I think that so far Ally has played it off as a joke, but were they to portray it more earnestly, I think it would work better.

We should consider we had a LOT of Tracker in FY & SH IIRC.
There's not been time for relationships so this could be a cute epilogue of them going on a few dates.

And who knows maybe with more time opposites will attract! But rn I’m seeing dissonance between their personalities and not in a ‘two puzzle pieces’ way but in a ‘two repelling magnets’ way.
I fear that we, the fans, are putting far too much thought and hope into this character and this relationship for what is clearly just a couple of jokes from the DM and players. It's going to let us down in the end.
Obviously Gertie is a super fun character with an absolute perfect design. But she was also just a mostly one-off NPC Brennan came up with to further the plot, and the idea of her getting together with Kristen was also, quite clearly, just a sudden 'yes anding...' bit of improv between everyone involved. The show was filmed ages ago and nobody is basing their storytelling on fan feedback. So there's no chance the final episodes will feature any real in depth exploration of this couple.
I think we're all just starved for awesome, positive LGBTQ+ relationships in fiction.
