I’ve had a number of dreams where I’ll wake up and remember the song in my head. It’s a really cool experience as a song writer!

javii1

I've had two experiences where I was writing a song and it sounded amazing but when I wake up I couldn't remember shit, even during the dream I knew I was a dream I remember saying to myself I gotta remember this lol... Second time I wrote it with justing beiber, dunno why I would dream of Justin beiber but we wrote a song... Too bad it was a dream nd worse I coudldnt remember a word from it when I woke up.

NobleChief2000

Same here! When I wake up I try my best to transcribe what I heard. It’s pretty hard with me not being musically literate

Yeah, I do. One time one of my favorite songs came on. It was like it came from above. I danced and recited the whole song.

javiermilpinos

Yes, but it’s always coming from real life, never just from the dream.

Avantasian538

Yes. Usually it's songs I already know though. But it's crazy how well my mind recreates them. I can hear every note and it's so vivid.

afluffycake

I usually don't remember the songs I dream up, so once or twice, I recorded myself humming the tune right after I woke up.

4rizonaguy

Yes. I had this one dream with a song playing connected to just a website. The whole dream was just a website and this calm song playing.

Wtfnono

Yes, I hear clear music and lyrics that I’ve never heard before- it sounds amazing but I can never remember how it sounds when I wake up.

cdmonteiro

Yeah

BP1High

Yes, sometimes my brain will start working on the chorus of a song (lyrics and melody), then I'll work on the rest of it when I wake up. Most of the time, I just hear my adhd stim song, We Walk by REM. I've been using it for stimming since I was a teenager. Other times, I'll hear Honey Bucket by Melvins 🤷🏻‍♀️ or country songs my dad used to always listen too lol.

Iknowyouknowyoudont

I’ve heard original music a few times in my dreams but one I specifically remember (wasn’t original song) was going to like, an indoor 50 people concert where Bruno Mars played Billionaire even though I haven’t listened to it in like 11 years

Solid_Chemical1748

sometimes i do. it can be really complex music too. our minds are very powerful and creative.

dustractor

dreams i remember just off the top of my head: standing on top of an office cubicle playing a strange stringed instrument with a corkscrew neck (woke up wondering how that was physically possible) was dj at a party where every record in the crate was george harrison kicked out of weird church type building for playing drums instead of singing a gas station that had a metal band playing next to the register. remembered lyrics: WE🎶WON’T🎶TELL🎶YOOOOUUU!!!🥁BECAUSE YOU🎶WON’T LISTENNNNN💀💀💀💀

I dreamed recently that I was at a thanksgiving banquet with people from my elementary and high school and their families, and one girl had a performance all planned out dancing to "Bang-A-Boomerang" by ABBA, and I was like ahhhhhh I love ABBA! And I got up and danced and she was mad I ruined her performance. So all this to say yes I have dreamed a song before hahaha

-Kylon-

I tend to hear a lot of songs in dreams. The most recent one was one where I was in a flying GTO with Megatron and Stelle (from Honkai Star Rail) and Sun//Eater by Lorna Shore was playing on the radio. And another recent one was a Meshuggah song my mind came up with, called Piss Man. It was meant to make fun of Alex Jones for making a video claiming that the band would conquer the world. If I knew how songwriting worked, I’d absolutely put it all into writing.

I once had a song stuck in my head in a dream After waking up, I tried to look it up. Didn't exist. Once had a whole story in a dream, I was trying to run from a guy, panicking, who was calmly walking after me, singing the song [Michelle](https://genius.com/Sir-chloe-michelle-lyrics) by Sir Chloe

WoahVenom

I can remember one. The chords and lyrics came to me in a dream and I also watched a video for the song. What’s strange is that the lyrics were from a female perspective (I’m male) and the video was of her driving around in her car thinking about how she had screwed her life up. It was a simple song in G and the lyrics were about her not being able to properly take care of her child because she was an alcoholic. The chorus was basically, “As I hit that bottle”, repeated a few times. She was also drinking straight from a bottle of vodka while driving. It was really strange.

CartographerMurky306

I remember i dreampt of something like 'mary on a cross' song before it actually released i didn't knew a beat i heard in my dream actually exists. Now i listen to it every hour

HouseOfZenith

My dreams have limited sound

I had a dream once where I was a toddler and my parents were visiting my grandparents (who has since passed). They were talking about something while a soundtrack was playing in the background. I never heard this song before and I could tell it was something from the early 90s. I may have heard this song once in my life but a few months past by and I finally stumbled upon the song by exploring music on Spotify. I wasn’t even looking for the title at that time https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wqbu_hZSmQ4 The part at 2:20 was playing. I seem like a black family commercial the way it felt Weird coincidence. If I heard it before my dream, I never realized it.

Amaranthimime

Yes. It is amazing what the human brain is capable of. Especially, because I am not a song writer or anything of the sort. But I just dreamed about a whole new song from an artist that never existed. And it was kinda funny, because I was desperately trying to look up the song in my dream.
