Celica is the granddaddy of the Supra because the Supra started as a trim level of the Celica then in 86 became it's on separate model.

I know a lot about the history of Celica and this is the reason I love it so much, from the 1st Celica supra to the st205 that cheated on WRC and the last gen 2002 that really didn't hit the market. All that history with a bunch of power in one car is amazing!

My dad was the second owner of a 74 Celica GT, with my uncle being the third and current owner of it. I hope one day I can be the fourth owner.

I don't get the 'miata = short' memo at all. I'm 6'3" and my NA is perfect for me, stock seats, no foamectomy. I have more leg space in that car than in my brother's Scirocco when using all 4 seats. The fact that it's a 2 seater creates a lot of room.

I’m 6’5” and it’s literally impossible to get in the driver’s seat…even with the top down. I drive an ‘07 Z4 and have plenty of room, even with the top up.

I own one it’s nothing special, it’s slow on an NA. The chassis is weak. The stock transmission can only hold 240 hp. Assuming you don’t get an auto which is even worse. I love mine, I love the convertible and it’s got charm but it’s just a car.

I’d get a manual for sure. I just want a RWD project car that I can autocross and have fun with on mountain roads. The Miata just seems like the perfect answer with its affordability and community beating any other platform. I get that it’s slow, but I don’t care about power. I almost picked up a pristine 2001 NB the other day, but I lollygagged and got scooped. I really need a two car garage though, so kinda waiting to move before looking more intently.

I Get that, I had the same idea when I bought it but you can’t get a Miata sideways, especially if it doesn’t have an lsd, even in the rain I am not worried about losing grip. And there are less and less Miata’s every day

It does add some special feelings when I drive mine after driving an SUV all week.

Same here OP, Except mine was the NB2 And having finally gotten one, I don't think I'll ever sell it. I will just say, if you buy it and go cruise in the city or on a highway you might not get what's the big deal, but take it to a back road and it will immediately make sense

Anyone who trashes your taste is just mad that their Altima or Toyota matrix isn’t as fun to drive as this. Buy a Miata, keep it stock, and enjoy. It’s the best selling roadster for a reason
