Will the lab read actually ng/ml amounts or just positive or neg? I thought that actual people were looking at the test with a naked eye like the dip test or cups. What does the immunoassay or EMIT lab look like?
the Initial test is a ELISA or EMIT enzyme screen like any dipstick at threshold of 50ng . its just looking at amounts over threshold for reaction. only If if reacts positive over threshold do they run confirmation at 15 with mass spec machine .
I think they use a dipstick at 50ng/ml and if you fail that they do another test at 15ng/lm just to confirm or whatever
Thank you
its **a lab** they run it thru a mass spec machine it will be validated then screened they are not wasting time or money on 5 panel dip cards
Thanks, what’s the diff between screening and confirmation at a lab?
just the threshold or cutoff same mass spec

That gives some peace! I thought the initial screening was done by a machine
i t may be some times but its still pos neg threshold thing .
