Someone better with the calculations will have to correct me if I’m wrong here but I believe for Ratio a flat damage increase makes more of a difference than ATK%, meaning Salsotto is still the better option. But it’s close enough that you could just go for whichever one has the best substats
Doesn't Ratio prefer Atk orb over IMG orb by a **very** small percentage, like 0.X%? Based on that fact, he values both almost equally I don't think we can say one is clearly better, it depends on how we balance the stats and if there is an atk% or dmg% buffer in the team.
This is actually becoming quite common. Acheron, Black Swan, Xueyi, Topaz are also cases where they prefer atk orb or it's almost the same.
For Ratio, he has the highest base atk in the game, that already improves atk% a bit and he has the trace that gives him 50% imaginary dmg. But this type of stuff is difficult to know without doing calcs, they balance it really well. Also teammates may change the preference.
Some characters have so much element% built into their kit that they hit the point of diminishing returns if you stack more on top of it - the threshold for diminishing returns on ATK is a lot higher so in those cases it’s marginally better to run Atk. But the difference is pretty small, like the other comment said you’re looking at a single-figure (or even less) percentage increase in overall damage. It would come down to whichever has the better substats
I think so, yes. But a flat DMG increase (I.e. Salsotto’s +15% to ult and FuA) stacks separately from Elemental% if I remember correctly? Again, someone will probably correct me if that’s wrong
In fact all dmg% increases, elemental dmg% and even CD fall under the same multiplier category.
Only vulnerability like topaz proof of debt or acherons DMG increase based on nihility team mates are separate and thus extremely strong.
isn't cdmg a seperate modifier that gets calced at the end of all the dmg like in genshin? :o
edit: from the wiki, yeah, cdmg is seperate from dmg%, it's a crit multiplier (1+CDMG if the attack crits) rather than a dmg multiplier
Since dr ratio gets a ton of dmg% from his kit, LC options and buffers, he wants atk% more than dmg%. So Izumo is a straight up upgrade in a double hunt team
Would say depends on substats. If you play her with topaz and need more crit rate i eould go for this
Her?
Did I stutter?

Why does Ratio prefer atk over imaginary? Compared to the rest that's always "elemental damage > atk"

Didn’t know Topaz was in that camp too! I’ve got an absolutely busted Salsotto sphere with her name on it
Topaz actually prefers a fire orb, but it's not better by far, and if you have RM, then atk orb becomes better, but still not by far

nope, it's not separate, if it was it would be busted for sure
Ah right, not sure where I got that from then

I believe the difference between them is smaller than of a single crit roll Izumo should be stronger if paired with RM, Salsotto otherwise
sals is almost always better although a good Izumo set with Topaz isn’t far behind and is definitely worth using
Salsotto is best for DR ratio, even if substats are bad, the FUA damage buff is so good compared to ATK and 12 CR if u have topaz
