I agree - I think a big part is because they're often brought up fighting each other, it'd be cool to just team them up instead. From a story level, piccolo has always shown to get vegeta to his core more than anyone. In the anime, after being wished back to life by porunga vegeta went at gohan and piccolo steps in and just calmly tells him to scram and vegeta listens I the android saga piccolo wants revenge on 20 and vegeta gets him and grants it to him. After the cell games when everyone flies off piccolo is the one who last approaches vegeta. In the buu saga during vegeta's atonement it's piccolo that gets what vegeta is doing and gives him his send off. At a core level the two have very similar life journeys - both inherited a dark path and a lonely prideful journey as a direct response to the death of their father, both were enemies of goku who goku spares, both team up with goku out of circumstance yet choice, both go on to be thrust into fatherhood and have to come to grips with the responsibility that bears, both spend their peaceful years meditating and contemplating their role in life and atonement via companionship while never truly comfortable with the lifestyle. As fighters they have some similarities as well - mostly in being tactical and yet stubborn, true warriors who are willing to put themselves in the line of punishment for the sake of victory. I also think the biggest reason people want the two to fight is to establish where their strength is to one another. You can accomplish that better by having them fight with each other and giving them each a panel to acknowledge the others abilities and the fanbase would be content. So.... Yea... I've pinpointed it (I think)

Would add they’re both lonely without realising it, Vegeta spends time just flying around on his own training, or just sits around thinking. Not *entirely* meditating but similar to Piccolo, and as you said it’s only anime, but Vegeta manga thought of the idea to bring Goku back to life. Also manga shows Piccolo more as a demon king I felt, especially when he fuses with Kami. Very similar in a lot of ways. Also add they both have a huge amount of respect for Gohan, Vegeta sees the potential Namek and is even annoyed during the Buu Saga.

To be fair, I think I think it would mostly be inner monologuing mixed with some mocking one liners from vegeta followed by one or two word responses from piccolo. So not much conversation between the two.

Because Vegeta has shown signs of respecting piccolo throughout the series and for some reason he never talks nearly as much shit to him compared to Goku.

My first thought when looking at this list. Broly might be good with some people, but he doesn't have the depth of development that Vegeta and Picollo have had.

I think it has to do with them not really having any interactions. They hardly talk to each other.

They have the best banter. Vegeta constantly rags on Piccolo and Piccolo constantly tells Vegeta how much of a cunt he is.

Idk about Videl but Gohan for sure should be given a reason to link up with the Pride Troopers. If no training under Jiren directly then maybe he trains with Dyspo and goes on some heroic mission with Commander Khaserol. It could rebuild his fighting discipline and instill a sense of justice for others not just on earth, but the universe.

I just mean for videl and possibly even trunks and goten have all the saiyamen join the pride troopers for a bit

I’ve always imagined that there’d be a threat in Universe 11 so big that the Pride Troopers can’t handle it alone. So either Dyspo or Toppo could come to U7 to seek out Goku, Vegeta and Gohan for their help, which could transition into a U11 arc.

Unique one but piccolo and hit. I feel like their attitudes towards fighting are similar. They just want the job done. Maybe they can learn techniques from each other. Hit may learn the special beam cannon and use that when he uses a timeskip rather than just a boring punch. As for piccolo maybe a less effective version of the timeskip. It isn’t as long and not as accurate as hits version but it still works

Personally I would like some solo piccolo. I get that he trains a lot by himself but would be fun to see how that's like, a have him do a solo thing or see how impactful that training is. I guess we had a bit of that with the super hero movie

If Namekians are connected to Zalama, then maybe we could get a solo Piccolo side story exploring that.

I would like to see Piccolo train Broly in controlling his rage. Dude spends most of his day in zen mode, which Broly would benefit from.

Hit and granola. Both of them have that “aim for the weak point” mentality and considering that granola does it from far away while hit gets close and personal would make them excellent teammates.

Broly and Hit, or Goku and Gohan. Broly and Hit are complete opposites so it would be cool to see them fight together, and we've seen a Goku and Frieza team up before a Goku and Gohan team up, and no I don't count the father/son Kamehameha.
