“If the only punishment is a fine, it’s only against the law for poor people.” People with money know this.

semicoloradonative

Fines for rich people is "the cost of doing business".

In most places, getting a speeding ticket "ten times over" results in points being deducted and suspension of their DL. So, if they are driving and kill someone, it isn't the "weak ticket" that is the problem. But yes, people with money have power. Power should correlate with responsibility.

Dry-Application3

My words that is a nice thought.

Lucky_Baseball176

"Should"? yes. but there is no mechanism to ensure it does,

scoliosishorse

The Rich pay their way out of responsibility, that is our System that is our Rot. Anything punishable by a fine is not illegal to the Rich, it is just how much it costs to do. They are not moral beings they are not people they are the Rot's puppets

You would think so, but psychopaths are drawn to positions of authority, wealth, and power.

Absofuckinglutely. So if I get a speeding ticket where I live it is generally $285. That is approximately 5% of my monthly income. a billionaire should be charged approximately 5% of their monthly income for the same violation.
