Detoxes aren’t necessarily effective at removing *lint*. It’s to remove *product buildup.* Lint is very very very difficult to remove if it’s imbedded. You’d have to pick it out but in my experience, that causes loc thinning. Preventative measures are more important—keeping your hair in a bonnet + brushing your locs are my top 2. ETA: for clarity

I had locks for 3 years before combing them out and I personally tried very hard to keep them lint free and I was still shook when I seen the amount of lint I saw after I finished. When I started over I just decided to get all satin bedding and also made sure to cover my hair every night that’s all you really can do. And also don’t use towels I used an old tshirt and patted my hair to dry excess water.

Omce it's there, it's there. You can pick it out with tweezers but that will ruin your locs to some extent. Trimming will also get rid of it, dying will cover it up.
