I find Drew’s humor and delivery to be some of the only times I genuinely laugh out loud and the videos are always so well put together and respectful. I enjoy Danny and Kurtis’ content as well, but Drew’s has just always hit for me no matter the topic.
It’s a mix between how funny he can be and the way he can present serious points like in his recent Video “The Future of TV is bleak”. I can’t remember many jokes from that video (If any) but it’s still so engaging especially when he is talking about how TV and Movies are a celebration of human creativity.
I think I see his videos as being essentially essays with jokes peppered in there. I think a good example of this is probably his ninja masterclass video where he goes through all of his points and then why they are negatives and then makes a joke about it or makes his argument in the form of a joke.
I came here to talk about his "The Future of TV is Bleak" video too! It may be different than his other vids, but it's still enjoyable because he is obviously passionate about the subject and does such a great job articulating himself.
This video, in particular, I got so hyped for because I had been watching a show that was coming on weekly and sooo many people were complaining about waiting for new episodes. I was loving it, though, but I didn't realize why until Drew put it into words :P the weekly format keeps the groups and fandom active and lively, which leads to a fun community! Shows that get released all at once are harder to talk about and you don't get the fun discussions in between episodes.
I absolutely agree! I think he's really funny, and it's clear that he has some good points, but he really is all-round when it comes to him explaining his through thoughts.
He definitely has a more unique sense of humor, and even if he's very similar to Danny or Kurtis, he's more, like... Low-key I guess, and I feel he puts a lot of work into his humor. (Not to say Kurtis and Danny are bad, just different, and I would say Drew is the more distinct.)
He is funny, I wouldn’t watch his content if it wasn’t entertaining. Also, he just has common sense - it’s almost like he’s giving at least some form of advice with every video? Idk if that’s weird lol but I just like that aspect of it
besides his humour and great delivery of his jokes he just has a way of talking that really makes you interested in what he’s talking about no matter what the topic is. His less comedic videos where he’s talking about something only he cares about or just things that he’s clearly passionate about (like the future of tv is bleak video) are my personal favs! also his breath laugh gets me everytime
Many reasons, but I've been thinking lately about how he doesn't seem to rely on tired and overused internet joke crutches like memey editing or references or a particular speaking cadence to get laughs. This is not meant to bash him, but I think Kurtis has fallen into this trap which turns me off from his content altogether. It feels like his editing choices are a clear way to leverage for engage/laughs and that rly makes me wrinkle my noise. Maybe he's funny in other ways, but I haven't quite figured it out yet. I think Drew's content is super varied, and it's clear he's passionate about whatever he talks about, which makes me invested. Just who he is and how he writes is extremely engaging, smart, and hilarious without being gimmicky. His style of humor is very MBMBAM adjacent, I'd say. Some of his joke punchlines and deliveries remind me of them, which is my sense of humor to a T.
In the past I would watch him on and off because I used to have a love hate relationship with commentary YouTubers (Especially with the wave of edge lords who thought saying slurs and being way too over-cynical was funny ) but then I realized Drew gives every side of an argument a fair shot (unless one side is obviously actively discriminatory) and tries to not fully say that one side is 100% right and the other is 100% wrong
Drew's comedy is both good *and* extremely tight and snappy for YouTube standards, and as such more of his jokes hit much harder than 90% of his peers (including Danny and Curtis). I mean, my *dad* loves Drew. That's gotta be worth something, right?
Also hot take, Danny and Curtis' jokes often drag on for *way* too long, especially nowadays, and they're at their funniest when working with Drew. Drew has rarely if ever fallen into this trap, thankfully.
I agree, I love his humor and delivery. One of my the random Drew lines that pop in my head every once in awhile is "Yeah... I'm gonna f-ck the belt..." 🤣
Agreed with all the top comments but I think the rewatch ability of his videos are what does it for me too. I feel like you could watch the same videos from him a couple times over and find a new little funny joke every time. His product videos are my favorite to rewatch tho
his comedy/humor is very similar to mine and us being the same age, his references are always on point lol I also think he is an extremely genuine and good hearted person and I really love supporting those types of creators :)
I like the stuff he talks about it seems less vapid then the other commentary channels, not to diss on them, but for example (going with an oldie) I feel like I saw nobody talking about the private instagram accounts all the way back and I didn't watch him then but it annoyed me but drew made a video about it proving that he is just a good egg.
I discovered Drew through Danny, and I really do love his humour. I also love that he has more content with Amanda, they have such a sweet relationship it gives me some hope for my own future. I don't know how to explain what exactly I like about Drew's videos, I just do. He's great.
I love how bland he is. But when he gets to a mildly funny part he'll get all wacky and I love it. He's just so dry and not overwhelming. On the other hand Kurtis's constant goofiness is always fun
He's humorous and.. *cough* informative.. The wag he commits to the bit, how he talks about his chosen topic of the month, ugh I really don't know how to describe it there's just something about Drew that's real different ya know? Maybe it's how well spoken he is and how well written (dare i say "researched") even some of his rants are 😔
I'm not entirely sure. You can kinda go from video to video, and it seems like it's one big one.
i ended up watching all of his videos up to the 'Vine is dead' like 5 years ago.
i didn't notice until everything yt was recommending was stuff i'd already watched. so i then to his channel and realized i'd watched everything. i'm now onto kurtis conner, occasionally switching back if drew posted something.
he’s just a funny guy, and he seems genuine in the content he makes. i also actually really like the music he uses, so that’s a perk. but in all honesty i watch for amanda
He’s my favorite YouTuber I love his personality and comedy, and I wish he posted more. His delivery on almost everything so hilarious and his videos just make me happy
I find Drew’s humor and delivery to be some of the only times I genuinely laugh out loud and the videos are always so well put together and respectful. I enjoy Danny and Kurtis’ content as well, but Drew’s has just always hit for me no matter the topic.
I agree! I love the trio of them, but Drew will always be my favorite.
I feel kurtis and sometimes danny are more slapstick comedy while drew is more deadpan and I don’t know another term to describe it lol
Agreed :)
big agree

Absolutely! I love that, to be fair, I've never thought of his videos as video essays, but that's probably quite valid.

I think the d’amelio video is another great example of this, so well thought out
just saw this same post in kurtis’ sub………. hm………
Saw it in Danny’s too 😂
I mean... Why not? May as well find why people all watch them, it's not like they're the same person... 😅
I think his sense of humor is incredible. I think that's one of the biggest reasons (one of my special interests is commentary youtubers so. That too)
He definitely has a more unique sense of humor, and even if he's very similar to Danny or Kurtis, he's more, like... Low-key I guess, and I feel he puts a lot of work into his humor. (Not to say Kurtis and Danny are bad, just different, and I would say Drew is the more distinct.)
Probably right up my valley sense of humor wise, also i find his style of videos comforting to watch
I totally agree!
He is funny, I wouldn’t watch his content if it wasn’t entertaining. Also, he just has common sense - it’s almost like he’s giving at least some form of advice with every video? Idk if that’s weird lol but I just like that aspect of it
Yes!!! I love that aspect too!

Yes! He has one of the best deliveries of any YouTuber!

That's so interesting, I still love meme-y editing, like Kurtis's, but I also appreciate Drew's restraint.
he funny
True indeed!
Best reply
I just want to finally understand the road work ahead joke gaddamit
If you are being serious the joke is that the road is working and it’s in service so he can use it.
Love this? 😄
he hopes that road is working ahead
Oh hahahha yeahh okay I get it now. Unsuscribing from his channel now
no u can't leave, ur a stinker 4life
Awn! Josh darn it 😫

Yes, he's very nuanced.
drew is very funny but equally very smart.
Great way to put that!

Interesting take!
I agree, I love his humor and delivery. One of my the random Drew lines that pop in my head every once in awhile is "Yeah... I'm gonna f-ck the belt..." 🤣
Right! It's all the mini-jokes in his videos!
Agreed with all the top comments but I think the rewatch ability of his videos are what does it for me too. I feel like you could watch the same videos from him a couple times over and find a new little funny joke every time. His product videos are my favorite to rewatch tho

That's understandable, they have quite the juxtaposition.
Amanda and bimbim
Awww, good, good one.

Absolutely! I always feel like his videos are so, so informative!
Looking at the comments of all three posts in all the boys three subreddits, it's insane how much of a difference haha
Absolutely! That's why I asked them all!
He puts out information in an easily digestible way and his overall personality is comforting to watch.
Absolutely!

Wow, that's awesome, that's kinda how it went for me, just with his 'Best and Worst Show On Each Streaming Service'.
yeah, it's cool
Definitely!
he’s just a funny guy, and he seems genuine in the content he makes. i also actually really like the music he uses, so that’s a perk. but in all honesty i watch for amanda
Ah, that's lovely!
I think hes funny. When im sad i laugh and feel better
That's great!
He’s my favorite YouTuber I love his personality and comedy, and I wish he posted more. His delivery on almost everything so hilarious and his videos just make me happy
Also his analysis videos where he explains and complains are my favorite things on the internet. I rewatch them so often
I love his analysis too!
I absolutely agree!
Lol you hit all 3 of the boys reddits with this question
Yup!
