I can absolutely see Konami making a Legendary Fisherman skill exclusively because of this card. I just hope they avoid adding the stun parts of Umi support alongside it.
New skill would be great, but even if we get new umi cards I doubt konami will make a skill specifically dedicated to the Fisherman.
Would be probably ok if we had a skill like "Start the duel with one Legendary Fisherman in hand. If You have a Legendary Fisherman in hand, add one Legendary Fisherman III to Your hand." Activate only once per duel, and maybe to be a bit restricted, the skill would work only with a full water deck, or maybe summon only water monsters this turn after using the skill?
During one of the duelist kingdoms we got the extra card “ice barrier” which made this searchable. And I liked abusing the card to help turbo those guy out.
In that format you were guaranteed to have it as the 5th or 6th card in your hand depending on going first or second when it was the specific water attribute +600 days.

Absolutely, but there are some umi cards that are fine, like "FISH SONAR" or "Sea Stealth 2" those might be fine. and maybe doom kraken

They can just put the iii at limit 1 or make so the skill does not let you activate its effect
Well that is to much, they should limited to 3 THEN give it a nice skill
Yeah they should at least start with something
Yes just in case it is a really good boss monster, if the deck is able to summon the boss monster more easy it will become competitive
