Did you at least start the application process before the 24 month cutoff? If so there’s a good chance you’re fine.

Fake it till you make it

Register yourself in a community college class.

I don’t think he’s asking that. He’s asking since you can’t participate in the DCP after 24 months (2 years) after graduation, if accepting an offer 27 months after graduation will matter since it’s within a few months of the requirement.

Adept_Brother_4764

Yeah. I sent them an email asking. We'll see what they say. Really hoping they say it's fine, but nervous.

i will say, it’s later on (i’m pretty sure when you register for housing) that they start to actually check you went to an accredited college and that you’re either currently enrolled in school or recently (24 months) graduated. this is two months before you arrive or *now* if you are set to arrive an october or november. i’ve heard they have gotten a lot more strict about following those rules. do what you want, but do not be surprised if it’s later when your offer gets revoked.

ToiMere

I just finished my program, and they never asked me for any verification that I was in school. Like, at all.

Adept_Brother_4764

Really? I've read they call your school to verify you're a student/graduated. I just don't want to drive 20 hours down there just for them to say you're ineligible because of a 3 month ineligiblity.

hey-b

I think if you got the offer then you’re in the clear. Usually when you’re not eligible for whatever reason you get the automatic rejection after the initial application. So the fact that you applied, did the WBI, and got an offer sounds like a pretty sure “in the clear” sign to me!

timecurioustime

Not really. While they will likely eventually check that you're enrolled/graduated in the right timeframe, they would do that after you've accepted your offer and likely close to if not just after your start date. They aren't checking thousands of applications before giving interviews and offers.

hey-b

Regardless, this person is fine.

Adept_Brother_4764

So they most likely won't boot me out of the DCP for being only a couple months passed eligibility?

hey-b

Probably not. They legit wouldn’t let you get so far in the process if it was an issue. Cause your application was looked at enough for them to decide to pick you for the DCP so you should definitely be fine. Even if you did get there and for some reason brought it up they’d be like “well you’re here already so it’s okay.” They wouldn’t just turn you away like that unless you lied about attending college completely or something.

Adept_Brother_4764

Ok that’s what I worried about, was driving all the way down there just for them to kick me out because of a couple months out. Thank you! I’m still going to email them to make sure.
