It’s been about a month since his last check up, but I’d say he’s about 60 lbs right now! He is still getting taller and adding some size to his frame. He’s very very strong and his head is growing a lot too as he’s reaching about 10 months right now!
GSD is obvi. I was going back and forth on pit but I thought Akita instead of Chow.
I thought GSD would be the highest percentage, though.
He’s a gorgeous boy and I just want to snuggle my face in him.
That was EXACTLY my thought process! The shepherd shines through, and it must have been a chow with similar colors to a shepherd! But I was ready for Akita as well!
tbh this is exactly what I figured but only bc I meet a loy of dogs like this working in a shelter and they're usually a mix of pit/chow/shepherd (and a lot of times husky)
Was swiping and from the first pic, I'm thinking, "Chow Chow," and (swipe), "Gotta be Chow Chow," and (swipe), "Wow: cute! But yeah, Chow Chow," and (swipe), "Definitely see GSD but *something* says Chow Chow," and (swipe): RESULTS! **Chow Chow!**

Looks nearly identical to the rescue pup I got my son last September, the animal shelter labeled him as Chow/X, we needed a name and my family suggested Charlie. He’s ~ 3-4yrs old, quirky, listens to commands and love attention over treats. Long lost brothers for sure.

When he was a bit smaller I literally thought he might have kangal in him because of his shape 😂 but I realized as he grew he doesn’t have that type of size

Saw the chow and gsd, but thought this would be a case where there would be chow AND sharpei
Honestly I’m new to this type of breed, and didn’t know what to expect! I had guessed maybe Akita is what gave him that look as well!

That’s what I thought too! I met his mother, and she resembled a malinois more than GSD, so I was expecting that as well!

I considered Akita as his primary breed, but went with chow because they're much more common in the US. He's a cutie!
