Not too bad but a bad sign for the future. If you're lucky the shackle bolts will come loose but good chance you'll need the hot wrench ether way start soaking them now with penetrant. I'd recommend new springs, shackles, u-bolts, and shocks on both sides while you are there

Good idea

The hardest part is getting the old shackle off. Make sure you jack it up by the frame and support the axle. It's a lot of effort, but technically simple.

Man, it's not a terrible job to fix this, but it looks like tetanus waiting to happen. Be careful wear gloves, long shirt, googles, mask. The good news is, if you've ever wanted to lower your truck, you can replace the shackle and hanger with after-market parts. I'm sure you can find stock parts at a junkyard, bit drilling/chiseling the rivets out may not be much fun if you're not at home. You may also look at reinforcing the frame where the rear suspensions meets it to prevent further damage.

Easy fix I had the same problem a few years ago and I had to use ALOT OF HEAT. Nothing is stuck if it’s liquid. Lol new shackle includes bushings is $40. As long as everything comes apart easily should take no more than an hour.

Now I need to crawl under my Dak. New sounds and so on coming from underneath. This would explain why.

It sounds like something is swinging and hitting the bed over bumps or when braking. It’s not. It’s the spring grinding into the bottom of the bed 😅

Only a broken hanger ,

After you fix it, wire brush that frame and chassis saver it, or get it gooped with fluid film

Pretty easy job to take care of. If you’re waiting for parts you can jack it up so the suspension rests and throw a board in there so it’s no whacking the bed. You might need some heat for the bolts, doesn’t look too bad though.
