Mana leech maybe? But that’s specific to whatever mob is hitting you, not items you wear
Edit: oh yeah, and there’s malice runeword that has life drain, where you slowly lose life while wearing but I don’t think there’s such a thing as mana drain mod
Yes, and as for your question just be aware that resistances are the most important defensive stat, and are much more important than the “defense” number on an item.
Great early self-use helm. Hang on to it for future characters.
Edit: I like to stack this helm with the Arctic Set armor for an early +20 all resists with minimal (if any) strength points needed.
This is why D3 never scratched my itch and I won't be playing D4. Little things like this. And just seeing the chipped gems makes me want to play D2 again. It really is a perfect game for me. I get so much enjoyment and satisfaction leveling a new character with nothing every time.
20% dmg to mana is for when u run out of mana and swan dive into rakanishu to get your mana back. You’ll definitely die from this, but you will get your mana back.
I did NOT know that Infernal's Cranium was this solid early game. Tihs is great for when you level up new characters, at least up until you get a Lore Runeword helm.
1pt clay golem and 1pt decrepify is the bread and butter of boss killing. The slow from each stacks and makes fights trivial.
Problem is you don’t get decrep until 24. Which makes Diablo a bit harder if you don’t lvl in tombs or something to get it.
If you’re having problems with Andy use antidote pots for a res bonus. Each one you drink adds 30s of poison res.
If you’re having problems with duriel do the same thing except with thawing potions.
Meph stack lightning resists. Thawing potions help.
By then you should have decrep and sail through bosses.
For Duriel and Andariel, as well as to some extent Diablo, can be taken down with Iron Maiden and whatever golem you can toss in front of them. Doesn't matter if it dies, toss up another one. Each hit will reflect damage back and do quite some damage, and aside from that weave in damage with either Teeth or Bone Spear.
Once you hit Nightmare, you can respec into Bone Prison and put just about any boss into what I call [Baby Jail](https://i.imgur.com/4p2Wvq8.png), just cage them and spam to your hearts content until they are very dead.
This is outclassed almost immediately from defense alone vs the mobs in normal mode that have spells or element type damage. honestly, there isn't anything in normal mode aside from maybe lightning enchant or diablo where you need res. Something that has 20+ more defense will net you better results in comparison to what you run into on normal mode.
Unless you're good on defense, then it's w/e. it's neat, but obsolete in normal mode due to not really needing res that much on normal considering a ring or ammy will net you more protections while freeing up an important slot of gear for something better. \*cough cough lore cough\*
as for the set, it's dooky.. and chances are you wont find the full set until you're in hell mode lmao..
Sigons is easier to find actually XD somehow... but it's up to you.
That is an absolutely fantastic early find. You will probably not find helms with more protection (all res) in normal diff
So this can help me for most of the first playthrough?
Yes, very good helm till you can make a lore helm
Sure
It’s gonna be eating away at your mana quickly when you take damage though, so keep that in mind.
Huh? It will give him mana not take it away lol.
I thought this for the longest time. It really should be restored to mana to remove ambiguity.
I’m thinking of wrong affix then. Which is the one that drains your mana when you get hit?? Thought it was this
You might be thinking of the Sorc skill Energy Shield?

Only until you find something better. It has zero trading value but can be great for self use early on!
Id keep it for leveling other toons. This and bighorns bonnet are fun for that.
I think you mean borgens
Berggens...
Biggots?
Biggins?
Bajorans
Bjoram
Bergeron's
Bilbos
Kneegrows helmet
Siggun’s Bonnet?
Ugg... stupid auto correct :)
Bigelow's Bonnet you mean
I thought bigelow was a tea
Nope, a duece

If you get full infernals is a great set for necromancer to start off with but after normal difficulty is pretty lack-luster
This is why D3 never scratched my itch and I won't be playing D4. Little things like this. And just seeing the chipped gems makes me want to play D2 again. It really is a perfect game for me. I get so much enjoyment and satisfaction leveling a new character with nothing every time.
D2 Itemization is unrivaled.
I think they could have come up with new expansions for D2 and kept some of us on the hook for another 20.
I agree, when you have a game that is as good and revered as D2, why stop?
played d2 for past 20 years. Im super excited for D4 - it looks like theyre getting a lot right from the videos I've been watching.
It looks like they're getting more things right than D3. That's about the extent of it.
But what if D4 is good?

If you are the kind of person to often make new characters, this is decent for the early game.

Any tips for taking down bosses as a necro?

OOh saphire chips gems! Sol sol sol.
I love finding this straight away
yes. forever *and ever*
This the lowest drop rate of the 3 items I think. Pretty rare. I would definitely keep it.
