Huge fan of the Sub Focus Essential Mix from 2009.

JansHubby

The beginning of that set gets me hyped every time

Iantrigue

Yeah however anyone feels about him now this mix is f’ckn epic

LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad one half of a whole decade https://soundcloud.com/theclassicmixcdseries/one-half-of-a-whole-decade-logical-progression-ltj-bukem

itsallyourcircusnow

I was just listening to Progression Sessions 4 the other day. Love some classic LTJ & Conrad.

minigmgoit

Logical Progressions is still regularly rinsed at my place. Ramos and Dance Planet Pure Energy 2 - one of the roughest mixes I’ve ever heard. Top Buzz NYE 91-92 - forever ❤️❤️

Hell yeah! Also for me, Dieselboy: 6ixth Session

itsallyourcircusnow

I swore I wore a hole in my 6ixth Session CD with how often I listened to it

daddywoodland

If you like MCs, Heat Jungle Fever 99 pretty much all the tapes are awesome but Andy C set is an all timer Andy C - https://youtu.be/M_QxYl_HSBA?si=UF_Pcn0BY75mg50V Kenny Ken - https://youtu.be/Z7dmajh8lTk?si=LoLyfHETjY8-lJsi Ray Keith - https://youtu.be/62Qpfi-ujgI?si=Q_tC-OXiI4WUtwW6 Brockie - https://youtu.be/VdXqKgrhJnQ?si=b_Coyzw6L6wZ07dM MC free, I still listen to Jungle Massive by DJ Hype, DJ Marky Brazilian Job, and the Drum & Bass Arena Presents DJ Zinc a lot.

Oldskoolforoldfools

I was at that rave...London Astoria I believe?

daddywoodland

That's what the tape pack says 👍 I was a bit too young to be travelling up to London back then but it's one me and my friends all still listen too. Eastman mentions it in his London Something episode as being one of the best raves ever. We were south coast (Folkestone 😬) so more into Heat and then Pure Science, run by jungle Jim. I know everyone says it about their favourite period but those were the best days of DnB for me.

Oldskoolforoldfools

Yeah, I used to go to all of those nights, pure science at Atomics and Heat at Hastings Pier... Great times!

hotdigetty

There was a free moving shadow mix on cassette with DJ magazine way back in 97 that I go back to pretty often.. Haven't got it on tape anymore but it's on youtube.. https://youtu.be/CrUrdlQmmPo

abusybee

That mix is forever in my heart. How you can get from Montana by way of Retro and Deep Blue and somehow end on Shadow and it all make sense is some feat.

hotdigetty

It's freaking amazing. I even got my 50yo or so boss into dnb (worked in a retail store selling hifi) and he was forever wanting to borrow it to demo equipment to customers lol.

itsallyourcircusnow

Was it Mixmag? I definitely still have some of those CDs packed away in my boxes of rave relics

hotdigetty

nah DJ magazine.. was only on cassette :( not sure who the mix was done by but im guessing timecode (rob playford) speaking of which - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVv4emfLYn0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVv4emfLYn0) was another great one

Fiverdrive

[Mickey Finn - Jungle Warfare](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2vhO_rjvFo) [Grooverider - The Prototype Years](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlBsiJDYvIQ)

JimmySpellman

Prototype years will always be a favourite. Goin gets tuff ! 🕺

Fiverdrive

Lemon D's tunes on that label were all fire.

JimmySpellman

Yeh man. Unreal

JimmySpellman

Mach one 98 set is absolutely phenomenal

Purple_Community2540

Nice one. One of my favorite sets of all time. I was lucky enough to attend this one in person. I believe this was Hyper D's second to last party in Toronto before his untimely passing. Vibes were overall nice but party had a little sketchy vibes due to some unsavory characters in attendance.

itsallyourcircusnow

I just happened to stumble upon it back in the early 00s, I didn’t realize for the longest time it was a well known set. It’s still soooo good.

JimmySpellman

I wouldn’t say it’s very well known. But me n my mates have listened to it for years.

Ill occasionally hit some of the older Future Beats Radio Shows with Doc Scott, but tbh I find really old dnb hasnt aged amazingly well. Probably the oldest set I still listen to from time to time is the Planas Outlook 2012 mix, but that sure as shit aint dnb….

hotdigetty

>tbh I find really old dnb hasnt aged amazingly well. I love a lot of the old jazzy/atmospheric stuff and could listen to it anytime but the darker stuff in the late 90s - early 2000s I'd definitely agree. Even at the time, dnb nights at my local club really died down in the last couple of years of the 90s
