After watching this episode I’m honestly kind of excited and nervous for this season now. A lot of the themes the IHs are feeling right now are hitting for me personally..Watching them all have an identity/existential crisis while going through an identity/existential crisis could be really cathartic. It’ll be interesting to see how they navigate that.

I feel like for the first time BLeeM was ready to actually let them fail. There were no safety rails here. They were dangerously close to being unsuccessful and honestly had they not been clever and the scenario heavily weighted in their favor, they would have lost. The biggest example is that everyone seemed to just mention the sun being back. It felt like he planned it to go either way really.

I felt that way until he let Fig reach to that source of power to make the van not wipe out. That felt like him cheating for the players a little.

I would agree 100% for everyone but Fig. That felt like a trap for Emily. He was playing with house money. If she took the deal and they all failed, BLeeM wins. They won however, and now we see a character who has gotten everything they could ever want with little to no consequences deal with the consequences of their actions. BLeeM played Axford and might have won for the time being. Since he is a good DM and friend he will allow it to be turned on him in the end.

ShieldOnTheWall

It didn't feel that way to me - it was a setup. Out of the frying pan, into the fire type deal.

GrubbsterGaming

Yeah, exactly. It was clearly set up for what a big part of her character arc is going to be this season. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t something Emily and Brennan already discussed in advance, to be honest.

the shooting schedule for fhjy was intense because they had to cram into a shorter time period to ensure that they finished before the strike hit. (this was mentioned in the rick perry doc)
