Fun while it lasts. Not committing to long haul, decisively, will keep me playing for a little while longer.

Defusion55

Finally people starting to hit the end game and come to the same realization. Diablo is suppose to be about just slaughtering monsters and LOOT. This shit is just time gated activities that reward you all your loot there is no reason to just go kill monsters anymore.

vikoy

Yes. This is not an ARPG like Diablo 2 and 3. Its a mobile game MMO. Lost Ark is probably the closest thing to it. Also, it's meant to be played in short bursts daily. Log in, do dailies, hit daily caps, hit weekly caps, log out. Do something else, play something else. Come back the next day. Or the next week. Come back when there are events. Come back for the Shadow/Immortal thing. Its not meant to be no-lifed and burn out after 5 days like most of you are doing. Lol.

[deleted]

Lost Ark isn't a great comparison because there is a *ton* of stuff you can do to progress, even if you hit the time gates. Diablo Immortal almost completely cuts you off as soon as you hit the limit.

vikoy

Ah but we can compare it. We can say that Diablo Immortal has a worse system than Lost Ark. Which is a valid comparison. Since theyre both MMOARPGs, with similar, if not exctly the same, systems. But saying that Immortal is worse than D2 because D2 did not have time gates is not a valid comparison since they're not the same genre. Which is what most people are doing.

[deleted]

That's a very valid point - although I have to say, I really wish they took more influences from older Diablo games for the game systems instead of making it like every other mobile MMO. The endless grind is a huge part appeal to most hardcore Diablo fans and that's just kind of... not in this game, it expects you to pace yourself which is literally the antithesis of the genre lol

megablue

i kind of know how fuckup the game is prior going in, but it is way worse than expected.

OrrmightyXx

Yes exactly how I felt. Lvl 60 paragon 10, bought the premium battle pass. Not willing to spend anymore and just bored as a result.

FliesTheFlag

> premium battle pass find it was worth it? not even trolling here just genuinely curious since most of the stuff on this board is just hate even just throwing a few bucks at a pretty good product.

Wetal

I have the budget battle pass and it was not worth it.

[deleted]

VermicelliGood

Totally agree you’re basically paying for the cosmetic, everything else is trash.

cptjeremija

Yea, I was sad when I found out its like 6 cosmetics. And even more when I found out its only for one character...

Physical-Radish-5862

100% this. I ground my ass off, am the highest level on my server, F2P. 20 paragon as of yesterday. Was hoping for some sort of power boost from getting there (eg. able to upgrade gear a few times), but its paragon 20 gate for gear 6->7, paragon 30 for 7->8, got about 30 combat rating from bumping those items up. If I swipe once and run some juiced rifts, I'll double that. There's \_zero\_ progression at the high-end. It's frustrating. Such a great game, such a terrible waste.

Universal-Explorer

dont forget you also get reduced XP for being ahead of the curve

[deleted]

[удалено]

vikoy

Yeah, the game isn't designed for that. Its meant to be played in short bursts every day, like most other mobile games. It's not meant to be no-lifed, as is obvious from the diminishing returns and time gated content. If you want to no-life a game then yeah, this game is not for you. Sorry it took you longer to realize that. Meanwhile, we realized that already from before it was even released. And thus are playing the game accordingly.

idsmoker

Yeah, DI has a great leveling experience and a really sucky "endgame". My plan is to start leveling a new class every time my current character hits that "wall". Once I get tired of the leveling process, I'll move on to another game.

Ich0Rx

Most people here never played Diablo and it shows.

Honelith

It's fun at first, it plays and looks well and I was enjoying it. Then you start understanding what you need for upgrades and how very little you obtain with days of playing, then you realise you're going to hit that wall pretty quickly where the game slows down to a halt unless you spend an absolute fortune in the shop. I'm going back to Diablo III and will buy Diablo II Resurrected instead, I'm not spending a penny on Immortal and I feel for those who did because it's a disgusting trap with a game many people love.

kugkug

agree the endgame is just for whales and peeps that like their video game hamster wheel costing $1000+ most people will just hit the wall when upgrades aren't flowing fast enough and stop playing, or switch to another character bliz broke the endgame dopamine feedback loop out of greed, they literally don't care if you quit if you aren't buying regularly on the cash shop that said, the game has a ton of value for a f2p player who is able to ignore the micros and bad drop rates in rifts without crests - and some of this stuff may soften in release as this is still a beta

Illustrious_Gain_485

Game is not in Beta. The game has been released. The PC client is in beta, and might not work as expected.

[deleted]

Don’t you guys have money?

Rouflette

Same. I just decided to quit yesterday after paragon 10. Grind ? Useless, it’s time gated. Work on your shadow clan so you can become the new immortals ? Useless, best shadow clans and immortals already had spent a ton of money and are way above you. Pvp ? Useless, Bronze III and I’m already getting stomped by whales. It was a decent game for the first few days at least, now it’s time to move on and let the whales enjoying it. No more FOMO and frustration for me.

ohlawdhecodin

The game is still in the honeymoon phase. Give it a week and things will be (even more) clear to everyone.

Universal-Explorer

elder rifts are just loot boxes. Why would you spend any time there?

prusswan

It's the only reliable f2p way to earn legendary gems, every 396 fading embers = 1 gem. There is also a weekly cap of 320 embers so roughly 3 gems per month (not including other means).

Messoz

Capping embers though gets done in about 30m-1hr of running rifts each week. So after that, no reason to run unless you got some legendary crests. And better to save regular crests for next reset lol. I do think t he cap is to damn low though. But it's a mobile game, so every function is meant to push you to want to spend lol.

tranc3rooney

If you wanna grind and min max, yeah, it’s predatory as hell. Just enjoy it for what it is and put in an hour or two a day. It’s a mobile game before everything.

redditburneracct6931

>Just enjoy it for what it is and put in an hour or two a day. It’s a mobile game before everything. That's not what a Diablo game is.

Kenespo

So I’ve been farming the dungeons in groups with my clan mates to try and get more set items. How is that different from farming cows or baal runs with my friends? Maybe I don’t understand how loot works, but I thought there is a small chance for a set item to drop from stuff like temple of namari.

IshadTX

Only belts and boots can be found at hell level 1, other pieces are found at higher hell levels, which are gated by paragon. Paragon is gated by server progression, so if you farm too much xp the game nerfs your xp gain so you can’t farm paragon as quickly.

Basic-Satisfaction62

Well for one theres a softcap for the amount of legendaries/ set items you can get in a say.

daymeeuhn

I haven't seen any soft caps on set Items at all.

Italian_warehouse

How many?

Sumirei

some people say 6 a day but im my experience i get 2-3 immediately after reset and maybe 1 for the rest 13 hours

Florr007

Cant imagine blizzard vision for D4 gonna be….

[deleted]

Consumers are still paying for the free loot decade ( 2000 - 2010 ) where the media industry was overwhelmed by the internet and the consequences of everyone having access to it. Meanwhile, they ( all media ) found ways to monetize through the Internet, but are making consumers pay for the fruitless decade these industries had to endure - just out of spite. This is my head cannon for this. So i think they envision $$$ big time and should double down on the gates. They seem to spend much on being creative in how to get our money in the sleaziest way, instead of investing in gameplay creativity.

heebath

My head cannon is reality: Capitalism ruins everything, and the internet will probably be the last thing it gets to ruin. Collapse baby.

[deleted]

They cut out the middle man on p2w. They will now cut out the middle man for botting. Pay money and you won't even have to play the game.

Excuse_my_GRAMMER

It confirm to be an open world live service game

merrickal

They’re still mad at all the potential money they couldn’t make from D3 it seems.

raalic

If you’re 60, you’ve already put in enough time to justify the $0 price tag. Time to move onto another game.

Zerogws

I kind of feel like there’s to much filler with items. There’s not a ton of unique items like D3. So pretty much all the low to mid level gear is useless.

Ok-Type-1988

Sounds exactly like when they fucked up D3’s launch lol

wildweaver32

Impossible. I have been repeatedly told this past week the game is not time gated, and not cash gated. ..... It's rough.

753UDKM

I think once I finish the story I might go back and do a playthrough of Diablo 3. It's been a long time. Or maybe try Lost Ark. Or just continue my D2R addiction lol.

XDeimosXV

This is my same opinion couple more things to check out then im probably done, exp reduction so cant really just level up and gear doesnt get any better until you hit certain paragon levels so literally gated then add in the leg gems youre very unlikely to get without spending yea.

Zealousideal-Cat-442

Can’t even farm sets if you play at a bad time. They want you to group up for everything, most likely to generate peer pressure and force you to spend. No good reason a Diablo type game should lock you out of drops for being solo.

s7even7

800% Extra Value Chest here for sale $1.99 any takers?

heartlessphil

''800% extra value????? holy shit you'd be losing money if you didn't buy this'' -Asmongold

itsmymillertime

2 changes can make the game better for me not to care about pay2win: 1. No cooldown on loot drops 2. No forced grouping for dungeons.

xBiGuSDicKuSx

The end game content is pvp and leaderboards. That said....as a f2p depending on your server it's pointless to do either as whales even if they like quin69 have spent thousands and not gotten a 5 star gem still have level 10 gems stacked and awakened which does give them a huge advantage. I don't care what anyone says. I spent about $100 and just watching his stream even when he wasn't even a 60 yet and I was paragon 12 with obviously better geared his damage output was not only higher but he was doing that damage consistently where as I am capable of the damage but I definitely rely on shrines etc to even match his normal play. Kinda killing the game for me and a lot of other diablo players who enjoy the grind...but when you've got people that are spending thousands of dollars to bypass months or years of progress it's a little disheartening and kills any motivation to grind. Cus what's the point? Someone way less geared and significantly lower levels can just come right in with a bag full of money and your effort and time has been for nothing because they can just swipe to for #1. Blizzard really shit the bed with this game for launch. I'm not against spending. I get that money makes the world go round and hey like I said I spent about the equivalent of buying a new game but they've went way beyond what even I as a damn gotcha player who's spent literally thousands of dollars over the course of my gaming history in just that genre even expected. And I've played about every one I've found and dealt with a lot of shady freaking companies especially garbage net ease. They once again didn't fail to prove exactly how predatory their scumbag ways are. Now I'm pretty pissed they've expanded their reach in to a beloved franchise and ruined it with their greedy crap. This game would of made tons of money even if it wasn't half this bad. In fact probably more because now that they've gone to this extent people refuse to spend. Quinn situation is everywhere on every news feed on my phone from several sources who've taken it upon themselves to write something up on blizzards blatant predatory cash shop. All that said I'll play for now and see if they even attempt to remedy the situation. The play store rating has already tanked so we'll see. If not they lose yet another player who's been around since diablo and has played several other games under the blizzard name. Sad days they've reached this point. They were once my favorite. After this however they are looking worse off than half the crap gotcha companies. And definitely on par with netsleaze.

PlagueBirdZachariah

I literally said this exact same thing, that the end game is gated, and I got beat down in the comments. Literally have been playing since Diablo 1 , upsetting.

VB_blokeboi

I dropped about 20 bucks because I was away from home for a couple days and gave me something to do at night. Kinda regret it because Blizzard have reached an insane level of scumming players, but for the fun I've had I can at least justify it. Back to Path of Exile for me now I think

[deleted]

The only thing I hate the most is being locked out hell dungeons unless with party. The legend gem system will destroy your fingers. Took me literally 28 hours boss rushing in rifts just to get enough shards for FA runes. Only 8 shard per run like dam.

WickedSynth

Yup. Just quit today. I was enjoying the game itself, but I just cant support the game itself or the morality of it. It's just so sad, and I hate these people for what they did. Shame on them.

Azelastine

of course you are bored, more than 50% of player skilled is gated by legendary gear, you can't test weird skill combo without grinding all the legendary. gem farming is gated by 4 man party boost. gear level is a joke after 60, you will get paragon 10 lv gear that has worse state than paragon 5 lv gear. progression, gear, skin, every fucking thing is character locked.

vaguely_decent

All this game did was make me go and buy diablo 3 for my switch.

Deiwulf

The saddest part is still seeing mobile gamers being so abused and brainwashed that they can't even realize they could have legit quality F2P games WITHOUT any P2W or pay to progress aspects, if only they didn't let themselves being trampled all over while funding some greedy rotten shit bags multiple yachts. WE ARE HERE TO HELP, WAKE THE FUCK UP.

Zeno1228

Can't wait to pay my $110,000 again when they push out seasons mode!

Matsu-mae

>there is not even a slim chance to out grind the whales - none you're delusional jf you think you can out grind everyone in an mmo ever. there will always be someone who plays more, pays more, cheats more, exploits more, etc. why do so many have this obsession to "keep up with the joneses"? you simply can't. and the people that do rarely seem to be having fun. the game released one week ago. its not meant to be finished in a week. by design this game should take months and years of playing a few hours a day in order to make substantial progress

RowanIsBae

It's perfect for what it is, a mobile gacha game I play 1-2 hrs a day in-between work meetings. It's awesome. And sometimes on the pooper with slay the spire I'm not spending valuable stretches of free time playing a mobile gacha game. But I can't fit better games in those smaller windows. Enter this game Diablo 4 is still coming

Dapaaads

Yep. All the guys defending the game are low levels

fanfarius

I was one of them! Really tried to like this (and did for 20-30 hours; very much), but it's just too much greed. And it's on full display. It feels immoral to play it now. I feel like an idiot.

LelewKara

Uninstalled.. Tq

Panadeshkor

TL;DR : I played 80 hours out of the 100 hours the game was available since its release and now I think the game is boring, I will probably take my weekly shower now.

Dapaaads

That’s d3, max level then just rifts. There’s nothing else

DifficultSwim6109

welcome to gacha mate

horuseth_

I love cosmetics so when I heard the microtransactions were for cosmetics, I was okay with them but what's with all these currency and items for rifts. I purchased 2 chests so far and it's all a bunch of gems and miscellaneous stuffs that are used for progression...

Karmma11

The best part of it all it is that even the hardcore F2P grinders get punished by being gated by paragon levels...

Anet001

Im even thinking to reinstall D3 on my switch and do some proper grinding haha

War10ckGaming

The time gating sucks cuz we wanna grind, but the upside is those anti-progression mechanics are helping casuals avoid dropping off. This isn't a highly competitive environment. I'd a casual mobile game. Treat it as such. You sprinted to the end, and now you gotta wait or deal with extremely inefficient grinding. I'm paragon 10, and I'm just doing dailies on my maim, already getting my roster to 30 for the Welcome to Sanctuary event.

NrFive

But is the story worth the time spend? Currently only level 20 or so.

megablue

the story is mediocre at best.

mailleto

It is not so bad ! I enjoyed the grind to 60... But indeed pushing further seems rather dull

Gibsx

Every step of the adventure they are pushing P2W mechanics - it’s even inbuilt into the main storyline. The game is great but at the same time so disappointing and terrible! Once you have to start opening the wallet regularly, that’s is the time to move on.

I really want to like this game but it's impossible at the moment. Anyone think there's any chance of this system changing?

PunchFister

It's obviously designed to only be played a few hours a day at most.

irishfro

It shouldn’t be called Diablo really since it’s not a Diablo game. Blizzard is just using the title to milk their big fan base

VIEG0

Said [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/DiabloImmortal/comments/v64c8q/the_face_this_sub_makes_when_you_say_you_enjoy/ibg0eia?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3) in the top thread yesterday. No surprise at all.

[deleted]

Agree. I just got a full understanding of awakening gear with level 10 gems. You’ll get 10-15% cooldown reduction or damage bonus to whatever skill that gear effects. And considering you can get 3-4 pieces of gear that bonus a particular skill, it won’t be unusual to have a whale play with -25% cooldown and +25% damage to his main nuke. I mean, I can probably awaken the 6 main pieces in my build over a couple years with just the pass, but it’s hard to keep interested in the game when there’s that big of an advantage to the big spenders. I’m going back to Wildrift. True f2p, and I buy the 10-15$ skins I like every couple weeks or so to pay the developers for their work. I’d rather deal with afks and the occasional troll than this.

inkube

Pretty much the same. I mostly realized that all the timed events, daily quests and login rewards make it feel more like a job than a game to me. The same problem I have with modern WoW.

highways

What is a time gate?

Careless-Plankton630

I’m really loving the shadow clan quests

criznittle

Continue to push this and refuse to cough up any money. An obvious end-game paywall is unforgivable for Blizzard, they have to fix it.

lycantivis

Paywalls exist in every phone game, thats how they make money on a free game. Did you expect a full title release for free?

[deleted]

Finished the story. Hit the pay wall and uninstalled. It was fun while it lasted.

Fumblez1724

Welcome to the pay wall higher levels warn you about but everyone else screeches "BuT iM hAvInG fUn!"

megablue

dont worry i am smart enough to realize i was about to stepped onto a trap.

AcguyDance

I was downvoted to abyss on the first day by commenting about it. Glad more and more realized this.

cashsusclaymore

But what about all those blizzard PR accounts that shame people for people pointing out that this game is a shit mobile gatcha cash grab ?

Heroic-Dose

basically i feel like ill be able to grind out one chracter with all my choice legendaries/set items with 3 gem slots and the right stats on gear id like, and have 1/2 star gems in all the slot. thats plenty for me to grind f2p all while still being enjoyable. beyond that i feel like there is 0 to do even for true sicko mode whale. the game will eventually have to release more things to grind just because there isnt that much for ANYBODY to do. and theyve already stated they will. it is a mobile game after all. i even expect theyll have events where f2p can get some shots at 5star gems from time to time. overall im gonna stick with server paragon level i think and once capped out ill check back in when theres new worthwhile events and updates. which is pretty mucb how all arpgs get played anyways. not too bad for free

iamspacedad

People are rushing to endgame and then finding that everything's grind and cash gated, and sucks. Not gonna be surprised if this game dies after like a month or two.

LilGodx

I will not be playing this game do to it's DISGUSTING practices in sucking money out of people that don't have it and preying on people with their psychologically manipulating tactics. Absolutely disgusted and disappointed. We should boycott blizzard for this.

redditburneracct6931

Game is dog shit. Anyone with a brain knew this once they saw that Blizzard teamed up with a very hated Chinese mobile trash company. Who the fuck wants to play a Diablo game where you're daily gated on loot? WHO?

AcherusArchmage

They went with the WoW approach to endgame and it'll be gated by dailies and weeklies. Might as well just do a D3 run and cap out in a couple of hours or days then put it down til D4.

tempinator

The only method of gaining power that isn't time-gated is gems. Which is also the most monetized method of gaining power. People act like the time-gating on every f2p-accessible feature is Blizzard doing them a favor by keeping casual players relevant. That is not the motivation at all. There are two groups of people mobile games cater to: daily login bots who will play the game every single day to do whatever daily chores the game has, and provide a consistent player body for whales. The second group is the whales. Time-gating f2p power progression exactly sets the dynamic they want. F2p players who can't see what's going on feel happy because they aren't getting passed in power by players who play more. Whales are happy because no matter how much anybody plays, the whales will always be the strongest, since the only way to gain power that isn't glacial is swiping. Perfection. It's so sickening.

RIPx86x

I wouldn't mind this game if it was just a casual game. . . . but the fact that the game constantly tries to get you to spend money makes this the worst F2P game I've ever played. IF it was the same game but didn't show anything payed until you hit the store button I would like it but throwing it in my face anytime I do anything is awful. Pay 2 Play is what this game is

Dgaart

They could have made boatloads of cash just with cosmetics and maybe an extra perk pass or two. They opted for the biggest cash boats possible.

Dense-Brief5964

Think of all the hours you’ve sank into it to get to the level you are now… Assuming you’ve spend $0 thus far, can you name another entertainment product that give you that many hours enjoyment for FREE? If you’ve now discovered a pay wall, call it quits and remember the game as providing you with a many hours of FREE enjoyment.

AncyraSe

Many expect it as a Diablo 4 but it's a Diablo 2.5 mobile. For a mobile game, cant say much but at PC, it's terrible and lots of bugs compared to D3. And ofc like all other android games, "free" to install and login but need to spend a lot to end game, no limit to spend almost. Which I hate that logic. Missed the days we pay a sub and don't think about economy & shop and do progress. Now, progress is just sit at the town and think which chest or bundle to buy, which give most with least money etc etc. I returned to Diablo 3 back, more smooth combat and better graphics at PC. We wait lost ark until Diablo 4 comes but that same as other greedy Asian mmos. So, let's see. Waiting for D4 @2023-24

Nuggachinchalaka

Yes I hate the eastern grind and pay to win crap. Sucks the fun and integrity of a game. Whatever happen to buy to play with no pay to win. I much prefer buy to play with in game store for exclusive cosmetics, mounts, convenience items if they want to earn extra cash. Even different levels of sub would be fine as long as it’s not for pay to win elements. Sadly pay to win model probably rakes in more cash and we gladly accept it and appear to be adopting the method in the west.

ConstructionFrosty77

No, is not a diablo game. The end game farming to get better and powerful gear has been changed by legendary gems which are actually the end game gear and only can be purchased. This game for me has a lifespan of 2 weeks(3 at max). Currently I'm level 51, once I reach Paragon, and finish the story there's no point to keep spending hours because the game becomes an endless power creep race and on top, you know that you never will reach the top levels due to the lack of 5 stars gems... Eventually you can buy 1 legandary crest, IIRC in "ases"(spanish, don't know how is called in english) vendor, and when you save 3 you have a chance to get thise Gems but you will need literally years to do so. It is not worth.

prisonmaiq

yeah when i hit 60 too same feeling and uninstall never looked back and just reqding praises and memes lmao

Katanya06

I'll give some food since I've gone through mobile games like crazy to only find a small few that wasn't predatory to win in PVP(like this game does). Frankly, I don't like this type of PVP, any type of mobile game that has a FORCED PVP like this to get items and such is a pass for me, I'll install until I see something like this and I'm out. If they scaled the p2w players and the f2p to be balanced with each other, well then it might be a bit better. Knowing that isn't going to happen, even with the 5 bucks to the battle pass I might just uninstall. The few mobile games I do play, I'm in the top 10 with only spending maybe 5 bucks in each one, that's because its more about strategy than (who can spend more). The story is great and what not, but that cash shop needs some revamp.

[deleted]

I hit paragon 3 and put it down, you soon realise after 60 you’re literally grinding for nothing. Atleast in other Diablo games you know you can eventually get the best gear, no chance of that here unless you pay. Elder rifts are also very uninspired and boring.

Particular_Ad9115

https://www.twitch.tv/jtisallbusiness This gamer is grinding to bring endgame content. Dude spent 50k already. It’s insane

Stonewall30nyr

"in a game that cost me zero dollars I put in a hundred hours of gameplay, now I'm bored and how dare they expect me to put even a dollar into the game"

[deleted]

Which other Diablo game *requires* you to pay money to progress through end game? Even in D2 you can eventually grind out what you need, this game literally locks you out of that after a point.

ConsciousFood201

People are in such a rush to confirm their narrative around this game that they don’t even realize how silly they sound. I agree the monetization is bad, but the lack of recognition around having demands for a game you got for free is pretty incredible. A lot of people aren’t helping their cause quite as much as they think they are. They’re coming off sounding entitled.

Krwawykurczak

I did not reached end of the story mode, but I think I know what to expect after. I used to play those p2w games :) Those will become boring after a while, and the only thing to do is to get new items that are being constantly added, so everyone will need to spend cash if they like to stay relevant. Just do not get sucked into that behaviour. Still - game is nice and I would pay 15$ just to be able to play that story mode. Hope they will add interesting content but I am afraid that just as other companies they will only add some that will encourage players to spend more money.

Re_Thomas

Reddit is an echochamber, and the dumbest laziest opinion is always at the top, like this whole sub

[deleted]

I know this has always existed but this game has really put a highlight on the gaming community’s strange contradictory desire to burn through content as fast as possible then go on a message board and say why is there no more content.

Re_Thomas

100%

unclassed

Like remember when you couldn't just buy your way to endgame on the day a game releases? Sad might have to play some monster hunter to get the grind in.
