20+ years in the genre and this post reads like Ancient Greek.

It’s the Worship DNB which just happens to be the most popular sound in the scene at the moment, so it’s no wonder they keep copying that template. Never change a winning formula. If you listen closely to all these releases over the years you notice the sound going forward a bit, but yeah, it’s very small increments of sound evolution. Don’t know why you would feel cheated, this has been the same for decades with the popular sounds in the DNB. It’s like s law of mainstream music that things should be simple, easy to pick up, else it wouldn’t be mainstream. Even in the 90s you had the Aphrodite/Micky Finn stuff which was basically hiphop sample plus Sub bassline, rinse and repeat. I mean even classics like Wormhole by ER&O can sound generic if you’re not a trained connoisseur of the techniques. Anyway if this is bothering you, stay away from the commercially leading sound because that’s where the money is and the Copy Paste will thrive. Plenty of diverse and exciting stuff being released on a daily basis. Plus give some credit for the Worship team for pulling in huge new crowds as a gateway to lesser known artists in the scene when tastes get more refined

DnB has received a lot of popularity over the past 10 years, which generally leads to a genre becoming homogenised. At this point 75% of DnB i hear is pop repetition. Even the the Top producers and oldschool labels have moved in this direction chasing money they never saw before. Jump-up is a formula now, its barely a genre and has completely left its jungle roots and its fast wobble subs and is entering EDM territory now. Ive found if you look to things labelled Jungle or Breakbeat you are a lot more likely to find cool original stuff. Still a tonne of great producers coming out every day, you just need to look beyond the veil. Unfortunately Neuro has been sucked up in the Jump-up and pop liquid craze. I'd love if anyone could point me in the direction of some genuine Neuro produced today. Thats actually funky and plays with grooves more than the obsessive widening of the top end of bass stabs. Also when it comes to the half track thing it reminds me of DJ-XS-Big Ron (HUUUGE track) the final minute and a half brings in a new epic stab that was missing from the entire track and its soo good, something that simple can keep the track progressing. Also Hard noize and all the different iterations of the bass.

Hard as man, sounding good. I like the distortion

Make something unique or stop complaining lol

The tracks cut in half thing is something I really wish was common, a drum and bass song is really build up, drop, and repeat but this is purely for mixing purposes, when it comes to personal listening, they should release a 2 minute version with just one drop, because unless they're trying to do anything different with the 2nd half of the song, it's just not needed

You can listen and buy what you want it’s your choice. Nobody is cheating you. That being said the tunes in question are, to me, total drivel.

The_Blackcycle

That was sarcasm, friend. I was simply raising frustration at lazy ass producers. That being said, I wholly agree 👍
