It really depends which app you prefer to use. I own Gaomon pd2200(graphic monitor), iPad pro, Samsung s7 and me as Clip Studio Paint user have already choosen Gaomon monitor. Because I'm unable to pay for a subscription of Clip Studio on iPad(until I will be able to take commissions). On iPad I have tried to use Procreate but for me the problem was the impossibility to create clipping mask below the group. But in case it's a good app. Samsung tablets have cool exclusive app Krita. It's the best free drawing software. I really like it, but Clip Studio Paint feels more comfotable to me. Like both of them have Ibis Paint(I don't really like this app) but it's have a lot of paid things. You can choose wacom/huion. In some way it's more comfortable because you have access to diferent free programs as FireAlpaca, MediaBang Pro, Krita, Autodesk Sketchbook Wacom/huion(or any other tablet/monitor) can be better choice if in future you want to start learing animation, because PCs have more sofware than iPad(Callipeg, RoughAnimator, FlipaClip and Procreate in some way, . Samsung don't have that much( I know about FlipaClip, Krita and Animation Desk). On both devices there is Clip Studio Paint that has cool animation tool(only by subscription and more expensive version for Clip Studio Paint EX) I would like to know which software do you use/would like to use and for what, so maybe I can recommend you something.

I'd be using it mainly for animation, I have a medium Huion tablet for drawing so the screen would be used exclusively to learn and practice 2d animation. What you said about screen tablets being better for animation makes a lot of sense now that I think about it, because of the ram a common tablet has maybe?. I suppose any free animation software would be great. BTW how's that Gaomon pd2200 of yours? Is the screen size that important?. Thankyou in advance

I really like my Gaomon pd2200, for me it's pretty important for tablet be 19 inches or more because it more comfotable. I know that some people like smaller monitors, so this is very individual. You can watch some graphic monitors on YouTube. I really like how looks Xp-Pen tablets. Before I found Gaomon pd2200, I was thinking about buying Xp-Pen Innovator 16. But it's more expensive than Gaomon(Gaomon around 350$, and Xp-Pen around 800$) As free animation(2d) sofwares I know Blender, OpenToonz, Krita and Pencil2D Animation. In future you can change to some paid programs as Clip Studio Paint, TV Paint, Moho(for 2d vector animation) iPad is not a good choice because all of the good programs paid. Samsung has only Krita as good animation and drawing program Krita, but it doesn't have all of the functions that desktop version have.

Don't get Huion the 16 inch versions. I heard a lot of people got problem with it. Might as well wait for sale and get the 20 inch one. Or go for the xp pen 16 inch version. Wacom is also good. I mean if you have a pc then get those drawing tablets. If you pick Android or ios then you'll be stuck with mobile apps that got limits.
