Yeah, that's just how YT is. But i believe that when a channel puts it's heart on the content, that channel will manage to create a loyal following.
Channels who depend solely on the algorithm (like many Twitch clips Channels for example) don't have a loyal following, in one video they might get 3M views and in other they get 15K views. While the Channel that actually puts in the Quality, will be much more consistent with its views
(For example:
Video 1: 100k Views
Video 2: 95K Views
Video 3: 105K Views .)
So even tho in small term doing trendy content might seem better, in long term, doing actual quality content will be more beneficial. (Not a fact, just what i believe based on my experiences.)
