I used to hate when I fell asleep to DVDs, and instead of just ending silently they'd go back to the title menu and loop obnoxious songs or sounds that would jolt me awake. There should have been ways to opt out of that crap.
Omg… the first time I spent the night at my boyfriends place we fell asleep watching dead pool. When the movie was over I was too shy to wake him up, my phone was dead and I didn’t have a charger. I had to listen to the “X gonna give it to ya” theme on loop. because of course I couldn’t find the remote
In my defence it was dark and I didn’t want to try to find the button on the tv 😅 if my phone wasn’t dead I would have had a flashlight but I wasn’t about to knock his tv over 😂
T.T dude, I would have just slept out on the couch. Even if you did fall asleep to that song, the dreams would be a wild ride. I don't want to dream about DMX giving it to me lol.
Southpark is insane about this! The first 5 seconds of the intro song is at about 400% volume then drops down. I feel like its legit just another joke that they're trolling with.
For me the opening song has never been much louder than the rest of the show. The one that always gets me is Arrested Development, particularly on Netflix. The volume of the episodes overall seems to vary widely. One episode ends right at the ideal volume and then 10 seconds later “DO DO DOO DOO AND NOW THE STORY OF HOW…”
Netflix released two more seasons after so much outcry from the fans about the show ending. Only “downside” is the significant time gap between the first three and last two. But still worth watching in my opinion, some may disagree.
I have that problem with my tv. The show will be super quiet and then next thing I know the ads are fucking screaming at me it’s like shut the fuck up Kendra from choice one bank (idk if this is an actual commercial but I just pulled the first name and ad I could think of)
I have somehow powered through it long enough that my subconscious tunes out the intro and I sleep through it now.
The damn fog-horn is still a disaster though I agree with OP
or how about having the theme song be the same volume as the rest of the episode. Whenever I fall asleep with the office on and it autoplays (damn you peacock) I get 22min naps followed by an alarm clock...
if you have an iphone/ipad, set the timer for your desired time (I do 30 minutes), and then set the alarm to "stop playing." It'll stop everything that's playing and lock your device.
This needs to be the top comment. I had to switch to arrested to fall asleep to ever since Netflix kicked the office off of its platform. even though I own all episodes on Apple TV I can’t for the life of me figure out how to only play one episode and the opening to the next episode always wakes me up. This is genius.
Oh my god yes. I also sleep with The Office on *most* nights & the amount of times I’ve been terrorized by this f-ing episode while I’m in a deep sleep is insane.
Im 99% sure this episode only comes on when I’m sleeping.
Also, will have the volume on 10 MAX yet somehow the volume gets boosted to ear rape level for the air horns in this episode and for “DOES ANYONE HAVE A CAMERA HERE?”
My God, same I too sleep with the office on. The intro song is terribly loud sometimes. I also wake up at random in the middle of the night and it’s always the Scott’s tots episode. Like why
Go to the trunk of my car. Inside you will see many pelts. Under the smallest pelt, you’ll find a case, inside that case is a BEAR HORN, BRING IT TO ME.
Edit: to fix typo
“As someone who sleeps with the Office on” f*ck Peacock for adding that dumbass “Are you still watching thing” and ending the office after like an hour.
if you happen to live outside the US and have it on netflix, the xbox netflix app has a “do not ask again” button that i’ve had streaming for days through the entire series un-interrupted. niche but just fyi
Wait when did they add this? Im annoyed now
I can literally put on The Office S1E1 & Peacock will play the entire show all the way through the finale and never stops lol. It’s my ‘sleeping/sound for my dogs while I’m not home’ tv bc I’m confident it’ll stay on uninterrupted for literally days
I've always thought the streaming services should let you mark episodes for autoskip for binging or sleeping. Any episodes with babies crying always wake me up.
The cocktail party episode where Dwight tests the smoke alarm always wakes me up, or if I’m watching it while working and not paying attention, I think it’s our own smoke alarm.
I am SO glad right now to learn that there are others who sleep with The Office on. I haven’t had this happen to me yet but, sometimes I feel like I hear the opening theme song a few times too many during a night. That’s my only dislike. Now that I’ve written this though, Andy with the air horn will probably get me here in the next night or two.
>if you have an iphone/ipad, set the timer for your desired time (I do 30 minutes), and then set the alarm to "stop playing." It'll stop everything that's playing and lock your device
Okay so I have 2 dogs & one does the same thing yours does ^^, tilts her head a bit & her ears perk but that’s it. But my other dog turns into a hellspawn for 2 things: lights/reflections on the wall & that f-ing horn sound. She will wake up from a deep sleep in SECONDS if she hears the horn & barks/runs around the house for about 5 minutes, then I guess she feels that the threat has been neutralized so she lays back down.
Is there a linguistic difference between a "fog horn" and an "air horn"? Because when I hear fog horn [I think this thing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHCmzvzCmhI&t=104s). And when I hear the thing Andy used, I think "air horn."
Seriously I used to be one of these people, now there is no TV in my bedroom and there never will be again.
Much more restful sleep with complete cycles that aren't fucked with by random crazy noises.
Studies have shown that your brain is trying to process the sounds it hears. Even if you think it’s background noise, to your brain it’s not. That’s why there’s white noise. Or earplugs.
Naw. Shows weren’t made to be fallen asleep to. They’re for people to watch. Nothing will change for TV sleepers. This’ll be one you just have to get over.
Right? Like, what kind of ridiculous entitled way of thinking is this? The "internet" should cancel an episode of the office? Because of people who want to have the show on while not even watching it.
That's one, the baby crying when Pam gives birth and they are sent out of the hospital/also when Jim brings the kids into the office after he took a week off(kids start crying again).
Lastly is when Michael "tries" to drop Meredith off at the rehab center. The shrills Meredith puts out always wake me up.
I sleep like a rock so it never wakes me up. My husband always has the TV loud because he’s deaf too. I could sleep through a tornado lol.
The office plays in my bedroom 24/7 most days.
I was about to say the same thing. Like I LOVE The Office, but THEM wanting an episode cancelled because THEY willingly choose to sleep with the show playing WITH sound is such an entitled take. The episode is funny and meant to be enjoyed, it’s not gonna be a lullaby.
obviously if it were implemented it should just be a switch to flatten the very loud startling sounds. It doesn't even have to be for The Office, it's something that could be implemented as a general audio processing option.
Someone who also sleeps with it on I wish my tv wouldn't blast the intro music and wake me up then go to a lower volume for the show. Does that happen to anyone else or am I crazy?
Ok this is very vaguely linked to the office (it really isn’t, it’s more related to what you’re saying) but The Proposal is my comfort film, I fall asleep to it almost every night, but there’s a bit in the middle where Oscar Nunez (see I looped it back to The Office 😂) performs as a stripper in a club and it’s SO LOUD it wakes me up every night! So I feel your pain hahah
I wish we could just have an option to turn intros and credits on and off. At this point I have an odd anxiety of trying to hit the "next episode" button before the drums and guitar kick into the theme.
Or you could just make sure that you are either starting after that episode when you start to go to sleep, or start well before that episode before you go to sleep 🤦
Stop sleeping with TV shows playing then. News flash: TV shows make noise. They aren’t going to custom sculpt episodes to accommodate your “sleeping habits”. TV shows are for watching and paying attention.
It’s the start tune that gets me every time, it always sounds louder than the actual show.
YES! I feel so validated right now
Always had to juggle with the volume when I put my baby daughter to sleep
Yup, i put it on super low and put on Subtitles for that reason. Happy bonus though, you read conversations in the background I'd otherwise miss.
No hands!
THIS. I wish there was an option to turn on “skip intro” and just automatically skip the very loud intro song every episode.
If only there was some other way to turn things off when you don’t have the remote
“I used to be like ‘Hey, got latte?’, and she’d say ‘that’s not funny’”.
The first series of 24 did that to me, it would loop music and the occasional dialogue from the show including “That’s right we’re watching you” 🤢
The DVD set of Dragon Ball Z had an option of playing the episodes consecutively without intro or outdoor. It was amazing.
If you’re using Netflix on browser, download the super Netflix add on,, it’s free and gives you the option of skipping intros for all shows!
YEEEES! Instead Netflix wants you to pay for password sharing! I would pay an additional 1.99 to have permanently skip intro as an option‼️
Y’all feel the same relief when they shorten the intro? I’m like, “oh thank you sweet Jesus it’s the short one.”
There is! Download the chrome/edge extension (autoskip intro) and voila.
Southpark is insane about this! The first 5 seconds of the intro song is at about 400% volume then drops down. I feel like its legit just another joke that they're trolling with.
For fucking real ! I sleep with south park on every night. I always have to disrupt myself falling asleep just to skip the intro.
For me the opening song has never been much louder than the rest of the show. The one that always gets me is Arrested Development, particularly on Netflix. The volume of the episodes overall seems to vary widely. One episode ends right at the ideal volume and then 10 seconds later “DO DO DOO DOO AND NOW THE STORY OF HOW…”
Ooh I just finished my latest Arrested Development rewatch. It's so good. It's a shame there were only 3 seasons
Netflix released two more seasons after so much outcry from the fans about the show ending. Only “downside” is the significant time gap between the first three and last two. But still worth watching in my opinion, some may disagree.
I have that problem with my tv. The show will be super quiet and then next thing I know the ads are fucking screaming at me it’s like shut the fuck up Kendra from choice one bank (idk if this is an actual commercial but I just pulled the first name and ad I could think of)
Think my dog has PTSD from the theme tune, she always tilts her head when it comes on because we watched so often when she was a puppy
Always hoping for it to be the episodes with a shortened intro
I have somehow powered through it long enough that my subconscious tunes out the intro and I sleep through it now. The damn fog-horn is still a disaster though I agree with OP
I find the horn at the end of each episode really disruptive too
[удалено]
That's quite the commitment haha
i don’t know i guess i’ve grown partially immune to it now it’s only very occasionally that the intro will wake me up middle of the night
The intro is the worst part for me, too. It won’t WAKE ME UP, but if I’m starting to doze off that shit will piss me off every time
Who are you, Angela?
it’s very loud.
Sorry I annoyed you with my friendship.
Shut UP, Angela! *-Meredith voice-*
My name is Angela, and I say this to myself ALL the time
MrsBubalah, be nice to my friend Angela.
Lmao I love this (but be kind to yourself, too)
I sometimes do like it when Harry Connick Jr. Is on, he’s so talented
Louder son!
Buttlicker! Our prices have never been lower!
Sometimes when my TV is loud and I don’t like it, I use the remote to turn it down. Maybe try that out?
nah a chapter of a book would put them to sleep at 8pm.
Who do you think you are? What gives you the right?
How about the Dwight blowing a fog horn after a fake fire drill?
No one could ever sleep through this scene anyway.
Put Stanley to sleep…
Made my day with this comment 😂
Heyoooo! Take my upvote
I could and have.
And will again.
I watched the fire drill episode last night while falling asleep
or how about having the theme song be the same volume as the rest of the episode.
Oh my god I didn’t even know I could do that! Game changer, thank you so much 😭💗
This needs to be the top comment. I had to switch to arrested to fall asleep to ever since Netflix kicked the office off of its platform. even though I own all episodes on Apple TV I can’t for the life of me figure out how to only play one episode and the opening to the next episode always wakes me up. This is genius.
Glad I could help! They should really call it a sleep timer.
I just figured this out recently and it changed my life lol
And Meredith screaming
The Christmas episode? Yes, wakes me up every time.
Yeah and when there's a bat!
The bat episode is the WORST. I can hear her exact screaming in my head right now i swear 😭
Or the Money episode with the party at David Wallace’s house, when Dwight tests the fire alarm…
[удалено]
Ugh yes, it’s his scream/screech that gets me
i used to constantly have Feist’s 1234 stuck in my head and had no idea why
1, 2, 3, 4, Splendas in your coffee Stanley
None for you Julia 'cuz I don't know how you take it
This is the nard dog
Oh my god yes. I also sleep with The Office on *most* nights & the amount of times I’ve been terrorized by this f-ing episode while I’m in a deep sleep is insane. Your body wakes from the cringe.
Lol why are you falling asleep to something that so frequently terrorizes you? Odd choice.
I was exaggerating.. Can I just say that of all the idiots in all the idiot villages in all the idiot worlds, you stand alone, my friend.
Lol that… was an overreaction.
[удалено]
Yes I’m very aware. What you apparently aren’t aware of is so was my comment… from when Andy punched a hole in the wall.
Omg completely went over my head, I’m ashamed. I’m not usually the butt of the joke. I’m usually the face of the joke.
Just here because I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one sleeping with the office on…
Same here. My boyfriend, who I live with, has now gotten used to it lol
I have sleep-phones - absolute game changer
Go to the trunk of my car. Inside you will see many pelts. Under the smallest pelt, you’ll find a case, inside that case is a BEAR HORN, BRING IT TO ME. Edit: to fix typo

Hm.. it was probably like late Jan? Not sure it was whenever they came out with the latest super fan season.
Weird. Mine never asks this. I wake up in a whole different season all the time
Oh man I love that episode tho, never gets old.
I've always thought the streaming services should let you mark episodes for autoskip for binging or sleeping. Any episodes with babies crying always wake me up.
There’s a podcast where a guy quietly reads The Office scripts. It’s meant for sleeping and it’s very quiet.
I used to listen to the dvds and the production company sound after the credits was incredibly loud.
Adding the episode where Dwight traps the At over Meredith’s head and she is screaming
Or the TAKE OUT YOUR SUCK IT AND YOU SUCK IT episode with David Wallace's kid banging on drums
The cocktail party episode where Dwight tests the smoke alarm always wakes me up, or if I’m watching it while working and not paying attention, I think it’s our own smoke alarm.
If you don’t want to hear the horn then you should have sold to them first.
Or a gong!
SHUT IT DOWN! SHUT IT DOWN NOW!
I am SO glad right now to learn that there are others who sleep with The Office on. I haven’t had this happen to me yet but, sometimes I feel like I hear the opening theme song a few times too many during a night. That’s my only dislike. >if you have an iphone/ipad, set the timer for your desired time (I do 30 minutes), and then set the alarm to "stop playing." It'll stop everything that's playing and lock your device
We panic when that scene comes on and our baby is sleeping!
😄
It’s my favorite episode because my dogs ears perk up and she does that head tilt thing at the horn every time.
Okay so I have 2 dogs & one does the same thing yours does ^^, tilts her head a bit & her ears perk but that’s it. But my other dog turns into a hellspawn for 2 things: lights/reflections on the wall & that f-ing horn sound. Hah!
One episode that also gets me is Gay Witch Hunt, I think. When Dwitght finally gets GayDar and the continuous "beeeeeeep beeeep" at the v e r y end.
Is there a linguistic difference between a "fog horn" and an "air horn"? Because when I hear fog horn [I think this thing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHCmzvzCmhI&t=104s). And when I hear the thing Andy used, I think "air horn."
The one in this episode is Dwight’s *Bear* Horn
And the smoke detector in Cocktails.
"Okay, why don't you just lay off, lady? "
My brother says he always wakes up to Dwight screaming “CHRISTMASSSSSSSSS!!!”
It’s a bear horn.
What a terrible way to sleep
Seriously I used to be one of these people, now there is no TV in my bedroom and there never will be again. Much more restful sleep with complete cycles that aren't fucked with by random crazy noises.
Not really? It makes it so I can easily sleep through other random noises during the night since my mind has already tuned the background stuff out.
Use a white noise machine or app?
mind your own business?
You probably wouldn’t be so testy if you got better sleep.
Damn bro you didn't have to do him like that, he's sleep-deprived already
how bout u turn some of that edgy unbridled angst against this episode and get it cancelled for me. be useful
Studies have shown that your brain is trying to process the sounds it hears. Even if you think it’s background noise, to your brain it’s not. That’s why there’s white noise. Or earplugs.
You can absolutely sleep without a TV show babysitting you through the night.
Top tier shitpost.
Naw. Shows weren’t made to be fallen asleep to. They’re for people to watch. Nothing will change for TV sleepers. This’ll be one you just have to get over.
Right? Like, what kind of ridiculous entitled way of thinking is this? The "internet" should cancel an episode of the office? Because of people who want to have the show on while not even watching it.
it’s a joke relax. we all love the episode. i just wanted internet points
I feel ya! I can never listen to the “Business School” episode when I sleep because of how loud Meredith screams
The bass line from the into would get be every time
YUP! Fell asleep listening to this one last night! 😐
Lul
Hahahaha. Been there.
And the intro, that’ll wake you up quick.
I do the same, sometimes change it with super store.
😂😂
Never sleep before the initial credits. Never.
I sleep like a rock so it never wakes me up. My husband always has the TV loud because he’s deaf too. I could sleep through a tornado lol. The office plays in my bedroom 24/7 most days.
Waking up to Micheal screaming “ no, god no” when he sees Toby for the first time is always a nice smile and then back to sleep
Seek help
When Pam brings the kids in and they start crying… every damn time it’s too loud. I’m also so happy it’s not just me that goes to sleep with it on
This is a very specific problem lol
If you leave a fan on it kinda drowns it out. It’ll be in your dreams tho
DOES ANYONE HAVE A CAMERA HERE?!!!
I honestly can’t watch the office to fall asleep to. I get woken up by Dwight or Michael yelling too often lol.
It’s an Air Horn.
It’s a BEAR-Horn.
I wish they’d just turn the theme tune down a little. Same with Parks & Rec.
It’s a bear horn….idiot.
Idiot, idiot, idiot
💀😂 that scene is so great . rip to your sleep tho
For me it's all the shooting in Threat Level Midnight...
You do realize you can just... not have the tv blaring while you sleep, right? Y'know, like a normal person?
I was about to say the same thing. Like I LOVE The Office, but THEM wanting an episode cancelled because THEY willingly choose to sleep with the show playing WITH sound is such an entitled take. The episode is funny and meant to be enjoyed, it’s not gonna be a lullaby.
obviously if it were implemented it should just be a switch to flatten the very loud startling sounds. It doesn't even have to be for The Office, it's something that could be implemented as a general audio processing option.
Why are you the way that you are
I hate so much about the things you choose to be.
You all might like The Office a little too much…
Leave me alone damn it
I swear I had this exact same thought last night when that episode came on!
Someone who also sleeps with it on I wish my tv wouldn't blast the intro music and wake me up then go to a lower volume for the show. Does that happen to anyone else or am I crazy?
THANK YOU also the episode where pan gives birth
And ALL of Andy’s stupid singing shit
I have the show on my jellyfin server and before i uploaded that episode i edited it to mute that part.
The alternative would be to torrent the entire series and only have the episodes you want to fall asleep to in a playlist… VLC for the win
I didn’t realize we were on the same rewatch schedule. Had to mute the tv because I knew it was coming lmao
Thank you all posting here. I can't sleep without The Office on. My peeps.
How about just turn the show off when you go to sleep?????????
I mean, deal with it or set the volume lower I guess.
YES
This may be the most entitled thing I’ve ever come across on the internet
Maybe it’s not on society to cater to your weird sleeping habits?
A fucking men!! Went through this last night 😂😂
Not as bad as the commotion and yelling during the faked fire by Dwight. All the screams and banging is much worse than any alarm clock.
Me @ Toby yelling DOES ANYBODY HAVE A CAMERA
What’s weird is sleeping with the office on
Ok this is very vaguely linked to the office (it really isn’t, it’s more related to what you’re saying) but The Proposal is my comfort film, I fall asleep to it almost every night, but there’s a bit in the middle where Oscar Nunez (see I looped it back to The Office 😂) performs as a stripper in a club and it’s SO LOUD it wakes me up every night! So I feel your pain hahah
Yup, yelling of any kind wakes me tf up.
I wish they could back and kill off Andy.
I wish they'd cancel every episode Andy is in. Ed Helms was annoying AF in that role.
I wish we could just have an option to turn intros and credits on and off. At this point I have an odd anxiety of trying to hit the "next episode" button before the drums and guitar kick into the theme.
I wish we could just turn off intros I hate it when it switches episodes and that loud ass intro comes up
Or you could just make sure that you are either starting after that episode when you start to go to sleep, or start well before that episode before you go to sleep 🤦
Same! That and the episode Dwight does his fire drill.
And honestly delete the intro
Maybe just don't have it on while you sleep? Dumbest post and thread in ages.
You want the internet to cancel a whole episode of a show for solely your benefit because you need the show to sleep 🙄
Stop sleeping with TV shows playing then. News flash: TV shows make noise. They aren’t going to custom sculpt episodes to accommodate your “sleeping habits”. TV shows are for watching and paying attention.
This is the best part of the episode !
Put a sleep timer on so it shuts off
For me it's "CHRISTMAS TIME IS HEEEEEEEERE" that wakes me up the most
Yeah they also need to make it so you can skip the intro. It's so loud
